I am a patient person but....

Saturday, March 17, 2012

I actually got 7 hours 30 minutes of sleep the first time in 3 weeks!I feel much better today except for a little green skin color! At least I match the day!!I was going to sit down and redo a faded watercolor painting but my ungrateful kid had to have a haircut and I conceded, not wanting to hear her mouth...We were having Subway when she had forgot she put her name down on the sign in sheet.I told her just to go on and I'd finish my lunch...No,I had to come with her.People,I am having symptoms of back pain that sits right there above my arse...Can I hurry up?No, my back hurts or I'd sprint there!!We arrived only to learn she had taken another customer...It was all my fault, she was pissed, she turned away from me like...I had personally called and told her hairdresser to skip her!I made a joke...she rolled her eyes...I told her it was not like she couldnt wait a few minutes....She clucked her tongue...I got up and left!!!
I didnt answer her calls or texts!I browsed Sears and bought some shoes,a necklace on clearance for $2 and some bras for $4...I had cooled down so I went back to wait for her...Wait! you went to sears without me???Yes,Sears is about 50 feet down that way,I answered pointing my finger...she slouched down in her seat pouting so,I created a scene...I said how dare you talk to me like im the child?Say another smart ass comment and you will ride the stinking bus!!All the ladies in the salon clapped for me!Not realizing they heard us I apologized...Laughing,the owner said it was about time!Dont get me wrong she is an excellent young woman and I love her very much. She has became a demon from teenager hormones and i am peri-menopausal and standing up for myself at last.....She apologized profusely and I accepted but I sat her down and had a long talk with her at home...Pray for me! emoticonSUSAN

Reminds me of the h3ll I put my mother through. She was a saint to put up with me! Perhaps one of the reasons I don't have kids. Good job standing up for yourself! We need more moms like you!

Especially considering you've got a pretty painful back condition, she was doggone LUCKY that you were so generous to her! Recently, I heard a media psychologist say that adolescence seems to be extending well into the late twenties (YIKES!!!)...so I'm glad you're standing firm with this kid. WTG!!! Good parenting, and good, healthy assertive behavior on your part.

Words can hurt !

Thursday, March 15, 2012

I have a friend..Sara,that is a good soul. She just happens to have a friend thats so superficial I want to GAG!She puts Sara down and boldly declares us to be obese. If we go anywhere with her to eat she eyes every morsel we bite into. Are you really going to eat all that chicken?Isn't that too much spinach?I turned on her yesterday...having had enough of her constant berating. What's wrong with you?Dont you think we have it hard enough? Are you always this unfeeling? She looked shocked!N-n-no...her lips and chin quivered.I was just trying to help!I apologized and told her she had to watch her words that they can hurt!Trust me she knew because a few minutes after we stepped into her home and saw the pictures of her at 425lbs,I wished I could disappear.I felt horrible and she told me she needed to be put in her place so,she could remember and not JUDGE others. She showed us some scars from her body lift and said she'd had a gastric bypass 10 years ago.Why did she hide that from us when she knew both Sara and my struggles with weight?I guess it felt scary to admit she was human and had been where we are.Just remember that before and when you make your goal weight, tell anyone and everyone...It shouldnt be hidden!BE PROUD..... emoticonSUSAN
P.S.I still dont like her friend, but im trying!

Maybe it's just me, but I would refuse to spend so much as a second with this insensitive witch...mostly because she's just so duh-mmmmmb. I'd try to see your friend when this piece of work isn't around. You're not responsible for the fact that she's a waste of protoplasm.

I don't think you had anything to feel bad about. She should know from being overweight herself that that kind of talk doesn't help motivate anyone. Good for you for speaking up.

What a balancing act it is, to try to understand someone when they seem to make it so purposely hard to do so.

Good luck as you try to find your place between this friend and her friend.

there is nothing harder to accomplish than empathy.

like the cat playing with a bird, our nerves are not hooked up to the ones feeling the pain, so of course, it just doesn't exist. only our own, that's real enough!

and we are the only ones running the world.

it's all in the process of growing up.

so this friend of your friend's needs a high dose of understanding and making connections to the (her) outside world. my guess is she has none.

My dd is driving me up a wall!!

Wednesday, March 14, 2012

My DD kayla is a hypochondriac! She will fake a blister,a headache,a cramp, dizziness and nausea any day of the week.Until...her friends come knocking!A few weeks ago she started telling me her heart was pounding, she felt dizzy, and she could'nt catch her breath and I couldnt take any chances.I took her in to see her doctor. He totally acted like an A--Hole,like I had made her sick and had munchausen by proxy syndrome...LOL..his attitude sucked!I very calmly told him I dont bring her in every time she farts....Plus she is very talented at milking any ailment she has..She is a senior, has a job and has been draining my positive energy...She's perfect anytime she wants to go out with her buddies...They took every test known to man!!NOTTA!!a social worker/Therapist came in,talked to her and determined her to be depressed and anxious???She knows I have it and wants to mimic me.You just cant have a problem when you dont want to do something or go to work!!The patterns are too familiar,I am an observant mom.She has missed so much school they are transferring her to an alternative school now.Its right there within reach too!She can walk and she's now limping around!!!!!I am beginning to get angry at her and am having a way hard time holding back on bitter comments.I am normally happy and outgoing and now Im an intovert! Please help if you have any advice...No Marthaspeaks,I wont pay her bill! emoticonSUSAN

Never had to deal with anything like that, thank goodness. The other advice given sounds good, but not being on your end, I don't know how easy it is for you to do. But it is certainly worth a try.

You need to keep all your positive energy for yourself.

My mom experienced very similar things with my oldest sister, who also has anxiety and depression. However, after attending her support group, she's learned not to let Natasha run/control her life. Many times, (and it's hard not to) you feed to her drama by letting it corrupt you; now, when my sister (who's 28) throws tantrums, my mom walks away or refuses to talk to her until she's calmed down and can be an adult. Your daughter is old enough to know that her actions have concequences and you need to ignore her when she goes on these sprees of seeking attention. If she really is that sick, then she doesn't need to be texting/on the computer/with her friends. Don't let her control you!

  Hi,

Hang in there. My stepson is the same way. He always has some sort of aliment. My husband took him to the ER/Urgent care 6 times in one month. I think he is trying to get his hands on pain killers plus he is all about being the center of attention. After a visit to a Neurologist and ENT, he was told - nothing is wrong and didn't get any drugs. Luckily, since then the 'health' drama has stopped - going on one week so we are due for an outburst. The sad part he is 21!! UGH... Anyway, what has helped me - when he is whinning around the house, I just ignore him and talk about something else - totally difuses him. Maybe that will work for you??

Good luck...
