Another Try

Sunday, January 11, 2009

I gave the 30 day shred DVD another try today. Gosh, it's SOOO Tough! But I did it!
At this point, I know that I couldn't possibly do this DVD for 30 days straight. Not just because it's tough, but because I'd get bored doing the same workout. It doesn't matter that there are 3 levels, it's still basically the same. I need variety.

I ordered 2 new Step Aerobics DVDs. They should be in next week. I do like doing the step.

This week, I'm going to go back to doing the strength training with My Fitness Coach. Coach Nicole's Bootcamp Video's are a good workout, but I prefer keeping track of my workouts with the MFC. I'll work out the same body parts as the Bootcamp videos, but for 15 minutes a day instead of less than 10 minutes.

Here's to another week! emoticon

30 Day Shred DVD

Thursday, January 08, 2009

A couple days ago, I bought Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred DVD. 30 Day Shred is a 20 minute circuit workout. There is a 2 min warm up, three 6 minute circuits of 3 min of strength, 2 min of cardio, 1 min of abs and then a 2 min cool down.

I didn't try it out right away because I was doing the New You Bootcamp videos .

But yesterday I decided to give it a try.

The workout was tough! Oh my! Jillian isn't a fitness trainer, she is a drill sergeant! I've never seen the TV show the Biggest Loser so I didn't know what I was getting myself into.

Getting out of bed today was tough. I was sore in places I didn't know I had muscles. But honestly, it was a good feeling.

I'll give the DVD another try.........next week. emoticon

Yes, Charlene is right, it is me who has the 30 Day Shred. I must confess though, I did it twice (with about a week in between times) and haven't done it in a while. It is so hard! But, I think I will give it another try; I'm sure it must work. And, yes, some of Coach Nicole's videos are tough, also!

    Your Diet -----
For those of you who watch what you eat...
Here’s the final word on nutrition and health. It’s a relief to know the truth after all those conflicting medical studies.
1. The Japanese eat very little fat and suffer fewer heart attacks than the Americans.
2. The Mexicans eat a lot of fat and suffer fewer heart attacks than the Americans.
3. The Japanese drink very little red wine andsuffer fewer heart attacks than the Americans
4. The Italians drink excessive amounts of red wineand suffer fewer heart attacks than the Americans.
5. The Germans drink a lot of beer and eat lots of sausages and fats and suffer fewer heart attacks than the Americans.
CONCLUSION: Eat and drink what you like. Speaking English is apparently what kills you.

emoticon I heard it was tough!!! I think Nicole has those DVDs. I think I remember hearing her talk about it during on the the walks... I could be confusing her with someone else though.... I have an awful memory. But I do remember hearing those are insane! Great job for getting through it! I'm scared to buy it lol. Aren't the videos for the New You Bootcamp kinda tough? It's awesome I love 'em! But I'm SOOO SOOREEEE!!!! emoticon

Fitness minutes 2008 and goal 2009

Thursday, January 01, 2009

My total fitness minutes for 2008 is 5,021. I think that is excellent considering I only started SP October 4th. But the truth is, I know I didn't really do that many minutes. When I first joined SP I experimented with a lot of things on the site while feeling my way around and getting the hang of the way things worked, and my fitness minutes happened to be one of the areas that I experimented with. I don't know exactly how many minutes were "wasted" but I doubt it could be more than 500. So I think my actual minutes are still pretty high for the year.

My fitness minutes goal for 2009:
- Weekly 200
- Monthy 800
- Year 9,600

I can do it!

Even if you did "waste" 500 minutes that's still great!!! Those are great goals for the new year! Keep up the good work!
