Supreme Court Decision 1/20/10

Friday, January 22, 2010

Am I blue!!!!!!!! The Military-Industrial complex has overcome democracy in America! No longer is our vote going to count! The advertising that industries now are able to put before the public unfettered will lead the innocent into its way of thinking and without any checks and balances to its greedy manipulation of truth. Help! Amerca is doomed! I am going to go drink three milkshakes! [Not!] emoticon

I suggest we all pray for this nation and it's leader. I ask God to send the United States good God fearing leaders who seek his counsel and forgiveness. I ask him to put these men and women into positions of leadership in our government, schools, businesses, little leagues, churches, and all our clubs and civic organizations. It has been my prayer for some time now. We have to walk in faith, believing that this shall be done. Once again we will become "one nation, under God, indivisible with liberty and justice for all".

Ridiculous suggestions:

Salsa on potatoes Yuk!!!

Toast without butter Retch!!!!

The only sweet drink I have is a glass of OJ a couple times a week. Not much to cut out there!

Blue milk on cereal Barf!!! Blue milk is so yucky!!!!! I’ll have no cereal at all rather than use blue milk. And I don't drink milk any more since there are no chocolate chip cookies in the apt.

When I'm in the right mood salsa on a baked potato is O.K., but I agree about toast without butter (or at least Smart Balance). Some days are super-healthy food for me, and other days are like today...cheese crackers and a couple of pieces of chocolate. I can't help it...I'm weak!

I don't think that skim milk has been blue for years. In our family we have used skim milk for years. Salsa on potatoes is good. Give it a try. Good luck with trying new foods.

I like salsa on potatoes with a little light sour cream.

Try toast with cottage, cinnamon and splenda.

I am trying to get off Decaf Diet Cokes but its hard.

When I was growing up blue milk was milk that had gone sour.

But like your picture it looks similar to mine, 1954.

I'm going to post it under the team links.

I simply do not believe that exercise gives you energy

Sunday, December 20, 2009

Where do you get the energy to exercise??? I work 4 or 5 days a week. I have to get the laundry done, the garbage taken out, kitchen cleaned, a little cooking, food shopping, errands for my husband, go to weekly wound clinic appointments. On Saturday and Sunday I want to move as little as possible...I am depleted. I simply do not believe that exercise gives you energy...sounds like a pipe dream. Santa Claus. 20 years ago it would have been possible, but 20 years ago I was fit because my job kept me moving. At 70 I feel like every movement is a PUSH!!!!

I too am 70 for another couple of weeks and don't find exercise gives me energy. I have more energy since I've lost weight so some could be because I also exercise. I don't work, I'm retired and no husband. I have a daughter that does the laundry and shopping but I'm doing more. I still get tired.

Are there other health issues that you are facing, like hypothyroidism? It can leave you sluggish as well as the CFS that another member talked about. Maybe there is something else that is draining you. I have hypothyroidism so I have to push myself to exercise. It is no magic pill however. It has to be consistent. When I think it isn't making any difference I stop and then notice that things HAD become easier for me but I just didn't realize it. So, just keep doing it. As to the time, well, I love to Oxycise!. But the easiest time for me is to do the Commuter Routine in the car. I just love it! It's like I get to accomplish two things at once.

Perhaps you could try something similar since you are very busy also. Because of Oxycise! I can sneak in extra "breaths" while doing other things. Or maybe you can just walk in place during a commercial on tv or while waiting for the water to boil. I can appreciate the frustration that you must be feeling, just don't quit.

I don't think it is just a question of exercise. When I weighed 288 pounds and didn't exercise, just walking up a flight of stairs got me tired out. I weigh 240 pounds now and exercise 5-7 nights. Last night Mother nature dropped 16 inches of snow on us. Today my sons and I spent 2 hours digging out. I didn't get tired or short of breath. When we were done I made a snow fort for my grandson. 2 hours later I was doing my 40 minutes on the treadmill. I Turn 60 next summer and I want to weigh the same on my 60th birthday as I did when I was 50. So exercise and diet work hand in hand and I do have more energy but I think it has to do with having to expend less energy just being me and pushing around the bulk. I remember many years ago someone asked me why I ran up a flight of stairs. I said 'because I can'. I want to be able to do that again. I want to get rid of the 100 pound gorilla that was on my back. emoticon

Exercise has given me energy before and I used to believe that it didn't just like you. For me, the biggest task is to get moving because when I do, I feel energized. I have even felt more energetic after I finish a workout. It's like I get a jolt of adrenaline or something. I get pumped and I'm on some kind of euphoric high. However, when I don't exercise, I feel so sluggish. Hmmmmmm?

It has never really given me energy and I'm 35 and do less than you. But I also have CFS. There is really no cure but to eat right, exersice and get adequete sleep. So I usually just end up pusing myself through. I think you are doing well for all you do at 70.

Christmas Music Mix

Saturday, December 19, 2009

Made a beautiful CD Christmas mix of many of my favorite artists...Brought a copy to work, have a copy in my car, and of course here on my computer. Would have it on my iPod, but I gave it away to the father of a family we were buying presents for at work. It was such a rush! Don't know if he expected to really receive one or even if he has a computer to upload songs. Anyway I supplied him with the cable and a plug in charger so he could enjoy what was on there already. Or erase it and put his own on it if he gets near a computer. What a rush! javascript:void(0)
