Homecoming over but still busy

Saturday, September 18, 2010

I made it through Homecoming Week, which wasn't that bad, since I only had 1 Volleyball match. We didn't win, but we kept up with the A school, so I was happy. These next 3 weeks will be crazy; we have 12 or 13 matches. 10 of these will be in the next 2 weeks, since we have 2 tournaments, where we play 3 matches at both. I'm trying not to get too nervous but I'm always nervous before games, and with so many coming up, I'm hoping the girls will stay healthy and keep their positive attitudes. I guess I'll just keep hoping for the best and praying for no injuries. emoticon
Beyond volleyball things are going well. I kept busy today doing household chores like laundry and getting groceries. Than I graded some papers before taking my DD to a birthday party, which was in the middle of nowhere. I was honestly driving through a pasture to get to the house, but another mother volunteered to bring her home, so I got to have a couple of hours at school to finish up so other things. I now have both of my tests done and copied off for the week and all the Science paper graded, too bad I didn't get the Computer projects done. emoticon I would do them tomorrow but my DH is off helping our friend move and I'll be stuck at home with the kids, so I guess I'll just get my Volleyball articles written for the paper.
I hope you are all doing well!! Miss you emoticons!

Wow...I need to take a REST after reading about all that, Sunny! You are nothing if not a real human dynamo - wow! You manage to accomplish so much with just 24 hours a day, and I'm sure your DD appreciated your willingness to haul her through a pasture so she could attend that birthday party. You're as diligent a teacher and coach as you are a mom, really commendable! - Sandi emoticon

3 Won and 1 lost

Sunday, September 12, 2010

I've been incredibly busy and just haven't had time to do much of anything on SparkPeople, so sorry friends, but I'm trying. The only time I have a little free time is the weekends, but lately they have been full and busy also.
Saturday there was a Jr. High VB tourney here and it was the High School VB Team's responsibility to run the concession stand. I have helped with the school one but never been in charge of one myself, needless to say I was a little stressed out. emoticon Yet it turned out GREAT and we only had a little tavern meat left and then some bars. I tried selling some of the bars last night at the Car Show, but it looks like the girls will be getting treats after practice on Monday. I don't think that they will complain. emoticon
Keeping to volleyball, the Varsity girls on now 3-1!! emoticon We have passed last year's record of 2-22, so now the rest is Gravy. We really should be 4-0 but we had a few officiating problem at our last match that I should have been more vocal about, but I'm still happy with how they played and ready to move on to the next Opponent, which is going to be tough. If you are familiar with sports, you understand classes such as B, A, and AA, which is SD's. B is for the little school, A for larger and AA for the largest schools districts. We play an A school on Thursday, which doesn't mean we can't win, it just means they have more kids to pick and choose from and I have most of the girls who are in our high school. I just hope they keep up their positive attitudes and have fun. Who knows, maybe will be scrappy enough to pull off a win! emoticon
Beyond VB, I'm busy grading papers and getting ready for Homecoming this week. I'm the adviser to the 8th grade class and I'll be getting them ready to decorate a float on Friday, wish me luck or maybe for rain. emoticon emoticon
Have a wonderful week and thanks for checking in on me!! emoticon

State Fair Fun!!

Sunday, September 05, 2010

I have so much to blog about but I'll keep it to the topic of State Fair. We left yesterday morning and got home at about 8 pm tonight. The weather was wonderful!! emoticon The kids enjoyed the carnival rides and seeing all the animals and my brother's Performing Arts program was emoticon! We even survived sleeping in the tent. It was a little cool, but actually not horrible and of course the kids LOVED it!! My daughter wanted to stay another night but since I have volleyball practice on Monday and laundry to do it didn't happen; maybe next year we can stay 2 days.

I hope you are all enjoying your Labor Day Weekend and I'll blog more tomorrow about my volleyball season. Things are GREAT so far. emoticon

I got up early this morning, amazing what 7 hours of sleep can do for you, and I ran 4 miles and than did my crunches. emoticon emoticon I hope that I can keep it up during the school year. emoticon
The school day went fast and than I was off to volleyball practice. It was our last practice before our first match. I'm excited and nervous all at one time. I really hope the season starts off on a positive note and of course a win would be great; but as long as they do their best I'll be happy. emoticon We have another match on Thursday and than Friday is the first football game. It will be a busy school week and than we are heading to the State Fair to watch my brother's Performing Arts troupe. We are leaving Sat. morning, camping in a tent emoticon and than heading home on Sunday. The kids are excited and I'm just hoping for comfortable weather.
I hope you all have a great week and I'll keep updated on the volleyball matches. emoticon Thanks for stopping in! emoticon emoticon

emoticonHi there, Sunny! Wow - something to really look forward to! There's nothing more fun than tent camping for a young family like yours. How do I know? That's what our family used to do when we were kids, and decades later, my brother and I still reminisce about those happy days out in the woods :) Your kids will thank you for years to come!

Enjoy all these fun activities :) - Sandi emoticon

Satisfying Saturday

Saturday, August 28, 2010

I got a lot accomplished today. I ran 5 miles and jogged in another .6 miles, did my strength training, and my 200 crunches. After that I mowed the lawn, which was another 75 minutes of cardio, than showered and got groceries. Feed the kids and continued with the laundry, swept the living room and the kitchen and than rested for 20 minutes before it was time to get my daughter ready to go to her first out of town Birthday Party @ Chuck E. Cheese's. emoticon I could continue, but I think you probably get the picture of how my day was. I'm happy I got so much done, but yet there was more I wanted to do, which is usual isn't it?! emoticon
Things are calming down in town and I'm getting ready for my first Volleyball match on Tuesday. I get one more practice with the girls and than it the moment of truth. I'm hoping for a win, of course, but I really just want the girls to have fun and do their best. I'll try to blog and let you know how it goes.
I hope you are all doing well and thank to all my dear emoticons, who have continued to check in on me with my new and busier schedule. I'm trying to drop in and say at least a couple times of week, since I do miss you all.
Have a wonderful rest of your weekend! emoticon emoticon
