SLOWLY, but surely?

Yep... that's me... slow to lose, quick to gain. Why is that?! I had one weekend of not being as careful as I could be and basically unraveled all of the hard work I've done over the past 3 weeks. Hmmmmm....

Of course, it is the first day after the weekend, so maybe it's water weight. We'll see... I still have the attitude that I will not progress if I give up, so I'm gonna "keep on keepin' on."

I did great on my exercise last week and pretty good with food. I need to check in with SP on the weekend and I'll be golden.

On to another week...

    Yes...hold yourself accountable to staying with us on the weekends...that may help. I am with you....weekends are tough!! can do this!! Have an awesome hard and keep on keeping on...(your words...and you will do it)!!

Where Am I?

I'm confused... how am I HERE... AGAIN??!!! It's my typical pattern (or so I've noticed)... do pretty well up until Thanksgiving, then I blow it!! I gained back all of the weight I lost from January to November! How the heck does that happen??!! I seem to lose and gain the same 10 lbs every year. This has got to stop!

Exercise 4 times per week
Measure/weigh weekly
Post on SP daily

I'll check back soon.

    It's so frustrating, isn't it?! I vowed not to gain this year, and I did pretty good right up until the day after Christmas when 4 extra pounds showed up. :( I gave myself the last few days of 2009 before I went into "attack mode" last week. Don't know how I managed to do it because I was not strict, but 3 of the 4 pounds have disappeared already.

You've got a good plan -- hopefully you'll be right back on track before you know it. Good luck! --Julie

The Muffin Top

Well, one week down in 2009. I've always tended to hold weight in my mid-section and let's just say that I sporting a pretty decent "muffin top." For those of you who don't know what that is, it's when your stomach and/or sides hang out over the top of your pants. The first time I heard of this phrase was in describing the young 20-somethings who have no business wearing low cut pants and midrif bearing shirts. But, I think it can also be used to describe those of us (me!) who are wearing a mid-rise pants that are a tad too snug. So, there you have it... If there were a "Muffin-tops Anonymous," I think I would be a member.

The good news is... after one week of exercise and healthy eating, I've lost two lbs and my muffin top is... well, less "muffiny"!! So, here is to NO MUFFIN TOP by March!!! I'm on my way...

(OK, so there was no muffin in the food emoticons... a cupcake will have to do!)

    Some of my jeans give me a muffin top too! And I refuse to buy bigger sizes when I can just wear looser shirts ;-) I plan to join you in the muffin free zone by March. In fact, my birthday is March 1, so that's what I'm aiming for!

It's 2009 -- hard to believe!! I'm back at work and exhausted! A 16 day break should be relaxing. Well, it was, but now I'm used to sleeping until 7! So, getting up at 5 am has been an adjustment... and not a welcome one, I might add. On the positive side... after I groggily stumble out of bed and somehow manage to start the exercise DVD and get going. Afterwards, I feel better. emoticon I know that once I get used to waking up earlier, I will adjust.

I am enjoying reading the motivational articles on SP. Plus there are some new faces in our groups, which is always fun!

Thanksgiving Weight Loss

Huh? How in the world did I do it?! I got on the scale this morning (I just couldn't BARE to do it the Monday after Thanksgiving weekend) and discovered that I lost 2 lbs! Wow! I tried to make "better choices," but still wasn't the best I could be. I guess my conscious decisions paid off. Now I need to keep up the momentum...
