It is a great thing to give to the people that are in need. Please understand that we are Not gathering the food to re-sell!!It is taken to the food pantry and bagged up for peoples tables to feed their family. We have had several snotty, rude, ugly comments.here are a few...Let them get a job or tell their lazy butts to go beg on the corner,Im sorry I dont bust my butt to feed other people! Why dont yall give me some of that food,im needy!!There are so many people that are not capable of working. They are sick, out of work, hurt, homeless. We dont judge! We do however think that the mean hurtful comments are undeserved and rude! One lady tried to give us coupons from the paper and when we said we needed non-perishable food items. She threw them at us!!?Called us Uppity and gave us the finger/bird.To spite them folks we collect thousands of pounds of food that may last until close to Christmas.Soldiers, police,Doctors,Dentists
,etc.Come out to help and its back breaking work.We also collect coats for Warm Coats from Warm Hearts!Last year we washed, sewed buttons and holes and repaired zippers to thousands of coats and there was 25 of us doing it.Whatever help you can give,Give it.You will feel so good about yourself!!!xoxoxoxox SUSAN

Well was pushed would more fitting a word! And before anyone comments on what a horrible person I am.She is 18 and living with her big sister. She was not going to college and was refusing to do anything to help me and my DH.We did make her pay us gas money and she griped about $5 a day.SO,I made her take a cab home one night when i was on my back in pain.$17.50 later she was not only furious at me,she couldnt believe a cab was that costly.I had to cut the umbilical to our connection. She was yelling, telling me off and just being plain disrespectful. Not a bad word was being said to dad and a light bulb moment arrived,it was because he wont tolerate it like i do!!!!The moment arrived when she called me LAZY and SELFISH!I turned ten shades of red and drove her butt to buy storage containers and moving boxes. She was waiting there in line expecting me to pay and I turned my head and ignored her. When we arrived back home,i said "Now get busy packing"She tried wooing good ole mom by apologizing profusely but enough was enough!I started putting her boxes in the car while she bawled and snotted all over. Her sister stood in the doorway laughing at her."She must've had enough huh?Alisha is my oldest and she's tough on her sisters but 3 so far have came through her doors and became better people by having to do for themselves. She dont tolerate SLACKERS!Now,we have the house to ourselves and are LOVING it.My DH has even been happier, less stressed and we have been going on dates.I had basically been so busy driving my dd around back and forth to work he sorta got neglected along the way...not anymore! He cooks and cleans and helps with laundry!!!HAHA,I should have pushed Kayla out months ago SUSAN

There she sat one chilly October morning looking at me with those puppydog eyes.I looked around and did'nt see anyone. How is it that the Lord picks me to rescue a creature?I was running late for my appointment and threw the little dog a crust from my daughters breakfast sammie. It took what felt like forever to see my doc,get my meds and rush back to the dog.She whined and ran up when I knelt down.I quickly scooped her up and felt bones and fur matted to her skin. She yelped but, knew I was saving her.The fury in me was boiling when I noticed a rope embedded in her neck.I quickly called my friend Percy at the shelter."Bring her here" Percy said.I bundled her in my jacket, put the harness around her and put the heater on her. Some higher power knew to give me all green lights and my old hooptimobile drove like a champ all the way!!I got there and Percy ran out to greet me.Oh no he cried she's so malnourished! Her ribs are poking through. The real shocker was she was pregnant!!We worked with her for weeks. She was like a maltese mix, brown and white and about a year old.
I gave her the name Angel because, the harness had made her fur look like she had folded wings.Well on the up side I was fostering her and contemplating keeping her when my elderly friend Jenny lost her precious dog Sparkie.I brought Angel over for some affection and Jenny fell in love and adopted her.Angel delivered 5 pups and only one survived. We all see puppies and want one but let me tell you they are a commitment.Do not get one unless you are financially capable of food and vet care. They need walking and lots of LOVE and play.I go monthly and volunteer my time, pet food, blankets, walks, toys and clean cages. If it were'nt for people like me,they would not be able to keep their doors open.Anyone non-allergic to animals can help! By the way it is a no kill shelter!
