The joke was on them!

Friday, March 23, 2012

My oldest DD(Alisha,35)has this habit of always looking at my head and telling me I'll soon be all gray.DD number 3(Ashley 21)laughs and says yeah Mom,get a dye job!My response?Let her without gray hair cast the first stone! So I got up went around, looked at Alisha's head spied a sparkly gray hair and pulled it out, handed it to her and laughed heartily.Ashley started to run and I grabbed her, plucked one out of her scalp....Who needs a dye job again?I laughed at the looks on their faces and it was worth the MOMENT.A few minutes later I spied them in the mirror...PLUCKING! emoticonYou can hide but you cant run from GRAY hair....hehehehehehe!It serves them right for always telling me I'm gray....be careful what ya say....besides they helped turn me gray! emoticonSUSAN

Funny! I've never turned gray, though, thanks to a wonderful hairdresser. Now that I think about it, I have no idea what my natural color is, and I have no plans to find out.

I am a patient person but....

Saturday, March 17, 2012

I actually got 7 hours 30 minutes of sleep the first time in 3 weeks!I feel much better today except for a little green skin color! At least I match the day!!I was going to sit down and redo a faded watercolor painting but my ungrateful kid had to have a haircut and I conceded, not wanting to hear her mouth...We were having Subway when she had forgot she put her name down on the sign in sheet.I told her just to go on and I'd finish my lunch...No,I had to come with her.People,I am having symptoms of back pain that sits right there above my arse...Can I hurry up?No, my back hurts or I'd sprint there!!We arrived only to learn she had taken another customer...It was all my fault, she was pissed, she turned away from me like...I had personally called and told her hairdresser to skip her!I made a joke...she rolled her eyes...I told her it was not like she couldnt wait a few minutes....She clucked her tongue...I got up and left!!!
I didnt answer her calls or texts!I browsed Sears and bought some shoes,a necklace on clearance for $2 and some bras for $4...I had cooled down so I went back to wait for her...Wait! you went to sears without me???Yes,Sears is about 50 feet down that way,I answered pointing my finger...she slouched down in her seat pouting so,I created a scene...I said how dare you talk to me like im the child?Say another smart ass comment and you will ride the stinking bus!!All the ladies in the salon clapped for me!Not realizing they heard us I apologized...Laughing,the owner said it was about time!Dont get me wrong she is an excellent young woman and I love her very much. She has became a demon from teenager hormones and i am peri-menopausal and standing up for myself at last.....She apologized profusely and I accepted but I sat her down and had a long talk with her at home...Pray for me! emoticonSUSAN

Reminds me of the h3ll I put my mother through. She was a saint to put up with me! Perhaps one of the reasons I don't have kids. Good job standing up for yourself! We need more moms like you!

Especially considering you've got a pretty painful back condition, she was doggone LUCKY that you were so generous to her! Recently, I heard a media psychologist say that adolescence seems to be extending well into the late twenties (YIKES!!!)...so I'm glad you're standing firm with this kid. WTG!!! Good parenting, and good, healthy assertive behavior on your part.

Words can hurt !

Thursday, March 15, 2012

I have a friend..Sara,that is a good soul. She just happens to have a friend thats so superficial I want to GAG!She puts Sara down and boldly declares us to be obese. If we go anywhere with her to eat she eyes every morsel we bite into. Are you really going to eat all that chicken?Isn't that too much spinach?I turned on her yesterday...having had enough of her constant berating. What's wrong with you?Dont you think we have it hard enough? Are you always this unfeeling? She looked shocked!N-n-no...her lips and chin quivered.I was just trying to help!I apologized and told her she had to watch her words that they can hurt!Trust me she knew because a few minutes after we stepped into her home and saw the pictures of her at 425lbs,I wished I could disappear.I felt horrible and she told me she needed to be put in her place so,she could remember and not JUDGE others. She showed us some scars from her body lift and said she'd had a gastric bypass 10 years ago.Why did she hide that from us when she knew both Sara and my struggles with weight?I guess it felt scary to admit she was human and had been where we are.Just remember that before and when you make your goal weight, tell anyone and everyone...It shouldnt be hidden!BE PROUD..... emoticonSUSAN
P.S.I still dont like her friend, but im trying!

Maybe it's just me, but I would refuse to spend so much as a second with this insensitive witch...mostly because she's just so duh-mmmmmb. I'd try to see your friend when this piece of work isn't around. You're not responsible for the fact that she's a waste of protoplasm.

I don't think you had anything to feel bad about. She should know from being overweight herself that that kind of talk doesn't help motivate anyone. Good for you for speaking up.

What a balancing act it is, to try to understand someone when they seem to make it so purposely hard to do so.

Good luck as you try to find your place between this friend and her friend.

there is nothing harder to accomplish than empathy.

like the cat playing with a bird, our nerves are not hooked up to the ones feeling the pain, so of course, it just doesn't exist. only our own, that's real enough!

and we are the only ones running the world.

it's all in the process of growing up.

so this friend of your friend's needs a high dose of understanding and making connections to the (her) outside world. my guess is she has none.
