my big girl pants are going away!!

Wednesday, June 22, 2011

I have gone from size 16 to 8/10 and I finally had to give away my "just in case I need them pants!" I am cautiously optimistic this time but nothing is going to stop me now!I was modeling some summer dresses and kayla said mom!!! yucky!! They are quite large on me now too! I was belting them to make them fit emoticonMy feet have also shrunk to the point my sandals have to go too!....Wishing you all Happy Wednesday!!! emoticonSUSAN

Playing like a kid

Tuesday, June 21, 2011

When we were children,we had alot of responsibilities! We were considered extra hands on my grandparents farm.Work before play was the motto. So,up before sunrise, feed the chickens, cows, pigs, etc.Eat breakfast,go to church each day(granddad was a preacher)come back and start really working. We cleaned the house, chopped wood, picked fruit and vegetables, hauled hay, worked in the garden and mowed grass.Grams fed us well and loved us but it was the same everytime we came to visit. But,no different than at home.We were busy doing something all the time. When Mom gave the green light to go be kids...POOF we were gone.We ran to the creek or river and played till we were worn out!We built forts, rode bikes, played games,baseball,kickball...you name it!But,my favorite thing was to play out in the rain!!Mom knew it was going to rain but she would have us do an"indian rain dance"so we thought we caused it to rain!My mom loved the rain playing. It's fun to get out and play like a kid now that i'm 51 and can still play.My grandson asked me on Fathers day,Why isnt your hair gray like my friends grandma's?And,you're fun too!I just had to laugh!I guess it helps alot to keep playing... emoticon emoticon emoticonSUSAN

cleaning house is exercise?

Monday, June 20, 2011

Recently while chatting with a friend,I mentioned that I was going to clean my house and burn some calories! She laughed and said that doesent count!I showed her a pamplet from my doc's office and it blew her away!It isnt going to do a whole lot for swimsuit season but, every little bit counts!sweeping, mopping, laundry, dishes, vac
uuming, dusting, raking, mowing grass and washing the car are all counted as calorie burning! So why arent i the proper size??? emoticon emoticonSusan

I do believe housework DOES burn calories. My Mom was always cleaning, baking, etc. and even today at 94 yrs old she is thin. Today, I washed my inside windows and vertical blinds. Doing that and vacuuming makes me feel warm. So, yes, I do believe it's exercise.

in the headlines:KICKED OFF A PLANE?

Friday, June 17, 2011

The young man kicked off the airplane for his "SAGGING" pants is crazy!I dont want to see his BOXERS anymore than you do but,it should not be double standards!!Females that flaunt thier bodies by revealing thier bosoms, thong panties and ultra short skirts or dresses/shorts where nothing is left to the imagination. We live next to an army base?FT.HOOD and you see it all at the px,comissary!Heck when we were first in the military,We could not step foot in the stores in less than appropriate attire!No-flip flops,no-shorts,no-head scarves no-rollers,no-pajama's BUT,our world has changed and now it's okay to dress as you want most of the time. That young man had his rights violated!I think the sagging is crazy myself but,we are a nation of different people with different views and it's high time we accept what cannot be changed to suit others.I hate Hypocrisy!I would never step up to any of you and say your clothes are wrong!! emoticonSUSAN

    Interesting...where?

There was a big deal about the woman who would not take off her burqua to get her driver's license picture taken.

So where, exactly, should this line be?

Seems like the airlines are taking a lot of liberties these days. I don't condone cursing but a man got kicked off the other day for saying a bad word. Really? Are we not all grown ups?

I sort of agree with you, but I also think that if some dress codes were started AND enforced, people wouldn't go around looking like SLOBS.
Now it is a disgrace the way some people go out in public.

Have you seen the photos of "people at (BIG chain store) YEICKS, it's a total disgrace and if they see themselves I pray they are embarrassed no end and will think about how they dress before leaving their homes. emoticon
