Boredom exercise cure...

Monday, February 22, 2010

I couldn't face my regular T-Tapp regime tonight. Got my 10 minutes in dancing to the album "Skinny Jeans" [downloaded from iTunes to my iPod]. Still breathing hard. Glad I thought of it...now I''ll go figure out how it fits in the fitness tracker.

Dancing is excellent exercise Gayle! Good for you, girl!
I usually use my stationary bike, I have it set up in my living room so I can look outdoors as I pedal, that keeps it from getting boring ~ plus I often read while on it.
I have a treadmill but it is gathering dust bunnies so I need to dust it off and use it too.
At 70 plus and not an exercising type person, I have to really push myself to do it. What I really want to get into is walking outdoors and I hope to do that in the Spring when the weather is better.
You're doing great Gayle! If I lived close to you I'd pop over and dance to that music too!

All those equipment items take up a lot of space and cost a lot...Not in my league. Also I don't have the stamina for that kind of workout at 70...and just an exercise beginner! But the treadmill sounds really boring. I'm sure I would use it to hang clothes!

Yesterday I had a hard time getting motivated to walk but then I went on Spark, read some discussions, emailed two of my sparkfriends for motivation and YIKES I was off to a great cardio workout. Today, is the day I do cardio on my treadmill, had a great one, one of my best! I fight boredom on the treadmill by changing the incline and the speed all of the time, playing games with myself. I'll go all the way up the full 10% incline adding a percent every 15 sec, then go down at a different rate, then pick up speed and sometimes just mix it all up. Love it but I also love my gazelle. I know a lot of people don't but if you work it the right way you burn a lot of calories and get a great cardio workout.

2 DAY STREAK

Tuesday, February 16, 2010

Well that just sounds so pitiful as a streak, but I am proud of it because it took so many years to get me to start at all!!!! It's T-Tapp Rehab. This is arranged for those with MORE to lose or MORE physical problems. It has me sweating and panting...but I love it that she stops to shake it out just as I'm about to give out. God help me continue this streak!!!

Supreme Court Decision 1/20/10

Friday, January 22, 2010

Am I blue!!!!!!!! The Military-Industrial complex has overcome democracy in America! No longer is our vote going to count! The advertising that industries now are able to put before the public unfettered will lead the innocent into its way of thinking and without any checks and balances to its greedy manipulation of truth. Help! Amerca is doomed! I am going to go drink three milkshakes! [Not!] emoticon

I suggest we all pray for this nation and it's leader. I ask God to send the United States good God fearing leaders who seek his counsel and forgiveness. I ask him to put these men and women into positions of leadership in our government, schools, businesses, little leagues, churches, and all our clubs and civic organizations. It has been my prayer for some time now. We have to walk in faith, believing that this shall be done. Once again we will become "one nation, under God, indivisible with liberty and justice for all".
