We used to go to a curry house where the waiters all seemed to lose their backsides. It didn't disolve mine though!
Congratulations on needing support for your trousers.

A scary and close call!

Wednesday, February 06, 2013

My DH and I were outside getting some fresh air.The wind was so strong it was moving us along.I heard a crunching, moaning, groaning sound and looked around.I did'nt see anything. We turned to pick up some fallen branches. All of a sudden a huge tree fell to the very spot we had been standing seconds before!!!!Neighbors came running to check. My heart was hammering in my chest,I had leaves all over my hair and clothes. My DH turned to me and hugged me hard.Honey,he said someone's looking out for us today!!I know who!We sat down for a few minutes in the swing holding each other just glad to be alive after our close call..... emoticon SUSAN

So glad you're safe! What a shock!!!!!

We live in a forest with tall Douglas Fir and Ponderosa Pines all around our house. When we get a wind storm, I just have to remember that we are in God's hands.

That is scary! Luck was on your side, for sure! I remember driving home on a very windy and dark/foggy night when I was young- I came upon a tree that had fallen across the road and couldn't stop in time to avoid it. My car crashed into it- and surprisingly, through it! The tree had come down because it was dead/punky. Thank goodness. I remember that heart pounding like it was yesterday.

I too feel grateful for being able to walk and exercise ; and do the things I like. One never should take life for granted, changes can happen anytime---so enjoy every day as much as you can.

Old cemetary vandalized

Thursday, January 31, 2013

Im at a loss,of why would a person be thinking of vandalizing a cemetary! In Waco Texas vandals created $200,000 in damages to headstones. They desecrated baby graves, cut the heads off angels with saws and turned over marble urns. But,not before spray painting F-words and toilet papering trees and bushes.I was especially bothered by this because my parents are gone. I cant imagine how that feels to find your loved ones graves destroyed. emoticon SUSAN

Teens being jerks. That's what. I'll bet a bunch of them were out drinking and this is what happens. They'll find these kids quickly. It won't take long before someone posts a boast on FB about what they did.

PS - Something similar happened here in Boston. Saw it on the news. Someone defaced three churches with a spray painted sign that said,"brainwashed".

😡Of all the senseless things I hear about, vandalizing cemeteries is one I those I understand least! We've had several vandalized in our area over the years and it breaks my heart everytime!

Most likely was done by younger, city kids who don't have enough to keep them busy. Back when youngsters had to work to help Dad on the farm, and go to school during the day, they were too exhausted to get together and destroy things just of the sake of destroying. The very sad thing is, even if they are caught, they will probably get just a slap on the hand, and be right back out there, roaming the streets.

Very sad commentary on today's society and parents who give their kids too much freedom and not enough responsibility. Children need to grow up with a sense of respect and reverence. How many young persons these days (or children for that matter) attend church these days? They sure don't learn respect and reverence in school, like we used to when we were kids.

Very, very, sad indeed......... emoticon

He came at me like a mountain

Saturday, January 26, 2013

I was walking in the park when I heard someone frantically calling STOP BUSTER!!COME NOW!!!I was thinking that some little kid was giving his mama trouble.I looked up and here came the biggest dog I've ever seen in my life!!He was a big hairy great dane/wolfhound mix heading towards the busy road.I was so scared but I reached out and grabbed his leash. He was panting and pulling. His mama came up,crying and Thanking me.She was hugging and laughing and crying all at the same time!Buster was like trying to hold onto a train,I was very brave to do that because big dogs terrify me.Anyone have a dog story to share? emoticon emoticon SUSAN
