IT'S SO HOT...

IT'S SO HOT in Texas.....the birds have to use potholders to pull the worms out of the ground.
.....the trees are whistling for the dogs.
.....the best parking place is determined by shade instead of distance
.....hot water comes from both taps.
.....you can make sun tea instantly.
.....you learn that a seat belt buckle makes a pretty good branding iron.
.....the temperature drops below 90 F and you feel a little chilly.
.....you discover that in July it only takes two fingers to steer your car (one on each hand).
.....you discover that you can get sunburned through your car window.
.....you actually burn your hand opening the car door.
.....you break into a sweat the instant you step outside at 5:30 A.M.
.....your biggest motorcycle wreck fear is, "What if I get knocked out and end up lying on the pavement and cook to death"?
.....you realize that asphalt has a liquid stage.
.....the potatoes cook underground, so all you have to do is pull one out and add butter.
.....the cows are giving evaporated milk.
.....farmers are feeding their chickens crushed ice to keep them from laying boiled eggs.


IT'S SO DRY in Texas that the Baptists are starting to baptize by sprinkling, the Methodists are using wet-wipes, the Presbyterians are giving rain checks, and the Catholics are praying for the wine to turn back into water!

Chicago area has felt a lot like TX lately. In fact, we even had a few days where we switched weather entirely with It being hotter here up north. Lake Michigan is on average, 11 degrees warmer than normal and we are breaking records for plus 90 to 100 degree days. I always said I couldn't live in the south but, the south has migrated north. My friend has a bad habit of overdrawing her bank account. One day before we went shopping, I complained about my lack of funds and lamented, "Guess I'll use plastic."

Unconcerned, she whipped out her checkbook and said: "I'm using rubber."

I'm not an American but I do follow international news and politics and I think President Obama has substance. Sometimes its quite sickening when you have someone trying to do right and everyone else just jumps all over the little 'mistakes/misunderstanding' and make a mountain of a mole hill. The obstructionism, the lies, the attacks, stepping on the poor to give to the rich, the outright racism.......they would rather take the country down than give President Obama a legislative victory. I like your manifesto! I'm supporting him too. I think he is the best choice for uniting our country, and despite not being perfect, he is a lot better on the international stage than Romney. In case you can't read it: Why I support Obama--- 1. For 30 years I've heard politicians talking about health care reform, and he's the first one to do something about it. The Affordable Care Act removes restrictions on pre-existing conditions, makes health care more affordable for small businesses, raises the age at which children can be on their parents' policies, remopves lifetime caps, and more. With the possible exception of insurance execs, who would not want these changes? 2. He ended the war in Iraq and is drawing the war in Afghanistan to a close. Like he said he would. 3. He thinks women should have access to free preventative health care. Why is this still an issue? 4. He believes in equality for all people and signed the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act to help women get equal pay for equal work and the repeal of the military's "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy. 5. He is promoting and investing in clean energy jobs. Finally! 6. He supports education by giving more flexibility to No Child Left Behind (thank you!) and my making college aid more available. 7. He thinks millionaires and billionaires should pay their fair share of taxes like the rest of us. Really, this is a no brainer. 8. Despite inheriting one of the worst economic messes since the Great Depression, h addd 2.6 million private sector jobs to our economy, and indications are that the economy are slowly improving. The Founding Fathers were sitting around a table sometime in 1776, working on the constitution. It had been a long day.

Father1: Whew! It's getting rather warm in here, isn't it?

Father2: Shall I open the window?

Father1: No, that's alright. I'll just take off my jacket, and roll up my sleeves.

Father2: Hey, that's a good idea. Why don't we include that in the constitution?

Father1: What? That we're allowed to take our jackets off and roll up our sleeves while at work?

Father2: Yeah, but that doesn't sound very smooth. How about "Everyone shall have the right to bare arms?"
