Level 11

Wednesday, May 30, 2012

I just hit Level 11! WooHoo! Now it will be a rather long grind until I reach the next level. I figure if I earn 30 points a day it will take about 5 1/2 months to get there. That's a long time. I hope to hit that by Dec 1. At that point I should also be much closer to hitting my weight goal as well. It would be nice to have a mid-way goal so I'll have to think on that and see what reward I can come up with to keep focused for that long.

Update

Tuesday, May 29, 2012

I reached my goal of getting to Level 10 by May 1; in fact, I think it was a bit earlier than that but I don't remember exactly when I did hit it. If anyone knows how to go back and see that let me know. And, now I'm about to hit Level 11 in the next day or so! The weight is finally coming off and I can feel a difference at -10 pounds. And, it seems I don't feel the need to eat quite as much as when I started, yet I am still satisfied. I've been doing lots of reading on Sparkpeople and I can say I'm quite sure that has helped me stay on goal. Also, I've been trying to get a bonus spin every day...again, more reading and more paying attention to the whole process. Very helpful I think in getting me where I am right now. Recently, I've also been trying other people's recipes and that sparks things up as well. If you are on a plateau try investing more time to hit your goal from all these different angles if you haven't been doing this already. Use the Other Goals feature too. I've noticed that when I get to earn a point it helps to make me do it.

Adding A Goal

Thursday, March 01, 2012

I just reached Level 9 today which really doesn't mean much since it was a start and stop kinda thing over the past couple of years. So....

My new goal is to reach Level 10 by May 1st. If I reach this goal it will be more of an accomplishment to me and indicate some level of consistency.

New Beginnings

Tuesday, February 21, 2012

I've been in this place before...after not keeping track of anything for several months the weight has come back on emoticon. So, beginning in early January I started swimming again 2-3 x per week. In mid-January I added walking one mile every day. I've kept up with that pretty well but no weight has come off. I was talking with SIL about what she was doing for Lent and it occured to me that the missing piece of the puzzle might just be that I really do need to keep track of my calories et al so I'm back! It worked for me before and so I'll devote the time to tracking my exercise and calories for the next few weeks and see if I can repeat the success I had before with this program. Reading articles and other's experiences was really helpful too in making me mindful. So here goes...

New Trophy!

Thursday, May 27, 2010

I finally reached the next level! I'm so happy! I've been fairly diligent; have had many ups and downs and still find myself learning about making the better choice. Old habits are really hard to change! My biggest food challenge is to begin my plate with fruits and veggies then add the rest. I also have to keep working at putting off the desire for the unhealthy stuff. In the fitness area, consistency is a struggle so my goal is to walk for a minimum of 15 minutes every day. Once I get outside, I'm fine and readily go for 25-45 minutes, depending on how much time I have. I'm working a lot more these days trying to increase my income so I have less free time than before but, most days I should still have at least 15 minutes to walk. I hope to get a long streak going but, today I started over and have a streak of 1. So, there are still pieces of the puzzle yet to figure out so that I can reach my weight and fitness goals. By the time I reach the next trophy perhaps I will have some new insights!
