A Hot Summers Night

Thursday, July 07, 2011

After the sun has gone down me and my daughter go outside and talk. She hates the heat and wont darken the door when the temps are above 90.She is a big hyperchondriac and has been since she was small. We have a $50 8 foot pool she has gone into one time.We even shaded it to make a sun break for her!one minute her stomach is cramping and the next she is eating junk food....HMMM anyone got or had the same problem with kids?she feels awful until her friends come calling,,,,, emoticonSUSAN

I say, call her on it! Ask her if she is a hypochondriac! She may need to experience this level of name-calling to understand how annoying this habit is, and to learn that you've been on to her for awhile. Honesty is ALWAYS the best policy, even if it's abrasively honest at times. Best that it comes from you first, before her friends start avoiding her because of it.

GOOD LUCK!

How about making some rules in the house like asking for permission to take stuff.. My teenagers know if I purchase something special they still have to use good old common sense and ask..
Teaching grandkids manners away from mom and dad also helps them not to get into trouble out in society in other social scenes understanding what is yours and mine..

Me too. Just tried the mint and love those too. Have you seen the SC "candy bars"? I saw them at Walgreens. The ones that look like turtles (rice crispys with carmel and chocolate) are the best. 120 calories per bag. Yum!

Stupid is as stupid does

Tuesday, July 05, 2011

I admit I do stupid things but what the heck is wrong with some teens? There was a 15 year old that soaked a marijuana cig in gasoline and lit it intending to smoke it!I was so shocked that he wouldnt put flammable and gasoline in the same sentence!!!He likes to sniff gasoline therefore he thought his "high" would be more intense...hmmmm....He has gotten away with his life minus his eyebrows and lashes plus burns on his hands...OH BOY!! emoticonSUSAN

Now there's a kid who NEVER had to mow lawns to earn money! Mommy and Daddy have probably given him an allowance for doing nothing, which he blew on the pot in the first place, and once he completes his REALLY stupid task, we'll be paying his way for the rest of his life while he collects his disability checks.

Susan, you are receiving official congratulations from me. I've gotten really good about controlling what I eat, but I still haven't reached the point where I could choose grilled chicken over crispy chicken wings. The only way I can control this one is to stay away from KFC. You are the Spark bomb!
