Husbands doing housework...priceless!

Wednesday, December 12, 2012

One day I mentioned to my husband that it was so nice when he did a chore for me.Cooking, cleaning, laundry are all things I am responsible for.I wash all 3 cars, take care of maintaining them, clean them out, register and get them inspected.I do lawn work, plumbing, change the ac/heat filter and help alot with the garden.I keep all of his meds re-filled and placed in the weekly containers for him to grab and go.I clip his toenails and sand his feet/lotion them.I have dinner on the table daily and I actually have friends that think im ridiculous...really?Thats men's work they say.He loves and adores me back and decided that he can put clothes in the washer and dryer, turn them on and fold the finished laundry. He's a fantastic cook and washes dishes like a pro.He sweeps, mops and washes toilets too.He just started pushing the vacuum and dusting!Whatever I do he has tried!!I told him that with his help theres....more time for us emoticonHe's seeing an all new light emoticon and im getting more help than ever!! emoticonSUSAN

To your wallet!!So,recently over the summer our 10 year old side by side refrigerator with water and ice in the door broke down.It costed more to repair than get a new one/warranty.When getting out of the car at Best Buy on Saturday we agreed that ONLY a fridge would be delivered.HA!!!!But honey he cooed I've always wanted a 60 inch flat screen LED.5 minutes later not only did he apply for a card and was approved,he added a Boze surround sound theater system.Who was that masked man? While checking out the sales lady smiled and asked So,who is the system going to?My charming DH answers her with "It's mine, she's getting the fridge!!!!!I think the sales lady held her laugh in.Because she saw the cold stare of frozen daggers! She secretly handed me a $100 gift card and said here go buy yourself some cd's.Merry Christmas! It was nice of her but,I hate bills!! emoticon SUSAN

We did that with a TV and Bose system and paid it off quickly, it was 0% interest for a year and we paid it all within 9 months. Hopefully it will be a nice Christmas. THAT should last for a while!

A visit from beyond?

Wednesday, November 28, 2012

I first became aware of my fantasy world when I was about 5.I had make believe pals that I lost track of time with. When I was 7 years old and lonely as heck,I was out riding my bike when something caught my eye down the forbidden dirt road identical to the one we lived on.There was an ominous looking gate complete with a rusty chain and a sign stating No Trespassing!!!Someone had came by and shot up the sign and it sported rusty bullet holes. There was a part of my brain yelling dont do it and another part wanting to know what the big deal was.I scrambled over the gate and walked down the road, heart pounding and scared to death I rounded the driveway and spied a beautiful angel like girl around 5 years old.Her brother hid behind a huge dusty cedar tree, peeking at me.Hello,I smiled im Susy...She smiled back and said Im Cherry and thats Ben she pointed at the shy boy.Cherry looked like an Angel to me.She had fluffy golden blonde hair and wore a white eyelet lace sundress. There wasnt even the smallest smudge of dirt on her dress.I would have had that dress filthy I was such a tomboy.Ben wore a cornflower blue shorts overall and a red/navy/tan stripe shirt under it,His Keds tennis shoes were red.I sit here and remember like it was yesterday.Cherry was so feminine in her mannerisms. She hummed and braided my hair with daisy flowers.Where are you from I asked,She winked and laughed, from here silly.I just stared at her. While Ben ran his toy car up and down the porch rail she and I talked quietly because her baby brother Adam slept on a blanket.I was bursting wanting to ask so many questions.Ben made a farting noise and I laughed loudly...he joined in while Cherry's eyes blazed and she shushed us to quiet down.Ben never talked just smiled shyly and made buzzing noises. In the weeks to come I kept my visits a secret.Mom had made it clear I was NOT to go near that gate.I hurriedly did my chores daily and snuck off to visit Cherry and Ben.One strange thing I noted was that I never saw either of them wear anything different and their clothes were always clean. Two weeks had gone by and I had never met or seen the parents of the two and baby Adam.I was the only one of 5 kids left at home since my siblings were away at bible camp.I had been sick right before they left and Mom thought it best not to let me go!I did'nt care I was having a blast.Mom sat talking to me while she asked who had braided my hair.I changed the subject by dazedly watching a butterfly and jumping up and chasing it.Some neighbor friends of moms dropped by for iced tea and soaps and I eased off to my blissful friendship.I was so unhappy that day,Cherry and Ben sat on a patchwork quilt sipping from a beautiful tea set.I sat down admiring her beautiful hair and long lashes that looked like fans resting softly on her cheeks. Not one time did they seem to notice I was there or even look at me.I got up and left rejectedly.Suuuuuu-ZEEEEEE,I heard mom hollering, where are you?I was sad but happy to see my siblings had returned!Mom eyed me suspiciously and said where were you? Before I could come up with a story,My brother yelled"she's sneaking over to the Jacob farm playing"With who?mom demanded. My throat felt like I was drinking dust instead of milk.Cherry and Ben I mumbled.I thought mom would lose herself she was so mad.STOP making up stories she yelled.I'm not I swore. You are grounded young lady!!!I crept away with my head which was a plus and went to our bedroom.I soon became bored and ventured outside. My Grams and Granddad drove up and I raced to hug them.We all ate dinner and I was asked to come back and sit down.Suzer, was Grams nickname for me,describe the children you saw.I did and knew I was in trouble by the look on Grams face.Do you know she asked that, the farm house you describe burned down?I just shrugged because I'd seen the farmhouse. She told me to put on my shoes and we rode to the cemetery. She asked me,pointing to a headstone,Is that the kids you saw?The angelic faces of Cherry and Ben smiling from framed Photos shocked me from the core! How?The date was July 5th 1961 when they died from drowning. The day I was climbing over that gate was july 5th 1967!!Im sure I would have heard the water and gone down to the river and possibly drowned myself.Cherry and Ben prevented that from happening by keeping me company until my brother and sisters returned home.Eventually mom walked over to the Jacob farm with me to show me the house was gone.My Grams and her mother and her mothers mother were considered seesayers.I was gifted with my insights and abilities to see the future up until I was 20 when a spirit walked right by my living room and warned me to my daughter dying of crib death. When I walked into the room my daughter was not breathing and the room was cold.I felt warm hands on my shoulders while I performed CPR.She is alive today Thanks to my Mom's mama(my Grammy) stopping in on her way to Heaven. She had just died of cancer!!Believe it or not I dont care.Angels are everywhere! emoticon SUSAN

Ok, I am a bit spooked. It is an interesting story though. I had seesayers in my family too, but my mother put a stop to that at a young age. I sometimes have insight into people that others don't.
Angels are everywhere and sometimes we are lucky to encounter one.

Its crazy out there!

Tuesday, November 20, 2012

I would like to take a moment to remind everyone, here on Spark that we are all trying to ready ourselves for Thanksgiving. It's crowded in the stores as well as the streets. When you start feeling grouchy and mean, take a deep breath and tell yourself...It's just temporary,A smile,a compliment,a laugh is better and helps your ego better than letting your blood boil. The experts say(LOL)that when we smile and laugh our bodies release feel good endorphins.I take my neighbors granddaughter Molly Christmas shopping every year to get her memaw a gift. She is 10 and has more manners than some adults. She pulls out carts, holds doors and smiles the whole time.We stopped in at McDonald's (her fave place)to eat and she sang to me:)The elderly lady we sat by clapped for Molly. Your Granny taught you well!Molly just laughed, looked at me sheepishly and said Yes she does everyday. All she gets to do when she visits is play video games. So,they trust me to get her out of the house. She is sorta like exercising a puppy to make it tired.I love her so,I dont mind.We went to the movies and had a blast. She is leaving next week and I've got alot planned for her. They are a poor family and I enjoy spoiling her while she's here.Happy Thanksgiving Ya'll emoticon SUSAN

Look at those annoying and obnoxious individuals, and tell yourself "That person is having the worst day of their lives today, they need forgiveness and an example to live by." It is a life changing experience every time!

The jury duty MOUTH!

Monday, November 19, 2012

She stood up and got sworn in,it was my 4th day as a juror.I thought...she is a cute kid.She was all braces and blonde curled hair. They sat her next to ME!We cant talk during a session. She proceeded to whisper, being shushed by many of her peers.I was listening intently when she passes me a note!Is she for real?I'm ignoring her when the bailiff walks up.No talking! he gives her a stern look.As soon as he returns to the front...pst..pst..pssssssst!!She pokes me in the leg...I need to pee!I held up my number and told the bailiff we need a break.Little miss Sunshine runs to the ladies room.Everyone was buzzing about her.It felt hurtful to hear but,she was being silly. She returned and started getting loud about the soda machine.I sat her down and spoke to her about contempt of court. She actually listened and was a model juror the rest of her day.I told her"I dont know about you? But,im not going to be fined or jailed on Thanksgiving day"You are a grown up so no more notes or whispering"This isnt a joke,it's serious and the judge is giving you the Stank Eye.All it takes sometimes is a gentle and kind voice to make someone listen.
I wasnt prepared for a Mothering session today but she changed her tune. The other jurors asked me what i said to her.I answered that I treated her with respect and kindness!! emoticonSUSAN

Good for you for speaking to this young woman and setting her straight. Hate to say this, but I've seen older adults exhibit similar behavior in court. The last time I was on jury duty, I was in the room waiting to see if I'd be called. I've been through this before, so no big deal for me. However, you wouldn't believe how "inconvenienced" those other people in the room were. So, I'm glad you did your civic duty.

Of course, bummer that you've been stuck on a jury for four days ! That must be some case. EEK !
