I have been away due to my computer having a virus, plus I have been gardening my heart out!Babysitting and visiting my sick friend Daisy.I have now got a patio JUNGLE!It started out small but has become BIG.I have not been paying much attention to my diet and have lost a few pounds. My summer clothes are loose.Me and DH went hiking and brought some driftwood home to landscape with.Next we are going to get some large mossy rocks to make a grass garden/flower bed.My DD is almost done with high school,Friday is her last day!!She will have a month and a half to bask in the glory before her ceremony.I have my outfit and sd cards all ready to go!!LOL,it's so exciting.I have to go pick her up in a few so,have a great day!!! emoticonSUSAN

Taylor is dying

Tuesday, April 10, 2012

She was tiny, pale, bald and a genuine smile lit her face.Uh hum she cleared her throat nervously I am Taylor,im 8 and have non hodgkins lymphoma.I am here to walk a mile for miss Susan and mama. She went on to explain her fight with cancer and the crowd cheered!I was planning to cheer her on at the sidelines but ended up joining her on the crowded walk. She was wearing a pink tee, tennis shoes and jean shorts.A happy flowers hat sat pertly on her small head and she smiled and waved at everyone yelling our names. She was on crutches and her mama and myself lifted her part of the way on our backs.People handed us juice and or water and said GO TAYLOR!!she just beamed with pride...she wont beat the cancer ,it has ravaged her tiny body and she is tired but,I'll never forget her tenacious personality and love for humankind...she is and always will be a winner!! emoticonSUSAN

So sad isn't it when young people die way too early. Our good friends just lost their 40 year old daughter to lymphome. She left 2 young sons behind.

Sounds like that child is living more and doing more for others in her brief life than most of us who do or will living long lives.

LOL..I had a Laughter meltdown!

Thursday, April 05, 2012

My DH is a total farmer and Im glad because I love fresh veggies and pretty flowers. The problem?Theres only 24 hours in a day!DH,DD's wants my attention and so does the dog/grandkids/friends.Yesterday I was doing 10 things at once.I was cooking dinner, folding clothes, trying to calm my dd on the phone and being nudged by the dog for her food.My DH was perched on the swing hollering whens dinner? My DD was bawling she dropped her cell phone in the toilet and to come put my hand in there and get it??My temper was flaring when a bird flew in,sat upon my fridge, looked me square in the eye, flew out but not before, leaving some poop on my shoulder!!My dog ran through the kitchen after the bird and knocked my DD down.I started to yell and instead laughed so hard both DD and DH came running to size me up for a straight jacket.I laughed for what felt like hours.I dried my tears set the table and served dinner.I didnt answer my phone 7 times so,my other 2 DD's came running..one had her hair in rollers-LOL-the other was in pajamas. They looked so funny I laughed some more!My ribs are sore today! emoticon emoticonSUSAN

Pre-Empty nest syndrome?

Monday, April 02, 2012

Kids have been my life since I was 12!I have raised, taken care of and or housed 22 kids in my life.My youngest is going to graduate in June and I am pretty sure,Im ready!Lots of people have been giving me the "oh you poor thing"pity..Sure,it's going to be different going to having a house full,to me,DH
and the dog. Some people act as though I should be grieving already!!She's not dead people just moving out!I dont know what its like to NOT have kids in the house.I'm sure I'll survive it though.Alisha says MOM WE KNOW WHERE YOU LIVE!And she's right they drop over every few days to eat dinner! We have sleepover party weekends all the time.ANYONE have experiences you want to share about empty nesting? emoticonSUSAN

Well…. When my first one was preparing to go to college out of state, I THOUGHT I'd already dealt with it because he'd spent most of the last year visiting his girlfriends house (a girl from church), spending more time with her family than ours. So when the time came, DH and I drove him from Illinois to Oklahoma and unloaded the vehicle/trailer. It was so hard to leave and when we finally got on the road headed back, DH & I were both in tears.

Fast forward to the last kid. When DD decided it was time for her to buy a house and move out, I kept telling her she didn't have to be in a hurry - by this time she was basically my best friend. Everyone - DH, his therapist, and others were all concerned about me and how I would handle it. This time it was no problem. The house she bought was only about 1.5 miles away, and in the beginning she continued to eat many meals with us, etc.

NOW, I'm really enjoying a house with no kids. It's just DH, me, and a cat. We 'have' a dog, but it's housed with DD because she's home more than we are and dogs just require more attention than cats.

Anyway, I'm sure you'll do fine.

What I find interesting is the little things that will pop a memory up that makes me miss them more (and they've been gone now for over 11 years). In my case, none live close and for me to see them requires me to travel to them.

Hey 2 pounds is recoverable, sometimes life gets in the way I went from 246 lbs down to 173 and back up to 207 after my boyfriends mom passed away. Sometimes it takes some time befor you get back to putting yourself first. You seam to have a handle on jumping back in and takeing just one step...it will lead to another. Even thought the bad things in life snowball good things do too. ( I hear you on makeing a healthy meal..Today my dad turned his nose up at the turkey sausage i made for lunch.) I hope your wrist gets better soon.
