YAY ME!

Saturday, May 01, 2010

I am super proud of my mom and me due to we both walked from my house to the park down from our house. It was 3.07 miles to walk down there..after we walked there my mom who has a back back and knees was bothering her. So we got my dad to pick us back up and then we came back in finished our last mile with the Leslie Sansone tape walk your way thin! So todays Total of miles completed was 4.07 miles! We really worked hard..I was especailly proud of my mom because she thought she wasn't even going to make it before she got started but I was proud of me because I didn't try to quit or make excuses not to do it! Plus yesterday I signed up for the Susan G. Komen 3 day walk where you wallk 60 miles in three days. Thats 20 miles a day! I have 168 days to prepare for this and I have to use all the days I can use to do so. I have alot of money to collect and i hope i can raise it. I wish I knew alot of people that would be committed to sponsoring me..however I am not going to worry about that right now. I am going to do the best I can and do it. I also signed up for the relay for life to do in September 24 and 25th! I am looking forward to those months but Summer can stay for a long time if it likes, I love summer.

Today I weighed myself and I saw i gained 2 pounds. I am not angry or sad about it this because i know i ate the best I could, I excercised this week, and I had only one slip up this week. Which was a small piece of cake with icing.. Also I had my monthly friend this week which has me bloated and thats when i gain or lose weight also. I recently just started back eating better and working out so I bet you i was going to gain this anyway. However as you can see I am still trying to be positive about it, because if I go negative the eating better and excercing will cease and right now I don't want that at all! I want to achieve this time. My body, mind, and soul are all in agreement with my goal to achieve. If I am mistaken that they are its going to be a long journey to weightloss and doing the marathon.

Even though I gained I was proud of my self in other ways! I worked out all the days that I wanted to work out. Worked out on S,M,W, THUR, Fri, and SAT. Thats 6 days that I worked out! I walked outside this week, did my walking tapes, and also incorporated strength training. I guess this week I was very motivated blogging and talking to friends and family about being unmotivated. I want to thank spark friends who encourage me to work out and gave me some things to be motivated about and also my family and friends. Without you I would have never achieved my goal to work out this week or any other weak because although my mind was like you got to work out my body was saying something way different. It was on the chill mode and would have stayed there if I didn't try to even work out.

I think week 2 is going to be just as successful as along as i keep the motivation and determination to work out. I hope whoever reads this can get the motivation to work out or continue to have the motivation. Well gtg bye!

Those aren't baby steps. Great job.

YOU are the CAPTAIN. Take that vessel of yours(the Lord fills vessels) out to the waves where the wind can fill it's sails again. Your last voyage was inspiring. Take your crew with you.

For all you do,
Love ya

Good for you on staying positive, even though you've gained. When it's that time of the month, don't worry about the scale because your body is probably retaining water-I know I do. Keep up the great work. Go hard and don't give up, you're doing well!! emoticon emoticon

I want to do the 3 day walk for Susan G. Komen

Friday, April 30, 2010

I want to sign up for the Susan G. Komen walk. It's a walk to raise money to help find the cure for cancer. You walk 3 days a total of 60miles. I don't have a problem training to walk for 60 miles and walking 60 miles. The problem is raising the money. They want u to raise 2.3k and I am not good at raising money at all...and then raising that by October seems pretty had to do. I don't know what to do... emoticon. I really want to do this and it seems like a hard task to do. Should I still try? I want to do it sooo bad i don't know anyone who lost the battle to breast cancer but I just want to do it for the cause. It can happen to anyone you mom, your dad, you, your sister, and your friends. What should I do????? You have to pledge that you will raise $2,3000. AAAHHH! I really, really, really want to do this for other and to challenge my self because walking 60 miles is a huge challenge but can be done. Please give me your suggestions! Thanks.

One of my friends did that walk and she used the website provided by the race to raise her money so that people could donate online. She also sent out emails to her friends and family, put a link on her Facebook page and asked her church to include it in their Sunday announcements and newsletter. I think you will be surprised at how many people will help you. You just have to make your ask personal and tell them why the cause is important to you.

Also my brother-in-law sent us weekly email updates to tell us about his training progress when he was getting ready to bike the MS 150. That was great because it really let you know that he was serious about it and appreciated our help.

Good luck!

I have a few suggestions for you. You can send an email to your coworkers. Most of the events have the ability to post a link on your facebook account (if you have one). You can also do some fund raisers at work, like maybe a 50/50 raffle, you can do a bake sale, you can sell some stuff on EBAY, sell hot dogs, yard sale. Lost of different ways to raise money.

I sent an email to my coworkers that if I was able to raise $500.00 for an MS walk I did that I would shave my head. I raised it and kept up with my side of the deal and shaved my head. Good luck!!

Well if you look at it one way is that you have 5 months. If you get 8-9people a month to give $60 you will have met your goal. You won't believe how many people you know would be willing. My co-worker did it & she reached out to family & friends & they also reached out to people they know too. You can do it!

God bless & Have Faith!

With most fund raisers they are hoping you can meet your goal. I walked in the Susan G. Koman's Race the Cure and did not have all of my money raised by the date of the walk and they still let me walk. Just do the best you can to raise your money.

Good luck with the walk, a great challenge!

Hello Tiffany. You are sooooooo beautiful and I love these colors on your page. You are doing great for being in school. I did that in 2004 and graduated in 2006 but it was finishing my Associated degree. I would like to go further. You can do this and are doing this. God is your Helper and with Him all things are possible. I tell you the truth, He is my Personal Trainer and I have gone far and He led us to this site for success. Thanks for adding me as a friend and let me know before you graduate so I can send you a special goody. Praise the Lord for your success!!!
Many Blessings!

You can do it girl! There are a few things I can do to motivate myself. First I stand in the mirror unclothed and just look at my body. That's enough to make me want to run for 2 hours lol. I also look at pictures of what I want to look like when I lose weight. I have a few stars that motivate me so I'll look at their pictures and that makes me want to exercise so I can get to that goal.

I hope some of these work for you.

Let me put it this way....the earlier you get started, the better. emoticon Do it because you love and care about YOU!! Now that is a fabulous reason to get motivated. YOU!!!

I'm motivated, now, because I feel better when I exercise. I used to hear people say that, and I would be like...really? emoticon But it's true. Take small steps and work your way up. I can walk with Leslie for 3 or 4 miles, now. I couldn't do that last year. Now, go on and do your thing! emoticon emoticon

Me. It's for health reasons. I need to get my blood pressure and cholesterol down so that I don't get meds. So i'm doing this for me. Think of something that you would like obtain; like endurance. SO workout to your potential so that you cna gain more strength and then add more goals. Whatever you do, don't give up and start small if you you have to. 10 minutes burst of exercise a few times a day is better than doing a whole long hour session. emoticon

Girl, if you did it once, there's absolutely no reason you can't do it twice! But this time, tell yourself it will be the last time!

You can do this! And you did great for a first day!

By the way, you talked about the way you feel when you first start a ''diet''... Spark People isn't a diet, it's a LIFESTYLE! Haha

You can do this! emoticon

Huge sparkly love,

Alexandra
