It was 70 today, but the sun was so nice and strong, even though it was a cool wind, I went out there dressed for the coolness and got into my lounge chair and just soaked up the rays. Oh it felt good. After a bit a chipmunk yelled at me too much so I gave it up, but I had thoroughly enjoyed the time I had out there. :)
I did pick maybe a gallon of kiwi and some wild grapes prior to that. The kiwi is in jars in the fridge. I hope to make some jelly with the grapes tomorrow.

I got these pickled veggies yesterday, and remembered Dr. Oz saying pickled (vinegar anyway) veggies help you with losing weight. I ate some and it felt like I'd had too much salt. Sure enough, the sodium is high enough for one serving, and I had two. Should have paid more attention. Ugh! So I'm going to try to add in lemon juice and onion for my last meal of the day, since they are natural dieretics, and hope that this doesn't affect my weigh in. Ah well!

Yay, I finally got to go kayaking again this year! It was a pretty day for it.
This is above, but looking toward the area you put in.
You have to go around this tree almost immediately after putting the kayaks into the water.
Then head on from there.
It was about 75 minutes all in all, for kayaking today. Hubby had the camera. He didn't take a lot of pics. Here's one of me near where we kayaked to. I was just relaxing, taking in the peacefulness of it all.

Actually, he did a pan of the area.
Then we decided to get kayaking back. I thought I had seen him put the camera away but he took a picture of me kayaking.
Then after we brought the kayaks to our vehicle and I waited until he needed my help to put them on it, I took some pictures. Here is one of some fall color- though I don't know what kind of tree they're on (I just wanted the section that was colorful, lol).
Here is a picture of some weeds that were next to me on the bank, but the picture takes in some of the creek as well.
I leaned over and took a picture of plants in the water too.
Oh yes, and we saw a lot of these tall yellow flowers. I don't know what they are.

It's been a pretty good weekend. Today I tried a variety of gluten free foods, since finding I very likely have a problem with gluten. I made some pizza crust for myself last night, because the rest of the fam, for our get together, wanted pizza for lunch before a movie today. I cooked up some lean pork that was rather salty and sliced it well for a pizza topping for myself- it worked well. Then I took some non-dairy non-gluten "shredded cheese", I found at the health food store just in time, and put it on top of some pizza sauce too. It was pretty good. :)
Speaking of gluten free, I discovered cous cous- made from semolina...of course....says so on the ingredients list....in the gluten free section of the grocery store! Goodness. You have to look carefully even there!
Tonight I made some granola, but it got a bit overdone and isn't all that thrilling, lol. Ah well- it was filling!
This weekend I did get some things sealed so they'll last longer- romaine lettuce, baby kale, spinach and power greens (I think it was called), grapes, and the rest of the granola (that which did not land outside the jars anyway).
I have my menu all ready for tomorrow, so I think it was a pretty productive time. :)
Ah yes, and since summer ended at 4:44, I shall bid you a lovely autumn.

Pretty nice to have lost five pounds on the turbo cycling this week. That's my first full week of carb cycling, and I started eating better at the beginning of September. I am astounded how Chris Powell has the mechanics worked out so you can eat just about all you want (up to a thousand calories more than the other days) one day a week on the turbo carb cycling plan (there are other plans, but reward meals are a part of each) and don't exercise on the weekends, but normally lose about five pounds a week. So cool.
I want to get more variety to eat this coming week for the turbo plan. Not just chicken and shakes. He has other lean low sodium meats listed that you can eat, I just have to go get some. I want more variety of veggies too. I was thinking fennel might be nice in a shake! Well, here's to finding out!
