Super busy but staying on track!

Haven't had a chance to blog or even get on Spark people lately, but have been sticking w/ the program!! emoticon emoticon After 30 days, I have lost 12lbs. & 9 1/2in. emoticon
I have had my ups & downs but am DETERMINED to keep going! emoticon I have had several small victories that have encouraged me so much!! emoticon
Looking forward to see what the next 30 days brings!! emoticon

Week 2= Trials but NOT defeat!!

Well this week was a bit more difficult. I was tempted more than once to stop & pick up take-out, but DIDN'T!!! I reminded myself each time that dinner was already planned for the day.
This is just another example of how planning meals for the week is working out so well!!!
Also, this was my 1st full week as a curves member & I love it!!
So....ready to start week 3!! emoticon emoticon emoticon

I like your weekly meal's plan for the whole week. I do the same and it works well.
Curves is fun. Enjoy it.

Pizza, please!

emoticon I have been craving pizza for a few days, so today I made my first homemade Spinach pizza and to be honest, next time I am craving pizza, I will just make a low-fat version of my usual (ham, pepperoni & banana peppers)!! My daughter is on this journey w/me, so we thought we'd try a healthy version of pizza, but unfortunately, it just didn't work for us!. The best part of the meal was the salad!! emoticon When I asked my husband what he thought, he says,"Well it's different!"...which means he didn't like it, but didn't want to hurt my feelings since I made it! My daughter said she "liked" it, which means she probably won't be eating anymore of it! The recipe called for lots of garlic, and I love me some garlic, but I think I'll still be tasting it next week!! emoticon
With all that being said, next time I want PIZZA, I will splurge a bit on my favorite homemade pizza!!
I think it's ok to give a little here & there, but don't make a habit of it!! emoticon

    I'm not usually much of a pizza person while my husband could easily have it twice or three times a week. That said, every once in awhile I get this overwhelming pizza craving. Used to be I'd call up Papa John's and order a Hawaiian...and some bread sticks...and a dessert.

Now I make my pizza at home. It's still a splurge, but I know what exactly is going into it and how much. I do add spinach to mine, but it's not the key ingredient.

And I had to laugh. My dad has been using, "It's different," for years to let my mom know that the recipe in question is awful! emoticon

    Good for you trying something new! I have tried a lot of interesting homemade pizzas, but I tend to go back to my favorite, too~turkey pepperoni, bell peppers and mushrooms. Like so many others, I can't make it very often because it is such a trigger food for me.

    You are certainly right, it is okay to give a little if we don't make a habit of it. I love pizza as well and so far have avoided it because I do have problems limiting myself to one or two slices. Not much of a fan of spinach on a pizza.

    I found when I first started it was hard to stay away from stuff I shouldn't have. Pizza is a big no-no I would like to say I can have it in small portions, but it never happens. It just tastes too good. It's best to stay away from it for a while.

    When I'm craving pizza, I make my own homemade Canadian Bacon & Pineapple pizza. It's got way fewer calories than what I would get from Pizza Hut....and It doesn't taste the same....but it satisfies the craving I'm having. I've found if I will make small adjustments & not completely give up the foods I crave completely...then I will stick with my healthier habits.

Eating healthy to reach my goals- Part 1

So part of my weight loss journey is teaching myself to eat healthy, which requires a lot more dedication for me!! I am constantly searching for tasty recipes that my whole family will eat! I did a meal plan this week for the first time, cooking @ least once daily and so far, it's going good. I have also found that by cooking healthy & eating the right portions, that I am full w/each meal. I look forward to the days & weeks ahead of trying many new things & changing my weight & my life!! emoticon

    I'm also a stay-at-home mom and meal planning is such a lifesaver! I can barely remember what day of the week it is sometimes; I certainly never remember everything I want at the store if it isn't written down. Also, my crockpot and I are very good friends. emoticon I am learning to prepare ahead and then freeze meals too. It's another great way to protect yourself from the unexpected. The drive-through is not as appealing or justifiable if there is something yummy and healthy just waiting to be warmed up!

    Planning this week has really helped!! It is a great idea and I just listed the ingredients I needed on my shopping list & stuck w/ it. I used the crock pot three times this week when I knew I wouldn't have time to cook & it's been a lifesaver!!
It takes extra time & effort, but is doable!!

  it has been a long time since i wrote down what i was going to make for the week . I used to go to town with the list . hubby thought i was nuts but it worked . have to get back to that . that way i know what i am making and what it takes to make . not gee this looks good and buy it and then forget i bought this or that . I am trying to get healthy along with the weigh loss . just weight loss is not enough . I applaud you in your journey . emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

Week 1=Success!!

This is my first week on my journey to slim down & change my way of eating and I'm proud to say I've stayed on track and already feel better!! My weight has always been a struggle for me. I have lost the same 50lbs. so many times through fad diets. But unfortunately, as soon as you stop the diet, the weight comes back with a vengeance!! This time, with healthy eating & exercise, I plan to meet my goal & maintain it!! So happy I found this site! So many motivational stories!! Well, off to begin week 2!! Have a blessed week! emoticon
