Getting Better All The Time & Never Give Up

Friday, June 29, 2012

The last weight loss program that I started back in October was the one for me. I have lost 112 lbs in 6 months and I am feeling good. The only bad thing is that I have been on protein shakes for six months... so now that I am back on food... i need to remember moderation and portion control. I haven't had Coke Cola in all that time too... which is a success in itself. I personally know that I can never have a drink of Coke again because I will fall off the wagon in lack of a better word!

Starting AGAIN... YES.... AGAIN!

Friday, November 18, 2011

My husband and I are working with the local hospital to lose weight. We are NOT eating food. We only drink protien shakes. The physical part is not so bad. The shakes are working and I don't feel hungry. The hard part is the mental part. I miss eating food. It smells so good. I also miss the time with Tod while we eat dinner and talk about our day.

The program is working and I lost 25 pounds in three weeks and Tod has lost 35lbs in 3 weeks. We are focused and we will stay on track.

Wow, that is really hard! I remember my mom did that years ago, with great success. It was the brain stuff that did it in for her... Last year she lost 120 lbs with sparking. I'm trying damn hard to join the club. (not hard enough, 2 years in...) This is a great place to hash out your relationship with food...eventually you will eat again :) Best of luck to you and your hub!

Hit My 5% goal

Monday, January 19, 2009

I hit my 5% goal today. I am really happy about it, but I am looking forward to hitting my 10% goal more. I know that is a strange thing to say because we are all taking steps towards losing weight and 5% is a good number. The reason 10% will mean more to me is because last year when I started sparkpeople in January, I was able to hit my 5% goal and then I used my step fathers cancer as an excuse to not even try to lose weight. Plus... I think I used other things as excuses too. I let everything go in my life when it came to my well being. I realized I was great at excuses and this year I decided there is no excuse good enough not to excerise and stay on track. I also have another personal goal that is right around the corner and it is getting to the 270s. I haven't been in the 270 range for years.... and I am going to get there by next month. I WILL DO IT!

Didn't want to walk tonight!

Thursday, January 15, 2009

I came home tonight after work and I just didn't want to walk again. My husband said take the night off if you want.... but you will beat yourself up if you don't walk for at least 10 mins or so. I told him I was taking the night off and walked to the bedroom to get my jammies on... but I put on my workout clothes and headed to the basement. I was so determined to walk... that I ended up walking for 60 mins.

3 days down!

Thursday, January 15, 2009

It is so hard finding the motivation to walk on the treadmill every night after work and dinner... but I am getting it done. My cramps were so bad last night, that my husband said I should take a night off. I told him I have been making excuses all my life when it comes to weight lose, so I am not going to do it anymore. Granted I am a big talker right now with me just starting this past Monday... but you have to start somewhere.

1/12 - Walked 30 mins
1/13 - Walked 40 mins
1/14 - Walked 40 mins .... with cramps :)

I find that when I have cramps that while it is way harder to do the exercise in the end that is when it makes the most difference. It usually relieves them to a degree.

Congrats on three days (p.s. that sentence that downgrades your efforts "granted I am a big talker..." well stop that! One day is fantastic, two is incredible, and 3 is amazing. You are on your way to a new healthy habit. One foot in front of the other and you can't help but go forward.

Keep up the good work! You can do this. I started walking on a treadmill 12/15/08 and have only missed 3 days. Try walking first thing in the morning if you can. This has been easier for me and helps keep me motivated during the day to eat right.
