Attitude
The longer I live, the more I realize the
impact of attitude on life.Attitude,to me,
is more important than facts.

It is more important than the past, than
education,than money,than circumstances,
than failures,than successes,than what other
people think or say or do.It is more important
than appearance,giftedness,or skill.It will make
or break a company...a church...a home

The remarkable thing is we have a choice everyday
regarding the attitude we will embrace for that day.We
cannot change our past...we cannot change the fact that people
will act in a certain way.We cannot change the inevitable.
The only thing we can do is play on the one string we have,
and that is our attitude....

I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me and
90% how I react to it.And so it is with you..we are in charge
of our own attitudes"

I am strong

Thursday, March 10, 2011

As a child i was a scrawny little thing that was underweight! From the age 5 i was constantly stalked by a pedophile uncle by marriage, raped by a close cousin at 11 and moved from one broken down, leaky roof, cracks in the walls so big snow came in them houses that i lost count.I married my best friend at age 17 and was completely loved but didnt love myself.I was so untouched by my family that my husband would give me touch therapy! He would get me on his lap and hug me like a child gently rubbing my back and telling me you deserve love and kindness and soon i came to trust and give him my heart. My nightmares started at age 20 and continued until last year,When i found the most wonderful therapist.I layered myself with fat to protect the little girl inside not,to protect me!Thats when i was able to move forward I slipped back down that slippery slope of comfort 2 times but am in it to win it this time!!!I am strong and determined and will pervail in my fight for my life.

big aha moment

Wednesday, March 09, 2011

I didnt realize that throughout the 6 years i've been walking a certain route,That my neighbors noticed when i did or didnt walk.yesterday as i was pruning some bushes,i heard a clearing of ones throat and a timid "excuse me"startled i turned to find a neighbor that waves once in a while standing there."It's good to see you out on the road again" he was smiling down at me and"a few of us were wondering about your quest"Quest?Im not sure what you mean sir.well,he replied our streets have paths worn in them and we thought you had given up your quest to make them deeper!we both laughed! My wife and neighbors see you everyday walking that path and we've watched you slowly melt and you have inspired us to get going too!we retired and cant seem to understand how the weight crept up on us.we talked a while longer and before he left said we are glad you are back and waved goodbye.my husband laughed but i had an AHA moment!

There's never a dull AHA moment with Sparkpeople! I've had several in such a short time...particularly at work where my office mates are watching what I'm eating and when I'm going to the gym over lunch time.
