It is nearing the end of my first week, and I have kept my spark..yee haw!!!
I have gone over my caloric intake a few days this week, but I am proud that I put in everything that ate, and that I am not cheating myself. My husband has congratulated me and is proud of how much I have cut back on my food intake of junk and how much healthier I am eating.
So usually by this time in the week i would have probably had 8 tim hortons double doubles and I probably would have ate fast food twice and not had a healthy lunch and definetely would not of had any fruit, well maybe a banana. This week I started each day with a healthy breakfast, carbs from healthy cereals, yogurt and a cup of tea along with my vitamins. For lunch I have had either a healthy pita/wrap or sandwich with protein (natural organic ham), red leaf lettuce from our garden, tomato, little bit of cheese, cucumber and a drizzle of ranch dressing. i followed up my lunch with a piece of fruit, wither a clementine, apple, or banana. For morning snacks it was always a vegetable with a serving of crackers. for instance grape tomato's and gold fish crackers, sweet bell peppers with vegetable crackers, or broccoli and cauliflower with ritz crackers and a little bit of dip. For afternoon snack I made banana muffins , very healthy and only 70 calories each, along with the muffin I have some dried fruit either prunes, apricots, raisins or cranberries. Finally dinners have all been prepared at home, no processed foods, we have had ground turkey tacos with chef megs taco seasoning and lovely lettuce from our garden. chicken bites with sweet potato fries and creamed corn, homemade hamburgers with cucumber salad and tuna casserole with salad. ( I have also stopped with all the non fat, light stuff and eat just whole foods)
The most shocking and noticeable difference is in our beautiful girls, they have gone from acting up, being rude and being a handful to really good mannered, well behaved little ladies and I am fully convinced it is from dietary change as they are eating the exact same thing as I have this past week. My husband who is already fit has been on the same eating plan, as I make his lunches like ours and give him the same snacks as well, says he has a lot more energy and is not constipated anymore. Yeah!!! for myself I fell like I have more energy as well and I am not looking for an afternoon nap like I had before.
I am proud that i have kept with my exercising all week. I am doing the 28 day bootcamp dvd with coach Nicole, I do it every day, even if i have had to wait to do it in the evening from a hectic day, i do it! Also I signed myself up for a hula hooping workshop, and it happened to be on a rest or cross training day on the dvd. WOW!!! the workout I received was amazing, i even bought my own hoop, and will add that to my fitness routine as my cross training. I feel good, and I am not into the cheats or quick fixes, i have learned they do not work and are a waste of money, I look forward to writing my next blog at the end of week 2.
