I was gonna blog

I really was

I was gonna drink all my water

I was gonna eat all healthy stuff

I was gonna take the stairs

I was gonna exercise

I was gonna stretch

I was gonna be here everyday

I was gonna forgive my mistakes

I was gonna take each moment as it comes

I was gonna make better choices

What happened?

Why is it so much easier to have the good intentions than to actually do the intentions?

I need to put this day to rest.

I need to start tomorrow new.

    Go back to square one. Forgive yourself...repeatedly...until it comes naturally.

Then pick one thing and do it...until it comes naturally.

Add another, do it...repeatedly...until it comes naturally.

Even if you've done this before, to jump in with both feet running is awfully overwhelming. I oughta know, I felt the pressure that only I was placing on myself to be immediately where I was when I left. Not Freaking Possible.

Go back to square one, schweets. We are here no matter what square you land on.

Let me preface this by saying: I am quite Earth-bound and have no real sense of rhythm.

I went to a Zumba class.

I got through the entire hour long class.

And, I liked it.

I will be doing that again.

And I loved that the instructor said that if you smile you'll burn twice as many calories. emoticon

I smiled.

I sweat.

I felt goooooOooooood!

Try something new. You might like it too. emoticon

    My favorite is the Wobble. Do they do that in your zumba class? The song goes wobble, baby, wobble, baby and kind of just repeats that a LOT... but it is soooo fun!

    So funny. I just saw a zumba class yesterday for the first time. Lots of people all looked like a dance team. I mean they were all doing it. The instructors hips looked they were dislocated. emoticon

It looks like you can do it at whatever pace/intensity you want. I saw all ages and all sizes in the class.

    I am SO uncoordinated, but I have tried Zumba a little before with my students at a Pep Rally this spring.You make me want to try it again. Zumba and me. Maybe?

It's the little things

A smile.

My coffee.

Clean clothes.

Clean water bottle.

My day is set.

Little things are what I am looking for.

I ate well this am.

I know what the Quickfire challenge is and I am prepared to work my obliques at work.

I am ready.

Bring on the little things!

By the Rules

Normally, I am a "by the rules" kinda gal. I follow the rules and have an expectation that everyone else will too. Like, at work, if I am to have a room scheduled from 6am to 9am-danggit, do not try to come into it before 9am! But then the place I work is the YMCA. And the Y is a place that has taught me to be flexible. You have to be. People don't always show up for a shift or they find a sub who is incompetent. You have to go with it because: there. is. nothing. else. you. can. do.

Flexibility is a good thing. Relaxation is a good thing. Stress is bad. I can't do anything about what I ate yesterday. I can't do anything about the hard number that appeared on the scale. I can breathe. Learn. Make a new choice. Try a new approach.

Rules are made to be broken. Right? Maybe not all. Some (perhaps all) were made made for a good reason. But having flexibility is a must when living life. I'm glad I learned this lesson. Finally.

    My Momma always said I liked rules....I liked to break them! Some rules are good (like the 10 commandments) but I like to challenge authority to find out if the rule is necessary or just makes it easier for them.

Opposites attract! I'm glad your my friend. Maybe I'll pull the rebel out of you yet! emoticon
