My Sunday

Monday, July 07, 2014

I marked everything off of my to-do list so today was a great day. I even walked 5.34 miles with my hubby. I didn't think I was going to make it since he had us walking up hills. I made it. I was determined to show him I wasn't a quitter!

Saturday!

Sunday, July 06, 2014

Well, this weekend has started off great since there were no basketball games for either child! How lucky I'm I? emoticon emoticon So what does a girl do with a basketball-free weekend? Paint her toes, watch a movie & wash her truck! Hubby & I went to see Think Like a Man Too. Great movie! Then, after dinner, I talked my teen daughter to go walking with me. Well, she rode on a scooter & complained about the bugs the whole trip, but I'm glad she came with me. Even though she expressed she would leave me if one of her friends came by & offered her a ride to the house.

Plans for tomorrow: church & meal prep for the week. Hopefully I'll get a jog in as well. Determined to lose 8lbs by the end of the month & run/walk a 100 miles!

Have a great weekend Spark family!

The story about your daughter cracked me up and brought back memories! We would "make" our daughter walk with us and she'd pout for about the first mile, and after that she'd thaw and start chattering like a magpie. I guess they need to let us know that "we're not the boss of them!"

You and your daughter are too cute. Glad she stayed so you and her could enjoy some "girl time" together.

If you don't lose 8 lbs, just be sure to take your measurements, as the scale is definitely not our friends. You should be losing inches like crazy. They say, every 7 lbs is a dress size.

So, I am agreeing with you in the spirit that you lose the 8 lbs by the end of July, in Jesus name...Amen. emoticon

July!!

Thursday, July 03, 2014

I can't believe it's July already! Time really doesn't wait does it??!! I've been very busy! I've been travelling with my kids to watch/support them with AAU basketball. Sometimes my food choices aren't the best during these trips. Let me change that sometimes to most times! I need to do better. A few more games before school starts again.

In June we celebrated my MIL's 86th birthday! She is such an amazing woman! She had 13 children & I married her baby!

I've joined a challenge on Facebook where we have to complete 100 miles & lose 8 lbs by the end of July. It's doable for me as long as I can control my food intake. I don't have a problem with working out, it's what happens once I'm done!!

Yesterday I did intervals & rode on the cycling bike and did ST. Great way to start off July!

Then today I did intervals & one hour of step aerobics. I'm somewhat tired today.

I need to get back to prepping my meals for the week. I didn't get a chance to do that this past weekend because we were in Fort Worth, TX at a basketball tournament.

Life happens so I'll roll with it & try to stay on track!

Falling in Love

Friday, May 30, 2014

I'm falling in love with running/jogging! I can't believe I just said that, but I am. I really didn't want to run today since TOM decided to make an appearance. My coworker was supposed to meet me but she didn't. Glad the other two women decided to show up. It's been raining on & off all day. emoticon Anyhoo, we decided to meet late. I wasn't thrilled about meeting late & had started cramping. The "old Tammy" had made up my mind I was going to get a bag of Ruffles & a roll of Oreos & watch TV. But the "stronger Tammy" spoke up & grabbed some Motrin & headed to run! So glad I did. Even though I didn't feel great in the beginning, I felt as if I had ran a marathon in turbo speed by the time I was done. LOL emoticon I'm getting better everyday!

Great work, we can always find "excuses" that we try to mask as reasons not to exercise and eat well, but the reasons to eat well and exercise are so much more important than that:

We only get 1 life, 1 body, we need to take care of this body to live the best life possible.

You are doing awesome, keep it up.

Thanks for sharing!

I'm Stronger

Sunday, May 25, 2014

I'm trying to improve in the area of running. I've done 3 official 5Ks this year. Freezin' for a Reason, Women Can Run/Walk, & Running Down Cancer. I'm currently training for a 10K but I'm not sure I'm going to run it. My son is scheduled to play basketball in TX that weekend & there's a huge reunion in my home state that weekend also.

This is a picture of me with one of my leaders of the running clinic! She's is such an inspiration!

Here are some of the lovely ladies I get to run with! We are determined & motiviated!!

Me at the Running Down Cancer 5K. I ran in memory of my friend Jessica Peters. It was also her birthday, May 19th. She would've been 41 years old. RIL my friend!

Take advantage of every day you are given. You never know if it's your last!

Good for you! I'm envious of people who can run...I can maybe go for 30 seconds and then my knees hurt and I can't breathe - we're talking a slow jog here, not even real running. You must be very proud of yourself, I think it's awesome!
