Romney's England Gaffe

Monday, July 30, 2012

COULDN'T RESIST ADDING THIS ONE!

Romney – a.k.a. America’s crown prince of running for president, really grabbed England by the crumpets when he said he found London’s preparations for the games 'disconcerting.' That is the same classic Romney charm he used to woo his wife; 'Roses are red, Violets are blue, There are a few things that are disconcerting about your hair.'

You got a lot of comments on this one. Personally, I'm not too hot on either of the candidates.

It sounds like Colbert has his priorities straight. I'm more interested in unimportant matters like the national debt, unemployment, a dilution of religious freedom, fast and furious, and politicians wasting our tax dollars. I guess I just don't understand what's important.

It's far better than the opposition's bowing and making obeisance to opponents of our long standing moral values. We NEED a president who will call a spade a spade and not bow to anyone.

AND I agree that England, who can usually put up a grand show, did little to launch the Olympics this season--shame on them.

DON'T YOU KNOW WE ARE NOT SUPPOSED TO GET INTO POLITICS HERE ON SPARKS???

I like Romney, Colbert is a jackass. At least Romney doesn't apologize for America and bow to those who want to wipe us off the face of the earth.

Founding Fathers

Monday, July 30, 2012

The Founding Fathers were sitting around a table sometime in 1776, working on the constitution. It had been a long day.

Father1: Whew! It's getting rather warm in here, isn't it?

Father2: Shall I open the window?

Father1: No, that's alright. I'll just take off my jacket, and roll up my sleeves.

Father2: Hey, that's a good idea. Why don't we include that in the constitution?

Father1: What? That we're allowed to take our jackets off and roll up our sleeves while at work?

Father2: Yeah, but that doesn't sound very smooth. How about "Everyone shall have the right to bare arms?"

Fried Chicken

Saturday, July 28, 2012

Our teacher asked what my favorite animal was, and I said, "Fried chicken."
She said I wasn’t funny, but she couldn't have been right, because everyone else laughed.
My parents told me to always tell the truth. I did. Fried chicken is my favorite animal.

I told my dad what happened, and he said my teacher was probably a member of PETA.
He said they love animals very much. I do, too. Especially chicken, pork and beef.
Anyway, my teacher sent me to the principal's office. I told him what happened, and he laughed, too. Then he told me not to do it again.
The next day in class my teacher asked me what my favorite live animal was.
I told her it was chicken. She asked me why, so I told her it was because
you could make them into fried chicken.
She sent me back to the principal's office. He laughed, and told me not to do it again

I don't understand. My parents taught me to be honest, but my teacher doesn't like it when I am.

Today, my teacher asked us to tell her what famous person
we admire most.
I told her, "Colonel Sanders." Guess where I am now..."

I served in the U.S. Navy for 25 years because I love this country. I didn't agreed with the Bush decision to go into Iraq and I don't agree with the direction our leaders are taking us now. We can do our own thinking or we can let others do it for us. Listen carefully to their words and compare that to their actions.

As long as Americans believe that supporting one of our two main political parties is more important than what's happening to our country then we will continue our slow downward spiral.

Gee Alpha, as a member of the Spark Conservatives team I would think you recognized that politics is often discussed on Spark. Or is it that some of us don't agree with your views that is the problem?

I'm sure this should go without saying but, I'd like to voice my support...............You have EVERY right to post articles, positions and opinions on you own blog and elsewhere on this site.

It's confounding to me that someone would be offended when they performed an act of free choice, by viewing the content of your blog. You are not holding anyone hostage to your opinions and postings.

School isn't even in session but we have a class clown. I am laughing out loud but this is not funny. This Bozo could be our next president. Instead of God Bless America, God Help America! Also, instead of "Land of the free, home of the brave" it will be "Land of the greed, home of the slave."

Skeleton

Saturday, July 28, 2012

I was helping a buddy of mine, who was an orthopedic surgeon, move to his new office, and using my car to help transport some of his office equipment.

I had decided to position his somewhat fragile display skeleton strapped into the back seat of my car, his bony arm across the back of my seat...

At one traffic light, the stares of the people in the car beside me became quite obvious. I looked across and explained, "I'm delivering him to a doctor's office."

The other driver leaned out of his window. and commented, "I hate to tell you, but I looks like you may be a bit too late!"
