First 5k in 7 years *pics*

Sunday, December 05, 2010

On Saturday December 4, 2010 I ran the HALO Jingle Bell run with my Y buddies.

It was freezing for FL

My friends and I walked nearly 2 miles to the starting line to warm up and I am glad we did that. It took all that time to even feel my legs lol

Debbie and I took off together and stayed by each others side for the first mile, I wanted to walk but she pulled my by the arm of my shirt and I kept going (a little). Finally I stopped running and walked just until I could catch my breath. The cold air was hard to breath in. Then I ran...walked...ran...walked...ran to the finish line. I only walked about 2 mins total but I felt disappointed I didn't run the whole thing.

Here I was just seconds before the finish line. My time was 37:41.

I am proud I did it and happy it's over LOL Now to work on my endurance. emoticon

Wow you killed it! My first 5K ever was in Oct this year and my time was 42:12 - and I was happy with that! haha But it was also extremely cold compared to the weather I had been practicing in and before then I had been only walking and not jogging and chose to jog the entire 5K.

I've been thinking maybe its better to stop here and there and catch my breath. Not sure - but I will try to be faster this time, my next one is at the same place this Saturday!! :)

I am thankful for...

Thursday, November 25, 2010

LIFE, HEALTH and the ABILITY to change my body and my mind.

Thank you God for each of the blessings you provide.

I am so grateful for medical technology that saved my son's life and for the miracle of life it's self. My boys are the light of my life. I have the best husband and I wouldn't change anything!

I have amazing friends and a support system I couldn't have dreamed of.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Not my most "traditional" Turkey Day

Tuesday, November 23, 2010

My family (hubby and two boys) and I have come to like staying home and laying low for Thanksgiving. We do not have any local family so it's pretty easy.

This year we are doing a very nontraditional meal.
Roasted Whole Chicken
Stuffing (for DH)
Mashed potatoes (for the 3 boys)
Sweet potato for me
Peas & carrots
Crescent Rolls (for the boys too)
I have a Gluten Free Pumpkin bread I bought for me.

We'll probably have cookies for dessert (GF for me)

The emoticon is safe at our house this year LOL

not sure what happened but after Friday's last Cinch an Inch work out I have been so unmotivated :( I cannot lose my motivation NOW...I have just begun to see results and feel good. I still have 30 pounds to lose.

Starting today I am going to be working on my running, I have a 5k on Dec 4th and I just want to be able to run the whole thing, no matter how long it takes me.

Always Remember: Philippians 4:13 - "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." AMEN

When I feel like I am struggling in any aspect of my life, I just say out loud the only Bible verse I know by heart. AND I think it fits for just about anything life has to throw at me. So, if I am only going to know one by heart, I am Thankful it is this one!

Hang in there! emoticon
