Philippians 3:12-14 "...press toward the goal... Jesus Christ"

Tuesday, December 21, 2010

My devotion for today continues to remind me to reach for my goal and that "all things are possible with God." (I just open my devotional to whatever page and always God provides me with a verse or verses that are meaningful for that day!)

"Not that I have already attained, or am already perfect; but I press on, that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of me. Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus."

My body is a temple for God, HE made me. I want to be the best I can be, for HIM. emoticon emoticon

Success

Monday, December 20, 2010

"Success is going from failure to failure without a loss of enthusiasm." Sir Winston Churchill

I'm glad Sir Churchill said this; sometimes it seems that is what I am doing going from failure (2+ steps backwards) to failure. I am determined to keep going though. I can do this - weight loss, better health, earn my state teaching certificate, organize/clean house! Ok, several goals - but I am on my way and with every failure I learn something and with every Success I am motivated to reach to the next success.

The last two weeks I substitute taught most of both weeks. I reached the 2+ mile walking on those days - SUCCESS. I was tired but still felt great knowing I was walking over 5000 steps on most days. I also lost 0.5 lb (there were several holiday events at the school and I ate more than I probably should have.) I am still happy I didn't gain any lbs. My new goal is to continue with the 5000 steps 6 days a week and get to 6000 steps at least 1 day a week. And lose 1 lb by the new year. emoticon emoticon

1 Corinthians 15:57

"But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory though our Lord Jesus Christ."

My verse for yesterday. I will have victory over my weight with God as my strength. Thank you Father!

motivation

Saturday, December 11, 2010

What is/are your motivation(s)? Why do we do the things we do? Everything we say and do are our choices. Where do those choices led us? How often do we actively think about what we say and do (beforehand)? What does this say about us? Do we live our lives for ourselves, others, God,...? What kind of legacy do you want to leave behind?

I want to leave a positive and affirming legacy for my nieces and nephews. And I want to be remembered as a good, God-fearing (positive), faithful, compassionate person. What choices do I make that lead me to that legacy? What choices do you make that lead you to your legacy and to every goal you have?

We never stop, life is continuous, a ongoing journey.

What are your thoughts? Choices? Goals? Dreams? Legacy?

Dream quote = motivation + inspiration

Friday, December 10, 2010

Hi, First thanks to those of you who read my blogs. It is nice to know someone is reading and liking what I write.

I read a wonderful quote last week (not sure who said it) "Dreams become reality one choice at a time." I found it on a bracelet, that I now where almost everywhere. This remindes me to take one step toward my healthy weight dream/goal with each choice I make. Each choice either brings me one step closer to my healthy weight or one step farther away. I can make my dream my reality. emoticon emoticon emoticon
