Seriously,am I out of line?

Tuesday, December 27, 2011

I went to Wal Mart today to replenish my fresh fruits and veggies. As soon as I arrived, got a cart and headed towards the clearance racks(I buy my grandkids extra clothes to help)I spied a young boy of maybe 2 years crying and clutching a blanket wandering through the womens clothing.Keeping my distance,I leaned down to his level.Hi,my name is Susan, are you okay?Sniffling he answered yeah.Wheres Mommy?I ant know he replied.Well, lets get someone to find her, okay? He just threw himself into my arms crying out his heart. The manager tried taking him and he clung onto me like a baby monkey...LOL.. After 30 minutes of paging all parents, she arrived quite angry! She snatched little CHARLIE up very roughly and shook him.Thats when I noticed bruises all down his arms and legs and back!..SNIFF..Charlie reached out for me!She turned on me and called me all kinds of mean names...Try minding your own GD business B*TCH!Charlies face was red and he began screaming. The police arrived with CPS and took the baby and arrested mama because she was drunk and driving to top it off.Several bystanders remarked that I should have minded my beeswax and left the baby alone but,Im not that person that stands back and wishes I had done something. The mama of Charlie was eating in McDonalds while he ran around and got lost...what if a pedophile had found him instead of me?The manager gave me a $50 gift card for being a good samaritan...I accepted and bought some toys for the childrens ward at the hospital and held some babies(my friend is a labor and delivery nurse)It feels good to know i helped out a little bit...... emoticonSUSAN

Obviously the "Mother" is a horrible example of what a Mother should be but what really freaks me out is that otherwise (I am assuing rational) bystanders thought you should have left the child alone. Leave a crying little one alone? Are they crazy?! I hope all turns out well for the little boy.

Hopefully, that child will be put into a safe environment and his mother will get some help. She was drunk. You can't take anything she said seriously. You really did the right thing.

Also, whenever someone tells me I should mind my own business, I tell them this quote from Edmund Burke,"All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing."

How many acts of evil were committed because someone decided to mind their own business ?

I'm proud of you !!!

No question about it: you were NOT out of line. Some people should not have children and that lady is one of them. The bruises indicate it's not her first time neglecting or abusing the kid. Why wasn't he eating, too? Bless your loving & generous heart.

NOT out of line at all. Our society needs more people just like you. Your story is so frightening, though. This boy little boy has a very rough road ahead of him. Makes me sad that there are so many wonderful people out there that can't have kids and would be great parents and then there are those that shouldn't have the privilege/ability to reproduce.

You did the right thing; good for you and for that poor little boy. I'll keep him in my prayers. Pat

I am an animal magnet....The barking I heard was frantic, hoarse, excited!Mocha my 14 year old chocolate lab goes overboard when she sees another dog.Not to kill or eat play. So,finally after all her insane actions,I went out to investigate. There sitting on our trash can was a very tiny kitten!MEOW she said very a grown cat.She wasnt afraid of me when I walked over and picked her bony body up.She batted at my hair and looked me right in my eyes.Meanwhile...Mocha the wonder dog was hopping and barking her silly self ragged.I leaned down with the frail kitten and let her sniff it...She licked it and it pawed her nose!It was shaking with cold so I brought it inside and fed it some kitty formula(from my buddy that fosters them)laid her on my lap after she got full and placed a heating pad on a blanket. She just looked at me...curled up in a ball and fell out...sleeping for two hours!I called my friend Cat Lady and asked her to come get the kitten.Ok she said but it'll have to be tomorrow.Oh no my granddaughter is coming over!I laughed and said well it could be worse.Aaliyah held, kissed, fed and loved HER KITTY until she left.Crying all the way home my daughter said.Miss Kitty wandered all over the house as if to say wheres my little human? She loved Aaliyah asap and never scratched her even once. She can be a rough little girl.I told my daughter if she takes her to the vet,I will buy all her Kitty needs! This is where the story veers off...A knock on my door...Hi says the young woman,my name is Melly and I lost a tiny gray kitten about 3 days ago...almost in tears she showed me the picture...She's here I said...she is???I got the kitten from her was like Melly won the lottery! She looked at me and said Can I have a hug?Of course! I laughed...Melly tried to give me $50 for the kittens care but,I wouldnt take it.I was just glad to have Miss Kitty safe and back home. emoticonSUSAN

Seafood Gumbo for Christmas dinner!

Tuesday, December 20, 2011

To spite my injured ankle,Im having fun!The party for the old folks was a hit,They sang, danced and ate pizza and turkey, everyone recieved a gift and nobody was sad!!I went and bought the new baby a ton of things she needs, got my house cleaned and bought the ingredients to Christmas dinner...Seafood Gumbo!Yes,im stepping outside the turkey and dressing we usually have.I want to be with everyone and not stuck in the kitchen. It's SUPPOSED to be sunny and 50 on Christmas day so we are all going to take a long walk after dinner. We'll see because usually the family picks a spot and goes to sleep while I walk.
My doctor is really pleased with my blood pressure going WAY down!Even my husband is helping out by using less salt when HE cooks.
My youngest is skipping classes and trying to place the blame on me?
I just laughed at that strategy of guilt tripping.
Me and my walking group had Subway yesterday,we had so much fun
and they have lost weight!
However you can stay healthy and happy this Holiday Season,Do it!!
I wish you all the greatest week,Enjoy yourselves! emoticonSUSAN
