I cheated!!

Tuesday, June 07, 2011

I cheated and weighed in today. I lost another 3 pounds!! Zumba is working!! I love it and look forward to doing every morning. I'm finding that I have to really like and look forward to the type of exercise I'm doing. It has to be convenient for me and not cause to much knee problems. But I also have to be consistent. That's the only way I'll see results. If I am hit and miss with my exercise, it shows on the scale.

I'm trying to find the "secret" for my body. That means to find what helps my body shed pounds. It's a combination of exercise and calorie consumption, but, what is the combination I need. So far it looks like at least 45 minutes of cardio a day and a calorie consumption of between 1400 and 1500.

After all the yo-yo dieting I've done, it feels good to see some downward movement on the scale. But, the major test will be getting below 250 pounds. For the past 10 years I have been losing the same 10 pounds and staying between 260 and 250. But I have not gotten below 250. It seems like it wouldn't be that hard. But it really has been.

I know the stopgap has been my thinking. I would give up easily if it took too long to get under 250. Or if I would gain after I put so much effort in, I would get discouraged. I have gotten to week 3 before, but never to week 4.

So again, here is to small accomplishments. I'm going to get past week 4 for the first time and under 250.

I'll have a drink (of water) to that!

Woo hoo! WTG! I can relate - a certain weight can become such a barrier, mentally and otherwise. I truly believe that, once you break that body, you'll see even better results. There's just something about getting past where your body has been so comfortable to make the changes really kick into higher gear. All the same, don't be afraid of a plateau - as long as you are doing what works, you KNOW there will be a payoff. And the longer it is in coming, the bigger it will be.

Still on track!

Monday, June 06, 2011

I'm so happy to still be sparking. I'm better than I was yesterday, last week, last year. I'll be better still as the days go by. One day at a time until I reach my goal. Thanks Sparkpeople! emoticon

I can't believe I tracked my Saturday

Saturday, June 04, 2011

I know I'm making progress when I log in to spark on Saturday! This day is one of my busiest. I don't have a lot of time, but blogging, logging, spinning the wheel has become a daily priority! Reading motivational stories helps me stay on track. I can do this! (I can't believe I just "said" that!) Keep on sparking! emoticon

Four pounds down!!

Friday, June 03, 2011

OK, it's the end of week 2A! I have lost 4 pounds! Albeit four pounds I lost last year, but it's still four pounds.

It's painful to have to re-lose weight. But it's also a motivator. I can't put this weight back on. I have to reach my 15 week goal. Four pounds is a lot! It's almost a 5 lb bag of sugar! emoticon

I am reaching for saying that dreaded phrase "If I could do it, anyone can!"

Sparkers keep on the mark. Every little bit helps. Thanks for your support. emoticon

Way to go!! 4 pounds is 4 pounds and it's a start!! Keep up the hard work and keep going! As someone told me, think of it as 5 pounds at a time. Small goals lead to bigger goals!!

OK, let's have ribs!!

Wednesday, June 01, 2011

So sometimes I'm all over the board when it comes to meals. Some days I'm way under my calories, some days I'm way over. OK, that said, this next day brings a new opportunity to make good choices and to stay on track.

I read success stories and I wonder how people have managed to lose part of their body mass in such an effective way!! It's because of being motivated to do so. The inner desire to change oneself has to be there or no eating plan, exercise program or anything else will work for very long.

My inner self is changing, albeit slowly, for the better. Your success stories help that process along. Please continue to blog to motivate folks like me. At the end of my 15 week goal I'll be able to post that phrase I hate: "If I can do it, so can you". emoticon

There are two more days to weigh-in. I wonder what the scale will say or what inches have been lost. We'll see.
