Busier than ever!

Friday, September 18, 2009

I haven't been around in awhile, but I definitely haven't been slacking, expecting maybe on my diet:( School has been back in session for over a month and I still don't feel quite back in the swing of things and I'm constantly running, or so it feels. I get up in the morning to workout, go to school, go to volleyball practice, come home, cook dinner, play with the kids, bathe the kids, get them into bed, grade some papers and then go to bed myself. Than the cycle repeats. It wouldn't be so bad but my son hasn't been sleeping very well, like last night, and sometimes I'm only getting 5 or 6 hrs of sleep. I can still function, just not as well as I would like.
So to get rid of one more worry, I haven't been as strict with my calorie intake as I would usually be. I'm still watchful, but I do more snacking than I should. I've decided I'll start to worry when my clothes start to not fit right. It might not be the most healthy way to go, but it is nice to relieve one stressor from numerous other things I have going on.
So don't take it personally, I'm still Sparking and trying to keep track of my friends here, but it will just be a little less often.
Have a wonderful weekend:) emoticon

Ah Sweetie, don't apologize for not being here as often as you would like. Your time is precious and you are in demand right now and settling into a new routine. Just have healthy snacks on hand and find 1/2 hour each day for you to just be.

We'll be here for you when you need the shoulder and cheering you on from this side when you need it.

Until then...enjoy every minute this weekend with your family and friends and give some of it to YOU. Hugs

Survived the Labor Day Weekend

Wednesday, September 09, 2009

Well we all survived the Labor Day weekend. The kids and I went to the State Fair with my sister, her husband and kids. We had a great time. The kids got to see the animals and ride the carnival rides. We got lots of pictures. Later us adults had fun up at the Beer Garden. Foreigner played at the Grand Stand, which we got to hear the end of and than the band at the Garden was really good too. I realized how much I miss adult night out. I will have to take care of that sometime again soon.
We took Monday off to relax and now it's back to school, which isn't a bad thing, except for grading the homework. It NEVER ENDS!!
Hope you are all doing well:)

I'm glad you had fun at the fair. I spent a lazy Labor Day weekend. The best thing was a Harley ride through Zion on Sunday. Yeah, the short week this week is awesome but I've got papers to grade too. An English teacher's paper stack is never done lol.

Mornings suck!

Monday, August 31, 2009

I know, I know, what a title, but that's how I felt this morning. I changed my alarm to 5:45 am so I could get up and work-out for 1/2 hr before school. Well after starting with my kids in bed with me, I should have known it would never work. I got my bed back to myself around 2 am and then my daughter was back at 5. The alarm went off and I went back to sleep. I did actually have time to work-out tonight for 20 minutes but tomorrow I have a volleyball match so that is not an option, I have to get up in the morning.
Oh how I miss my lax summer schedule! Well I guess I'll just have to continue to try to work into my new schedule:)
Hope you all have a wonderful night and maybe I'll get my bed all to myself, probably not but at least I can still dream:) emoticon

At least, for the most part, you kids never climbed into bed with me! But times and circumstances make for an uneasy transition for them. Hopefully they will grow out of this stage but until then, get as much sleep as you can!
Sweet dreams, Sunny!

When my daughter was small, she would climb into bed with me some time during the night. Once I knew she was asleep, I would sneak into her room or the couch. LOL She was a little marathon runner in her sleep and many times I got a swift kick from her while she did circles in her sleep so it left little options for me. Chased out of my warm big bed by a four year old to her toddler bed where my knees all but hung off the end. emoticon

New schedules or having to change a schedule is hard enough , but the adjustments you have to make now for being a single parent till hubby comes back is beyond hard.

Have I said thank YOU lately for the sacrafices you as a wife and mother make?
Thank YOU and hugs to your better half.

Back to the grind but TGIF!!

Friday, August 28, 2009

Well I'm back to the school grind and the last 3 days have been rough. I had forgotten how much work in involved with school, coaching, and raising a family all while being one parent done. I really relied on my husband a lot during this time of the year. When I'm coaching I don't get home until supper time and usually I would have some sort of plan and he would have it started. Well since he deployed, I have a lot more on my plate. My MIL helps wonderfully and so does the rest of my family but if these last 3 days are anything like what is to come, I'm going to be facing many late nights and hectic days.
Yet I know I'll manage and as soon as I'm back in the routine everything will be fine emoticon
Take care all and have a wonderful weekend. I know I'm going to emoticon

Wow. I can't imagine how hard it must be not to have your husband around to help you on a daily basis. I am so impressed with your strength. The first few weeks of school are always so exhausting. It's weird how we have to start over again each school year, building our stamina etc. Teaching and coaching are a lot harder than they look lol.

Here's to you and your family. My thoughts and prayers are with you

It takes time to adjust so give yourself a few more days. Getting back into a routine is good! Get a good night's sleep and I'll talk to you in the morning.
Want to come over and help clean chickens? LOL! Mom

Preparing for a busy weekend:)

Thursday, August 20, 2009

Well I haven't blogged in a while and since the kids are still sleeping, I figured this was as good a time as any.
My daughter's first dance recital is this weekend so we have been busy with dance practice all week. Tonight we have to be there for 2 hours!! Needless to say my in-laws are getting my son because there is NO way I could get the busy boy entertained for 2 hours while trying to watch the recital.
My best friend and his wife are coming to stay and go to the recital, so I have spent part of my day cleaning up their room and doing laundry. I can't wait to see them and enjoy the weekend with them, since on Monday I start the reality of being back to school;(
I guess summer did have to come to an end.
So to everyone enjoy the last bit of summer if you have it and I'm going to try to enjoy dance practice emoticon emoticon

The best memories come from moments like dance recitals. Enjoy your last weekend before school adds even more stress. It sounds like there's lots to keep you busy.

Enjoy your weekend and good luck on Monday
