Hey 2 pounds is recoverable, sometimes life gets in the way I went from 246 lbs down to 173 and back up to 207 after my boyfriends mom passed away. Sometimes it takes some time befor you get back to putting yourself first. You seam to have a handle on jumping back in and takeing just one step...it will lead to another. Even thought the bad things in life snowball good things do too. ( I hear you on makeing a healthy meal..Today my dad turned his nose up at the turkey sausage i made for lunch.) I hope your wrist gets better soon.

Be careful what ya wish for!

Growing up I was skinny, wore hand me downs and worked hard as a kid.My Uncle Don's wife,Gloria was a hard assed meanie that had everything perfect in her home, including her precious identical twin Shirley Temple look-a-like daughters.Holly and Polly had dimples, corkscrew curls, long lashes and the perfect outfits.Gloria hated me with a passion and I didnt ever know why.I adored my uncle, sitting for hours on his lap, listening to stories.Gloria was a beautiful woman but had an iceberg where her heart was meant to be.Oh,she loved and adored her twins...they were stars! She put them in modeling at age 2 and never allowed them to get dirty. They were mean hearted also, often showing off new toys,jewelry,clothes,shoes,candy..etc.We werent allowed inside their mansion and they werent allowed outdoors around the LIKES of us kids.I grew accustomed to Glorias sharp and mean spirited tongue. She was a photographer by trade and often took pictures of all the kids but me.She despised me.I was loved by her husband. My cousins grew up taunting and teasing others and acted just like their mama. They were home schooled and so they never developed a personality...Just mean and meaner! My Grams said the twins would be staying for a week while my uncle and Gloria went to visit her parents.Grams said show them how to have fun!At first they acted like dirt would kill them.We went to the river to swim and they couldnt even dog paddle. They slept in silly gowns with feathers on them and sleep masks.Where do we sleep?Right here Grams said pointing to a huge pile of quilts...LOL the look on their faces...We had an enormous blast that night...Ghost stories, chocolate cake,popcorn,cokes...The twins laughed themselves silly...It came a thunderstorm and we all got the drips but, slept great...Gram woke us to cinnamon rolls the size of a soccer ball, frying bacon, ham, pancakes and chocolate milk. How could Grams weigh 89 pounds? We attended Church together and sang our lungs out,ate thick ham sandwiches with mustard and chocolate cake and tea, went fishing and slept hard under the shade trees.Gloria was livid with rage and accused my Gram of turning her daughters savage..They had braids in their hair!!Gram soon gave Gloria a piece of her mind.Love and fun was all kids wanted...we didnt see the twins again until Grams funeral and they were so uppity and rude.I went to leave when, someone grabbed me from behind muffling my shreiks...It was Holly and Polly...They hugged me tightly explaining their moms attitude.Oh I knew her hatred towards me sure enough.Fast forward a few years...My Uncle recently emailed me asking if his twins could contact me.First came Polly's letter about never feeling Love from their mama and then Holly telling me the most fun she ever had was with us for that week.Uncle Don was their haven and they loved him so much growing up.Gloria passed away last month and though she never had showed me one ounce of kindness...Im sorry for her daughters for the love they never got from her....She hated me for no appearant reason and I never cared because I was Loved!I didnt need fancy clothes and toys and a mansion to show me I was LOVED...Just hugs, kisses and a roof was enough(even though it leaked)I actually wished to live like they did when I was small,I wished for all they had...Be careful what ya wish for! emoticonSUSAN

Yep, your so right! What goes around, comes around. They probably wouldn't have been so mean, but they learned that behavior from their mother.

What a great blog. You are a wonderful writer....I could just visualize Gloria's reaction to her twins after their visit. I am so glad you had the love and they had their dad.

The joke was on them!

Friday, March 23, 2012

My oldest DD(Alisha,35)has this habit of always looking at my head and telling me I'll soon be all gray.DD number 3(Ashley 21)laughs and says yeah Mom,get a dye job!My response?Let her without gray hair cast the first stone! So I got up went around, looked at Alisha's head spied a sparkly gray hair and pulled it out, handed it to her and laughed heartily.Ashley started to run and I grabbed her, plucked one out of her scalp....Who needs a dye job again?I laughed at the looks on their faces and it was worth the MOMENT.A few minutes later I spied them in the mirror...PLUCKING! emoticonYou can hide but you cant run from GRAY hair....hehehehehehe!It serves them right for always telling me I'm gray....be careful what ya say....besides they helped turn me gray! emoticonSUSAN

Funny! I've never turned gray, though, thanks to a wonderful hairdresser. Now that I think about it, I have no idea what my natural color is, and I have no plans to find out.
