BLC break plans

Monday, December 03, 2012

My plans for the BLC break is as follows : This holiday season i will have Christmas and New Years at home and if i do visit my family i will be extra careful not to get caught up in the holidays and forget all i have learned on spark about eating healthy and exercising. I don,t want to put on any weight cause i didn,t lose much during the challenge a few missle pounds nothing you could really tell the difference about so when i come back i want to either be the same or have lost at least five pounds i don,t want to have to start from scratch so i know i must stay in control during my break and keep my butt moving cause once you start sitting down and being lazy those inches creep right back in those places that you have lost them and you won,t even realize that they are there until you go and put on your pants and they feel like their hugging you a little more than they was since you had them on last time. I have jotted down a few plans i will use on my break i know it won,t be easy but i,m worth it so i,ll try my best .........

1) To watch my intake and not go back to my old eating habits continue consuming fruits and veggies everyday the more the merrier and also drinking water when i don,t get enough it shows in my skin with bumps and other skin issues.

2) Make sure i go to the gym twice a week and exercise at home the other three days using my dvd,s slim in 6 and turbo jam and also continue doing ST i learned a lot of ST exercises from the challenge . I will have to increase my exercise so i can gain more muscle because muscle burns fat and helps speed up your metabolism.

3) I will read at least two success blogs a day on spark or the biggest loser cause this helps me to realize that i can do it if i want it bad enough.

4) I will read all the saved info in my favorites i collected a lot of items from spark that i will read while i,m on my break and also i will read my magazines i brought from the supermarket that has fat lost tips and eating plans, recipes and more i always seem to buy one when i go shopping they always catch my eye with some one losing weight with a big before and after Pic posted on the front page.

5) I will remain on spark and stop by my newly found spark friends page to encourage them or see how they are doing i won,t be here every day but i will not forget MY MOCHA,S you all are some special people that i am happy to have meet emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

    Hey Diva,

You can do that, but also remember, when you deprive yourself of anything you like, you tend to go overboard when you do have it.................its okay and cool to eat the things that you like in moderation.

As you learned on Sparkpeople, you can indulge just a little as well, what I find I do is I teaspoon taste the things I like, just so I can get the taste out of mouth and mind. For me there is no such thing as a "forbidden" or "taboo" food, I just do it in moderation and I portion control.

I hope you enjoy your BLC and hope that you enjoy some kind of food that you like over the holidays emoticon emoticon

Seasons Greeting from this Diva to another......."just keep it movin......keep it movin"

My plan to stay on track during the holiday

Monday, November 26, 2012

emoticon I had to take a minute to think about what i can do that will help me stay on track during the holiday and i came up with these plans hopefully i can put them to good use and maneuver around all those sweet and delicious treats that are just sitting around in the office just waiting for some caring soul to pick up and devour emoticon no seriously you know every one will be offering you cookies and candy and you don,t want to turn them down because that might hurt there,re feelings so i will take those heavy laden goodies and say thank you have a nice Christmas or New years but i will hold on to them and give them to my son joshua he can stand to eat those kind of treats with out having any consequences later he eats pretty well so i guess he has a fast metabolism.

Plan 2) Is to stock up on healthy treats and find some new recipes from the spark menu to add them in so that i can have a variety of ways to make other foods that are not high calories or high in fat.

Plan 3) Watch my intake and get on the tracker to make sure i stay with in my calorie range.

Plan 4) Get more exercise daily and add more ST in my regime so that i can build muscle cause muscles help your body break down food and distributes the needed nutrients thru out your body and less of what is left over will be stored as fat.

Plan 5) Drink my 6-8 oz of water a day this is important because water is vital for your body to help flush out any impurities that might be lingering around and doing harm to your system.

plan 6) stay connected with spark people and continue to read the success blogs at least once a day because knowing that other people been down this path before and have successfully reach their destinations gives me the strength to get on my sneakers and get in my living room and push play on my DVD player even on days when i don,t feel in the mode to do anything i think about the benefits i will reap if I don,t give up ............... I have made this commitment to get fit and even though i haven,t figure out all the red tape behind losing weight i have learned a lot of healthy tips that i know will help me see my way on over to a more healthier and fit body one that i can be proud of accommodating well these are a few plans that i will be using to stay focused during the holiday i will be reading other blogs to get some more ideas. emoticon emoticon

Stragize plan BLC 20 challenge

Saturday, November 03, 2012

Our assignment is to make a meal and exercise plan: We must stragize and come up with some new ideas and tips that we can use on our quest to get healthy and fit.

I sat down and wrote out a menu that i will be using for this weeks challenge and adding to my tracker each day i also have to make sure i stay within my calorie range. Here are some of the ideas i plan on using in this weeks challenge i,ll be checking other people,s pages for more tips and ideas

Nutrition: stragizing plans Eat healthy foods like emoticon emoticon
emoticon emoticon

1) preparing my meals a head of time and storing in the refrigerator with date and labels so i can use the extra time for other things. 2) Search spark menus for new healthy recipes. 3) Look at labels more closely to monitor my fat, sodium and carbs intake. 4) Eat a healthy breakfast so i don,t get hungry later and start finding other non-nutritionally foods to eat emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon yummy but costly for me. 5) prep clothes for the next day so i can have time in the morning for breakfast 6) Read other successful spark members nutrition tracker to see what they are eating so that i can make some changes. 7) Read at least 3 success stories a day (help me stay motivated) 8) learn new method of tracking intake (calories in versus calories out) 9) utilize all of spark peoples features 10) continue eating fruits and veggies and add a green smoothie to my food intake at least once a week 11) log and monitor water intake (aim for 8 glasses a day or more)

Exercise: strategizing plans Add more strength training emoticon emoticon emoticon

1) Be more consistent 2) set clock a half hour earlier to try and get in a 20 min workout tape 3) walk on treadmill for at least 1 hour a day using incline feature) 4) Search web to find new exercise ideas for strength training 5) Post sticky notes all over house as visual reminders 6) Read affirmations so that i will not lose hope in reaching my goals.

These are the plans i will use this week and if they work i will continue to use them on a daily basis emoticon emoticon emoticon

BLC Mid round slump

Monday, October 22, 2012

emoticon Hello to all my wonderful spark family this blog is about how i,m doing so far in the challenge. I have to look back on the day i started the BLC challenge and ask my self did i accomplish what i set out to do or did i fall short of my commitment. I,m almost at the finish line and i don,t feel to good right now emoticon i feel like i didn't do well because i wanted to lose 10 pounds and didn,t even get no where near that marker. I can,t say i didn,t try though i did change my eating habits and i did exercise much more then i use to but for some reason i didn't get the scale emoticon to move like i wanted it to,

my goals where to track my intake i wasn,t consistent with this i only wrote down what i was eating but what good was that if i didn,t know if i stayed with in my calorie range so this goal was not met. I planned on exercising more during this challenge emoticon but i should have added more weight training maybe then i would have burned more fat. emoticon emoticon emoticon
I planned on eating more fruits and veggies emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon i added fruits to my oatmeal like strawberries, bananas. i added green grapes, green peppers, red peppers, carrots, strawberries, blueberries to my salads on a regular basis.

my goal was to stay motivated and i don,t feel i did that good in this area but i didn,t stop i lost a bit of my motivation when i hurt my back that,s when i felt like throwing in the towels but i kept pushing until i could move again and now i,m back doing my Turbo jam DVD,s i,m so happy to be able to work out and sweat again because just going through the motions is a waste of time.

I,m not giving up i,m not giving in i,m going to endure to the end and beyond because when this challenge is over i must continue to eat healthy and exercise if i ever want to reach my goal weight and feel good about my self and not have to take BP meds and Heart Meds. I know if i push a bit harder i will get where i want to be one day These are my plans i will try hard to stick to during the remaining of the challenge.

1) I have to post not only write down my meals
2) i have to incorporate exercise with strength training to burn fat
3) I will make a big copy of my goals so i can read them each day and be consistent
4) I will read and follow other successful people that has lost weight already
5) I will use the tools that spark has to help me reach my goals
6) i will keep the faith in my self and not stop ever

I,m still happy even though i didn,t lose the weight as of yet because i meet some wonderful caring people that i will not forget as long as i,m on spark and i will one day get to join another challenge like this one and continue on my quest to a happy and healthier life and also i learn so much on this challenge that will help me reach my goals in the near future if i continue on my journey and don,t quit i will get there for sure ....... This blog was rushed sorry if it,s not put together well but i needed to get these points so i did my best ........MOCHA,S emoticon

BLC 20 Nutritional hurdle assignment

Monday, September 24, 2012

emoticon one of the BLC20 assignments was to read an article about what is your nutritional hurdle that could be keeping you from reaching your weight lost goals . I thought about this and came up with sodium because i love salty foods. I learned that alot of our foods contain salt especially the package pre made meals that only need to be warmed up i also learned that alot of our condiments like ketchup, mayonnaise and salad dressings contain salt i will be on the look out for salt by looking at the back of the containers to make sure i,m not adding extra salt to my intake on a daily basis. i read several peoples blogs and message post about retaining water and not being able to see the scale emoticon move down ward. I am dealing with this problem now i exercise and try to eat right but i still don,t see the numbers i am looking for so i decided to change my seasoning to a salt free product called

i use to use this product but never read the sodium content it contains 350 grams of sodium which is way to high for me because i have high BP already and i take meds to keep it under control i feel that this will benefit me in both aspects because if i limit my salt intake i will retain less water and this will help me to get the scale moving in the right direction. I will try this and see if it helps as far as losing weight but i must continue using this salt free product to keep my BP on point .

Here is the article name that i read about cutting sodium it,s called EASY WAYS TO CUT SODIUM INTAKE from spark resources_articles

How has the switch to the new seasoning working out for you? Well, I hope!

Yep, salt free seasonings are the best. I rarely add salt these days. Pepper usually does the trick but the flavor seasonings are even better! Good luck!

Also increase your water intake it helps flush the sodium out your system!
