Couch-to-5K W7D1

Monday, November 30, 2009

I tried W7D1 outside in the cold yesterday. It wasn't super cold (45), but I couldn't do it. I had to walk twice to catch my breath and even then I only made it 20 minutes. And my pace is incredibly slow. I'll be using the treadmill for my next 2 runs since it will only be in the 30's this week in the early morning. I know I'll be able to do it on the treadmill and at a faster pace than outside. Maybe I'll just have to finish C25K on the treadmill and then I'll work on pushing myself to go faster before I try it outside again.

I thought, after getting through week 5 and 6, that week 7 would be a piece of cake. I was wrong!
I'll be repeating week 7 this week. Much like you I just couldn't keep my breath/feel the pace for days 2+3. They tell me it I'll just go out tomorrow and try week 7 again!

Good for you that you're setting your goal and continuing to work through the obstacles!! Way to go!! --The hills and my pace have me so incredibly discouraged with my "running form," but I'm pretty determined to get there!!

Go for it!! emoticon

It is remarkable the difference cold weather and being outdoors makes, isn't it? I will do W7D1 tomorrow. I think I'm just going to do the treadmill, like you, and move outdoors once I've gotten my speed up a little on the treadmill.

Halfway there!

Tuesday, November 24, 2009

I am exactly halfway to my goal weight! Losing the first half has left me feeling better, eating better and looking better! I make much smarter food choices now and I find it a lot easier to keep active now that I found exercises I like! The holidays are upon us, but that won't stop me from reaching my goal on time!

Couch-to-5K Week 5 Day 3 (more like Day 2)!

Tuesday, November 17, 2009

Today was supposed to be Day 3 of Week 5, but my lungs had no intention of running 2 miles in this cold! So I repeated Day 2 instead. Not to mention that I've never run 1 entire mile, let alone 2. Not even in high school gym when they time how long it takes you to run a mile. I always walked more than half of that mile. Maybe I'll use my treadmill on Thur for the 2 mile run. Then there won't be cold or hills to worry about!

Help with Nutrition Facts!

Wednesday, November 11, 2009

I'm eating out at Applebee's tonight so I thought I would look at the menu online and make my decision beforehand. However, their website is down due to the Veteran's Day internet traffic. I've googled for (and looked here on Spark) the nutrition facts of the Steak & Portobello Mushrooms dinner from the Weight Watchers section. All of the results say it is 330 calories with 10 grams of fat. Does anyone know if that means just the steak and mushrooms? Or does it also include the side dishes?

Thanks in advance!

Belly dancing!

Monday, November 09, 2009

I love belly dancing. I've just begun the classes, but it's so much fun. You learn to get really comfortable with your belly and to have fun with it and make it look sexy! It also is motivating me to do more ab work so I'll have better control for the belly rolls and pops. And it's good exercise too!
