I am feeling a lot more mobile with my boot now that I can put weight on my leg. Mind you I am not running any races but I a moving... emoticon. Today is a great day!

    Sorry to hear you've broken your leg, and glad to know you're improving. Isn't it wonderful that SP has lots of ideas for exercising from a chair, etc.?

I am home with the boot the Dr. gave me. It hurt like crazy trying to take the first steps. It is hard to believe how you can walk on a broken leg a little over a week later. I can't tell you how good it feels to walk around but I still haven't given up my one crutch yet for balance. She also told me I had to hold off on exercising for a while. emoticon It will probably be enough exercise trying to get around...

It is cloudy and foggy in my part of the world. I look out my living room window and I just want to go back to sleep. It's been a week now since I have had to have my foot elevated. Tomorrow I see the Dr. and she will check and see if my broken leg is healing. Hopefully I will get a walking cast but my break is down by my ankle and she was unsure. I just want to get moving again!

I have fat turtle toes. Will this swelling ever go down? I still can't believe I broke my leg. I miss not working out and doing the things I like to do. One of my SP friends suggested doing a sitting workout. I've decided to look for one on the web today. Hopefully on Thursday the Dr. will give me the go a head when I get the splint cast off and they either give me a boot or a cast...I pray its a boot!!

Thanks for the ideas on how to keep myself in the best shape while I am broken!

I'm broken...

This past Wednesday the Dr. put a splint cast on my ankle/leg. I fell down the stairs in my house on Tuesday night and I was just hoping it was a sprain. Not so lucky....This Thursday I see the Dr. again and am hoping I will get a walking boot instead of a cast. The cast will drive me crazy with my restless leg syndrome. Anyway.....what does one do to not totally deteriorate when you have to be on the couch for 8 days with your leg up? I can't put any weight on my left foot at all. Leg lifts and arm weights are the only thing I can think of. Any suggestions? Also, how do you not gain weight just sitting here. Of course, I am eating less but this is sure putting a dent in to what I have been trying to accomplish living a healthy life style.

    Hi Cindy -

since I have some issues with arthritis in my knees I know how hard it can be to exercise when you're not moving. I was given this link by another Spark Friend - its a seated cardio program. Maybe it can help.

love your background picture - is this near where you live or have you traveled there?
