Working out and pushing through

I'm having a heck of a time with my left lower leg. I can't figure out what's wrong. It's not a sprained ankle. It feels like shin splints but it's on the side of the leg not the front where the actual shin is. Anyway, I continue to work through the pain as it comes and goes. It's a daily, unwelcome surprise. Will I feel it today? Will it feel better? It's different each day. I'm hoping as I lose more weight it will disappear. I know it's not just working out because it started before I started my routine. The mystery continues...

    Might have been something that was there before but it prob is being exacerbated by the workouts. R u doing anything but eliptical? It would help to switch things up a bit I am sure....what else r u interested in?

A: Trying on an old pair of jeans and realizing they fit!

It's like a have a whole new (old) wardrobe with 5 new pairs of jeans/pants and a few more shirts. I've noticed that most of the weight I'm losing is in my legs so I need to start focusing on more than just cardio geared toward my legs.

    Awesome Job!

I've never really had that feeling. The one time in my life that I lost significant weight I wasn't really trying to lose so therefore never did the "try on old clothes" thing. Plus, not a big fan of saving old clothes. I really believe it can damage you psychologically. I'll hold onto a few but I have friends that refuse to buy new clothes and have a WHOLE CLOSET of clothes at least 5 sizes smaller than they are. I think of what I used to be often enough, I don't need reminders LOL....

    Ooh, I LOVE trying on old clothes! I've been hauling around umpteen shirts and pairs of pants for years now, every time I move, just because I'm sure that SOMEDAY I'll fit back into them. And it's so exciting whenever I pull out one of those clothing items and find that it fits (or is close to fitting).

For me, it's a tie between trying on old clothes, and going to the doctor. I kind of love getting weighed there every time now, because my doctor will always get so excited that I've lost more weight. I can't handle talking about my weight loss with friends or family (major embarrassment issues there), so my doctor is the one person I can celebrate with, and I love it!

Training for a 5K

I've always wanted to add 5K to my things to do before I... List but I've always been too scared because I never thought I could actually do it. I'm really psyched to try and accomplish this. I am not a big fan of running but I really think that if I try and train for the next two months I can do it! It's only about 3.11 miles. I won't be looking to win the race or run as fast as I can, just to complete it. How exciting to have something to look forward to! emoticon

Not bad, I'm a quarter of the way there. As I lay in bed the other night I thought out loud to my husband how I've actually lost more pounds that what our 2 year old daughter weighs. I've lost a whole 2 year old!! That's simply amazing to me. I'd love to lose another 15-20 before returning to school. I'm working out everyday, at least 1.5 hours a day on the elliptical. I just bought my favorite workout DVD in the whole world: Cindy Crawford workout with Radu. It's totally from the 1990s but I've had the VHS version forever and it just wouldn't play anymore the other day. I decided to upgrade to the DVD version. It's a tough workout, it kicks your butt and makes you sore all over the next day. I highly recommend it.

When I tried on a pair of old shorts the other day I couldn't believe how big they were on my legs, it was unbelievable. I just wish that weight would be falling off my hips and stomach more so than my legs. I guess I'll just have a big stomach and tiny stick legs. emoticon

Being on a diet, exercising everyday, and getting less sleep is a recipe for a monsoon aimed right at my husband. Luckily, he is very supportive and loving, otherwise I'd be out of luck. I can be very stubborn, but in the end it all turns out good because of him. emoticon
