We Are But Dust

Sunday, June 30, 2013

A visiting minister at the start of the offertory prayer:

"Dear Lord," he began with arms extended and a rapturous look on his upturned face, "without you we are but dust..."

He would have continued, but at that moment one very obedient little girl (who was listening carefully) leaned over to her mother and asked quite audibly in her shrill little girl voice:

"Mommy, what is butt dust?"

Church was pretty much over at that point.

Of course there are folks who would adopt the horses. But the ones the big slaughtering houses are after are the wild herds...which should remain wild. Chasing horses with helicopters should be punishable by steep fines as animal cruelty!

I can't imagine there aren't ranch or farm families that would like to adopt these horses and give them good homes.

As a vegetarian and animal rights supporter ( and animal sponsor ) I would not be in favor of killing animals for any reason at all.

Sarah Palin has been hired back by Fox News, and she only left five months ago. She has now effectively quit quitting. She canít even commit to being uncommitted. -John Oliver

President Obama is now in Ireland for the big G8 summit. Security for the overseas presidential trip is unbelievable. He has 14 limousines, trucks loaded with sheets of bullet proof glass to cover the hotel windows, and fighter jets flying in shifts. Thatís to protect the president. Joe Biden gets a pair of running shoes and a can of pepper spray. -Jay Leno

Edward Snowden is the guy who leaked all of the NSA secrets. He had a 98-minute press conference today and yet they canít find the guy. This is the biggest manhunt since Martha Stewart started online dating. -David Letterman

This day marks the 42nd anniversary of the war on drugs. Today our partners in Mexico observed it with a moment of silence followed by hours of laughter. -Jay Leno

DIFFERENCE BETWEEN WORK AND PRISON

Friday, June 28, 2013

Prison vs. Work

Just in case you ever got these two mixed up, This should make things a bit more clear.

IN PRISON you spend the majority of your time in an 8X10 cell.
AT WORK you spend the majority of your time in a 6X8 cubicle.

IN PRISON you get three meals a day.
AT WORK you only get a break for one meal and you pay for it.

IN PRISON you get time off for good behavior.
AT WORK you get more work for good behavior.

IN PRISON the guard locks and unlocks all the doors for you.
AT WORK you must carry around a security card and open all the doors for yourself.

IN PRISON you can watch TV and play games.
AT WORK you get fired for watching TV and playing games.

Work vs. Prison

Just in case you ever got these two mixed up, This should make things a bit more clear.

IN PRISON you get your own toilet.
AT WORK you have to share with some idiot who pees on the toilet.

IN PRISON they allow your family and friends to visit.
AT WORK you can't speak to your family.

IN PRISON all expenses are paid by the taxpayers with no work required.
AT WORK you get to pay all the expenses to go to work and then they deduct taxes from your salary to pay for prisoners.

IN PRISON you spend most of your life inside bars wanting to get out.
AT WORK you spend most of your time wanting to get out and go inside bars.

IN PRISON you must deal with sadistic wardens.
AT WORK they are called managers
