Starting to get ready for a positive change

I worked very hard this past summer of 2007 to get healthy and lean. I was feeling so tired all the time, with almost daily headaches and the brain fog was horrible. I knew I had to make a dramatic lifestyle change in order to feel energetic, vibrant, healthy, and focused. It was a matter of health, not weight loss, but I went from 166.4 lbs on July 2, 2007 to 142.2 lbs on September 17, 2007. I was exercising 3 to 6 days a week, taking 1.5 hour belly dance classes twice a week and I felt wonderful. In mid-October my Mom died, and by December 17, 2007 I was up to 155.6 lbs.
As demoralizing as this nearly 15 lb weight gain, is the returning lethargy, gas, bloating and brain fog. I desperately want to get back to a balanced, nutritious, sensible way of eating and regular exercise so I can regain my lost vibrancy, energy and focus and lose not just those 15 lbs, but get down to fighting weight. I want to feel strong, fit, healthy, lean and sexy. And, I want to be a shining example to my 16-year-old son and 21-year-old daughter.

So, for the next couple of days, I'm eating the rest of those shortbread, sugar, caramel and pecan cookies (hopefully with some help from my friends) and getting all that calorie-fat-sugar-dense food out of my house and replacing it with nutrient-fibre-protein-dense foods.

I'm looking forward to the New Year and a New Start, with some help from Spark!
