feeling ever so slightly more human

Friday, February 20, 2009

Not completely human, mind you. Just moving toward that general direction. At least my fever is gone.

The nasty bug that Benjamin had last week. I am as weak as a kitten, moderate temp, feel like I've been hit by 2x4s all over my body.

Nuts and potatoes

Wednesday, February 18, 2009

Those are my kid friendly swear words, as in "Oh Nuts and Potatoes I forgot to pay the rent!!!" (that's never actually happened, it's just an example) :)

So today I am swearing in a kid friendly way because it appears that, once again, I am coming down with a cold. Oh nuts and potatoes! I can't believe it!

And I am all out of my immune boosting stuff. Nuts and potatoes!!!!

Go to your Health Food Store or Vitamin Store...see if they carry UMCKA...it is a great natural material for colds & the flu. My hubby was so sick about 2 1/2 weeks ago...cough, sore throat, fever, etc...I found the UMCKA...it really seemed to help him..

He was worried that my mom and I would come down with the "BUG"...we escaped!!

Thank goodness.

Hope you Feel much better soon.

emoticonLol, I like this blog. I've never been one to curse a lot so I might have to borrow this sometime. On the show Battlestar Galactica they use the word 'frak' for our normal 'f' word.

Also when I first read the title I thought maybe you were talking about a new combination of food that was really healthy. From what I understand in my nutrition classes the most nutritious combinationis rice and bean, so I figure the nutes (protein) and potatoes would probably be a good one too. Maybe someone should try it but I'm not sure if I would. emoticon

to weigh or not to weigh

Tuesday, February 17, 2009

I weigh myself every single morning and I'm kinda tired of it. I've been thinking about going to a weekly or monthly weigh in. It doesn't mean that much and it doesn't positively motivate me very much and when it's up, it makes me cranky.

I think I'll weigh once a week and see how that feels.

Personally I think once a week is Best. I use to weigh myself every Tue. morning but I joined a team where all the members weigh in and report on Friday so I switched to that day. Everyday is too much fluctuations. Once a month is to long. Try once a week but pick the same day every week and always weigh in the morning. Make sure once a month that you take your measurements.

My docs tell me that in order to get your true weight loss you should only weigh yourself once a week. Seems to work and its better than that frustrating daily up a pound down a pound thing. Good luck.

Thanks, ya'll

I appreciate all the kind words and prayers you have all sent my way. Today was a lot better grief-wise. I even had a nice long tear-free conversation about Seymour with my good friend Sheila. Damn, I loved that cat. emoticon

I FINALLY got some exercise in today and I feel much, much better. I really needed a super long sweaty workout to work-out some of this sadness. I did 5 miles with Leslie and I turned the volume off and listened to my own music on my brand new SP Ipod that I won last month. It's pretty and shiny and red like an apple. I got so much more out of my workout because as much as I love Leslie's workouts, her music sucks (imho). I think I'll make up a playlist that has the same beats per minute as her workouts (or faster) so that I don't hit on any sleepy songs that slow me down.

I'd really like to train for a 5k. I know that's a bit random but running appeals to me on many levels and I'd like to give it a try. I think with the right soundtrack in my Ipod I could do it. emoticon
