I'm broken...

This past Wednesday the Dr. put a splint cast on my ankle/leg. I fell down the stairs in my house on Tuesday night and I was just hoping it was a sprain. Not so lucky....This Thursday I see the Dr. again and am hoping I will get a walking boot instead of a cast. The cast will drive me crazy with my restless leg syndrome. Anyway.....what does one do to not totally deteriorate when you have to be on the couch for 8 days with your leg up? I can't put any weight on my left foot at all. Leg lifts and arm weights are the only thing I can think of. Any suggestions? Also, how do you not gain weight just sitting here. Of course, I am eating less but this is sure putting a dent in to what I have been trying to accomplish living a healthy life style.

    Hi Cindy -

since I have some issues with arthritis in my knees I know how hard it can be to exercise when you're not moving. I was given this link by another Spark Friend - its a seated cardio program. Maybe it can help.

love your background picture - is this near where you live or have you traveled there?

Normally Monday is my weigh in day. I just got back from a 10 vacation and I didn't lose but gained back 3.5 pounds. This makes me very happy since I would of normally gained a lot more. There was a lot of fresh fish available and we hit only one buffet. People say they lose weight on vacation because of all the walking etc...wished that would of been me and I say more power to those who do lose weight! P.S. I did a lot of walking and snorkeling.

I just returned from 10 days in HA. It was a wonderful time. Sunny, warm, lots of beach time and a lot of going out to eat. Monday is my normal weigh in day so I will see how good I did on my food choices. I am hoping with the fresh fruits and vegetables I won't gain a lot back!


Yes! I reached level 12...:)

I am really being prepared to make the right choices. Earlier I looked up the menu at the restaurant we are going to with friends. I know what choices to make when I get there to eat healthy. That way I don't even have to be tempted by other not so healthy menu items. Wouldn't it be great if all restaurants posted their menus... emoticon
