Feeling sick about it...

Friday, December 12, 2008

I may have to put Woodie (my cat ) to sleep. His pneumonia is not getting better after being in an oxygen tent, getting a few nebulizer treatments, and being on IV antibiotics. Now the vet calls and says they have no record of him ever being tested for HIV or feline leukemia--which if he tests positive for either, we are/have been fighting a losing battle. I am just sick. I just don't know how I am going to break this news to my daughter. I love that cat. emoticon

What a sad thing for you and your family. We recently lost our scruffy cat, and we still come home expecting Kitty (I know, super-original name) to be waiting for us. The love and affection that animals give us is such a blessing. I hope that your memories and pictures of Woodie help comfort you and your daughter.

I'm very, very sorry! Poor guy! I think it's the hardest thing ever to say goodbye to your friend. Your daughter will be okay.

More drama from my cat

Thursday, December 11, 2008

So, Woodie now has pneumonia. This is looking to cost between 3 and 4 hundred dollars (I spent $166 last night, but had to take him back today because the antibiotic didn't kick-in as well as expected). He is now in an oxygen tent and receiving intravenous antibiotics. That poor cat! I was climbing the walls listening to him TRY to breathe. I am relieved that he is finally getting some care, but still feeling stress about the cost. Geez, when will this madness end?

On a positive note...My other cat is healthy. And, I did my cardio workout this morning so I am sitting pretty to have a good day for my health. As long as I can refrain from emotional eating, I should be good.

I was stopping by to say you're doing great on cutting sodium and read about poor Woodie. I hope he's back on his paws soon, poor little kitty. Working out should help with your stress. Good job!!!

Poor Woodie, he sure didn't sound good last week when I was over. Glad he's getting the medicine he needs. Good job working out this morning. Just say no to junk food. Yeah easier said than done. ARG. To bad we can't take a will power vitamin.

what I am doing to prevent holiday weight gain

Wednesday, December 10, 2008

Not just hoping it won't happen. I have made a commitment to do cardio exercise 6 days per week and to do strength exercises 3 days per week. I made a commitment to eating at least 5 fruit and veggie servings per day. I will reward my good behavior with something non-food related. (pedicure and or a massage)

goals for today

Love myself. Love others. Play. Exercise. Eat well. Have fun. Read a little. Knit a little. Focus on positives.

Exercise Rocks!

Saturday, December 06, 2008

I did it! I exercised yesterday! I felt GREAT! And I got a surprise call from a friend to see if I was available to give her a massage (I am a licensed massage therapist)--I jumped at the chance. Doing massage work also counts as exercise. (I also gave one on Wed night that was also last minute). Before I started SP, I had pretty much stopped giving massages in the evenings because I was too tired from working all day with the kids I watch, but now I feel GREAT. Now, I'm gonna go and get my cardio in for today.

That is awesome! It's so funny how one little step in the direction we want to go will sometimes give us great momentum. Wow, that is wonderful how multi-talented you are, too. Super-Kid person by day, Massage Therapist who can leap buildings with a single bound by night. I am very happy for you and proud of you!
