The monster on my back

Wednesday, July 10, 2013

I am addicted to junk food like an alcoholic is to booze. For the most part I have control and can be around junk food without eating any.Recently my sisters in law took me shopping and had to stop in for cocktails which means,
fried wings, fried mushrooms and cheese. They are all grossly overweight and they have a habit of bullying me into abusing my health also!It pisses me off when they will push at me until I'm in tears. They say they've earned their fat.All six have diabetes!!Shocker is I stood up to them for the first time in 35 years!I ordered a skirt steak salad and a cucumber water. The looks on their faces was admiration emoticon and respect.I realized I've aloud these wonderful women to run the show.I look so funny when Im with them Im 5'2 and white they are 6'2 and black. We get funny looks and we just laugh.Im glad I decided enough is enough! emoticon SUSAN

Once when I was a kid, one of my mom's cousins offered to drive my bother and I home from church, but before we got off the lot, for some reason she stepped out of the car, turned off the engine, locked it and walked away to talk to someone. She locked it ! Without cracking a window !

We tried opening the doors but that thing was sealed shut ! We'd never been in a car like hers before and we were terrified. We tried banging on the windows for someone to help us but no one heard us. I had to calm my brother down and ask him to sit still so that he wouldn't use up all the oxygen left in the car.

Fortunately she got back before things got critical :( The minute she got back we opened EVERY single window, and PROMISED ourselves never to accept a ride from her EVER again.

Do call a cop. The car owner may be pissed off at you, but you might save a life.

This drives me CRAZY! I call the police several times a week about pets in cars (thankfully I haven't seen any children yet) and it absolutely kills me. Especially living in Arizona, I just can't see how people don't understand how WRONG this is?!

My vacation turned into maid service

Monday, July 08, 2013

My mother in law(bless her heart)is 92.She saves all the nasty work for when I come to visit.I cant stay in her house its so dirty and it smells bad. emoticon Her milk turns to cheese and the onions/potatoes dry up before she will allow them to be trashed.I don't ask I just get the bleach out and clean everything in sight!! emoticon July 4th we decided to have a real vacation just me and DH.She proceeded to cry and nag until we went to see her for a day.Well, that day turned into a week!!She had me go through her dressers, closets, shoes, purses, jewelry, blan
kets and sheets on the 5th. emoticon I cant say no!I love her a lot and she tried to pay me $300.Of course I refused, she is after all special to me.She has a clean house and carpets. emoticon We came home both of us worn out and slept like babies!I did get to go to the fitness center 4 times.BBQ is ok but they don't eat veggies and I had to go for some salad quinoa and fish. emoticon emoticon I went to pick up my dog and she is snubbing me for leaving her with my DD.I'm now cleaning my house while she relaxes on her cushion.I just got licked on my hand so she may be warming up a little emoticon I hope all of you had a fun and safe holiday emoticon SUSAN

How nice of you! We have not had a holiday yet, but I would not want to spend it cleaning. BUT it would be nice to still have my Mom! My mother in law has a maid, a big help.

Bless you for giving up your time off! I hope DH pitched in as well since it's his mother as well, you know. I cared for my in-laws until the day they passed so I know what you're going through...they only lived 1 block away so it was a constant for 5-6 years.
Get some rest & make today a special one for yourself! emoticon

my grandma is like that. she asks my aunts to do stuff all the time, but the grandkids will get offered money. Her house is clean and no old food, or bleach needed, just a collection of stuff. She does not haoard but stuff just collects because people leace stuff when they visit.
The great grandkids also get a kick out of seeing all the neat stuff at her house

I know what you mean about old people. My DHs grandmother used to serve us tea in cups that already had dry tea drip marks on them. I used to always wash her dishes before I left.

You are a saint for doing all that work for her. My mother always said that if you do something nice for someone, you'll be rewarded tenfold. I've often found that to be true.

My grandmother's cat used to snub her--He would actually go around with his nose in the air and my grandmother would have to do all his favorite treats to get back in his good graces---LOL That was nice of you to do that for her---I am sure she has a hard time keeping up with stuff at her age.

Keep kitty inside

Friday, June 28, 2013

I know a lot of you don't agree but,so many bad things can happen. We have found kitty remains from owls eating them, hawks will eat kittens and they get ran over. Our neighbors down the street let their Persian kitten outside and she ended up at my doorstep.I spent an hour knocking at doors before finding her owner! She is not spayed!!4 months old and she can get pregnant.I scolded the neighbor and told her all of this but she just said "It's my daughters cat anyway"Like that gives her the right to neglect it.It is skin and bones.I'm sorry I had to turn her in to ASPCA.It didn't feel good to do but too many animals have unfit humans! emoticon emoticon SUSAN

If you have any pet, you are supposed to take care of it. I do not care if it belongs to a young or old child. I would do the same thing. Poor kitten.

I'm so glad you found the owner. Of course, some people really shouldn't be allowed to have a pet. They're just too neglectful.

I don't know how old the "daughter" is, but I'm sure she just wanted to have a cute kitty. All kids want to have a cute pet to cuddle. what most don't realize is how much work it takes to care for a pet. which is why some people shouldn't have pets.

Glad the kitty is now safe. I'm sure it'll have a better home soon.
