When i'm not feeling happy and upbeat, which is rare,I try to keep to myself or speak very little to my husband and daughter. They hover around me and worry but,I tell them this too shall pass!I dont have to always be laughing and joking!!I took a book and went outside and I thought my hubby was going to have a stroke looking for me!So,I have to cheer up for his sake....the big baby! emoticonfriends!!

I, like you, is an upbeat person. Sometimes I crave solitude - that is why I get up early - for a time for ME!!!

I know what you mean! Sometimes it seems like those times when you just need some personal space they don't get it, and they start worrying needlessly. Then they are so attentive that you get even LESS space and less time to think yourself out of a funky mood!

I think you should find a new place to hide, and keep the game of hide and go seek going a little.....if just for laughs!

Saturday, May 14, 2011

I love to take my daughter shopping because we have a good time and laugh alot!!But,I dont like shopping for myself! My mind is still back there in the plus sizes and I never liked anything that didnt cover me up!It takes alot for me to give in and try clothes on and then I like what I see!!It's the getting myself psyched up and in the right state of mind that's difficult. My underwear have to be bagging on my butt before I'll go get more....It makes my hubby mad but,I can't help it!Maybe I need shoppers therapy...My daughter gripes at me to get new stuff and I will but not...YET!! emoticon spark friends!!

it's hard when there is a long way to go...but a few pieces will see you through most days, it's just the functions that make us squirm.
I use mail order for underwear, that way I can order without seeing anyone's face!
best wishes, Sandra

My favorite is Goodwill for tween sizes. I've found some great jeans -- good brands -- for only $3. Best part is they're already worn/washed some so nice and soft!! Maybe later when I reach my goal will I go out and buy new. My DD gave me a mall gift card "to buy something pretty when I'm ready" So sweet!!

I love to walk, so walking the malls just for the exercise and to scope out the clearance racks is my idea of a good personal therapy day. My best friend looked me in the eye one day and said "You are SO CHEAP with YOURSELF!" Astonished and hurt, I asked her to explain. She told me "You are the most generous person I know when it comes to your family, friends, acquaintances, and strangers, but when it comes to yourself, you're so (insert expletive here) CHEAP! I wish you would treat yourself to something you love, instead of what you need, or find on sale once in awhile."

This comment goes through my mind almost every time I'm shopping now, and while I haven't gone crazy buying stuff for myself, I have improved on the frequency and quality of purchases for myself.

I completely understand "holding out" on buying new clothes while you're still in the shrinking phase, but the feeling you get when you've just put on an outfit that isn't too big, and you leave the house, and someone notices????? PRICELESS!

So, start with some new underwear, and see if he notices....then hop over to the Salvation Army for some clothes that hug you a little if you can't (or don't yet want to) spring for brand new. You WILL be glad you did, and you WILL have some new go-to items in your wardrobe that WILL result in motivating you further.

I'm cheap, trust me!

I like bargains. Regular shopping is okay but anything I can get for a steal tickles me. emoticon

Hey you are not alone. I loved to shop at the Salvation Army and one of the reasons was if it didn't fit, it was cheap enough to throw out. Didnt have to try it on or return it.
Recently had to. Pants were falling off as I walked.

Oddly enough I can now go to both sides of the store. My top is still plus size and my bottom is the other side. LOL the only bad point of the trip was when the customer service rep said that it was good that I had lost so much weight that I could shop on the RIGHT side of the store.

Everyone hates change, in one way or another. You no longer fit into her previous definition of "mom" in that you are no longer sedentary and predictable. This, in itself, is good, and progressive toward you becoming who you want to be, and being a mentor for how your daughter will someday deal with her own evolution of growing. Keep your trend, keep your momentum, and keep laughing at the nay-saying attitude along with keeping the offer open to join you. I also suggest that you try to give a verbal report on what she might have seen/experienced had she joined you. (I saw the most beautiful blooming forsythia. You missed a glorious sunrise! etc) Doesn't hurt to "accidentally forget" something 3 minutes into the journey and sneak back into the house to make sure she's not doing something she shouldn't be doing while you're on your walks or bike rides too. Knowledge is power, and priceless when it comes to keeping kids safe and on track.
