I cheated and weighed in today. I lost another 3 pounds!! Zumba is working!! I love it and look forward to doing every morning. I'm finding that I have to really like and look forward to the type of exercise I'm doing. It has to be convenient for me and not cause to much knee problems. But I also have to be consistent. That's the only way I'll see results. If I am hit and miss with my exercise, it shows on the scale.
I'm trying to find the "secret" for my body. That means to find what helps my body shed pounds. It's a combination of exercise and calorie consumption, but, what is the combination I need. So far it looks like at least 45 minutes of cardio a day and a calorie consumption of between 1400 and 1500.
After all the yo-yo dieting I've done, it feels good to see some downward movement on the scale. But, the major test will be getting below 250 pounds. For the past 10 years I have been losing the same 10 pounds and staying between 260 and 250. But I have not gotten below 250. It seems like it wouldn't be that hard. But it really has been.
I know the stopgap has been my thinking. I would give up easily if it took too long to get under 250. Or if I would gain after I put so much effort in, I would get discouraged. I have gotten to week 3 before, but never to week 4.
So again, here is to small accomplishments. I'm going to get past week 4 for the first time and under 250.
I'll have a drink (of water) to that!
