Late Night Funny #?

Wednesday, October 31, 2012

"The European Farmer's Union has announced that because of cold temperatures and drought, grapes aren't growing well and as a result this will be their worst wine harvest in 50 years. Experts are hoping it won't affect prices or threaten the supply of wine, and if it does they might have to start drilling for wine offshore." -Jimmy Kimmel

Here is some good news, gang! Oregon (my home state) is going to have a record grape crop. Not only that but the quality is tremendous. Wine will continue to flow! emoticon (this is close to a wine glass I could found.)

Today's thoughts...

Monday, October 29, 2012

I have been thinking all day about the comments I have received about not presenting both sides. Then I realized that this late in the election cycle if I have not made up my mind, then I have not done my research. I would have just sat around letting people rant at me and wimped out. But that is not my way. I search and search. My basic test is that one from the New Testament: “By their fruits you shall know them.” I don’t demand perfection, but I do demand authenticity and integrity in the candidates that I choose.

I see no authenticity in Romney. He has swayed from position to position depending on the audience. Only the “47%” speech was from his heart. His fruits have been sucking companies dry with legal but immoral shenanigans, shipping jobs overseas and making his fortunes out of others’ misfortunes. These propensities are easy to find out, and if you say there are two sides to the story of each of these actions...sure there are: the fortunes gathered on the one, and the misery on the other. No, his past actions will not save this country’s economy. Quite the opposite.

In Obama, I see a drive to really make things better. While his communication may have been wanting in the first years, he is catching up. The Affordable Care Act is a HUGE step in the right direction. The elimination of Osama Bin Laden and other Al Qaeda leaders is real progress in splitting up terrorism towards this country. (Bush gave up on that and instead chose to one-up his dad by starting the Iraq war on false pretenses. Bush also one-upped his brother, Jeb, who had been groomed by the family for the presidential seat, but getting that seat for himself! Odd little man!)

These are some of the fruits that I see and what has made me make the choices I have made. I could no more present the opposing side than fly! The opposing side is just awful and leads to the further ruination of our beloved country just when it is starting to get back on it’s feet after the devastation deterioration of the Bush years. These facts are so evident that trying to pretend to present anything else would a total lie on my part.

So, wow, that’s what this day’s thoughts have brought me...

Romney wouldn't appreciate it if we presented his side. That's for someone who believes in him to repeat his lies.

Obama had 2 bad years, while he was filling in the hole Bush left, but in the last 2 years, he has created 5 million jobs, and the unemployment rate has gone from 10.0 % in October 2009, to 7.8 % last month. Most analyst think it will be 7.6 % on Friday.

Since we are finally making progress, why would we change course. I predict Obama's 2nd term will be much better, just like Clinton's was.

Why should you present both sides? You are not impartial. You have, quite eloquently, stated why you support President Obama.

I am with you my friend... Support President Obama

LATE NIGHT FUNNIES

Late Night Funny #1

Donald Trump said he’d give $5 million to charity if President Obama released his college transcripts. Obama responded by sending Trump a full transcript from his alma mater, the University of Shove It Up Your Bum.

Conan O'Brien

Late Night Funny #2

Even though he’s spending all day on Air Force One, there’s an office on the plane where the president can work. It’s just like being in Washington. He’s got the desk, he’s got the computer, and he even has a closet that has a group of Republicans who pop out and block anything he tries to do.

Jay Leno

Late Night Funny #3

A source close to Mitt Romney revealed that he gets a spray tan before major campaign events. I guess that explains his new Secret Service code name: ‘The Mittuation.’

Jimmy Fallon

Late Night Funny #4

Do you know who is endorsing Mitt Romney? Lindsay Lohan. It may seem silly to you but not to the Romney campaign. They’re very excited. They said they have a chance now to get the shoplifter vote.

David Letterman

For many, many reasons I find Mr. Romney's stands on many things offensive. It is interesting that the Republican platform wants the Federal Government NOT to get in the way of business, mining, drilling, having a war, women getting equal pay for equal job description or have activist judges that get in the way of business doing any bad thing... BUT, Republicans really want to have legislation about what is going on with my ovaries, who I love or having their idea of "healthy families." If anyone would care to read the "official" Republican Platform please see the link below.

I could go on about the "code' words being used by these folks talking about our President's skin color, but that is another discussion... You keep up the good work Sunshine.. I admire you. I should have been writing about this as well. Now, after reading your great blogs I will.. Keep up the good work. I am proud to stand with you... Obama for President 2012

What a strange story. Why are some people so bothered by homosexuals? I don't care what other people do in the bedroom, as long as both parties are of age and willing. These two looked like ordinary guys to me.

I believe this. The entire Republican agenda is fear and hate driven. I pity the followers of Fox, Limbaugh, etc. They find themselves behaving in very regrettable and reprehensible ways.

Seems pretty simple to me. Their attire yelled HOMOSEXUAL and TROUBLEMAKER. One time one of our teenagers...family didn't go to church. But our youth group activities touched her, and she tried to go to church. Unfortunately she was turned away because she was barefoot! Jesus was shamed that day by the righteous! That's the context I hear this story in. Jesus was shamed that day by the righteous!

well, we are only presented with one side of this event, and we have no surety that more happened than was reported. Personally, I don't support republicans, but i do think more went on than was posted.

I find it hard to believe that they would kick them out for no reason, but if this is true than that's awful. Remember that we are meant to love all of our fellow man, even if they don't love us back in return. Keep up the great work!
