Saturday was a full day with family. We had one birthday at the end of March, one a week later and two (twins) in April, and to celebrate all at once was the idea- plus the best way the family could all get together for Easter was to do it the day before Easter. So it was a full house and a good day.
I am allowed to have 3 "cheat meals" a week, if I want to, on my eating plan, so I wasn't too worried about having a little bit of cake, so I tried all three kinds (yeah, can you believe it?!) I took a forkful of one, and a very small piece of the other two.
Looks like I stayed in my calorie range for the day, so that's good. :)
Oh yeah, one of the birthdays was mine, and I got a mini trampoline (I've liked the idea one of my spark friends has of running on hers, and I see there are lots of exercises on youtube and so on to follow too) for those, a burning bush (I've wanted one of those plants for some time), and a gift card to Amazon. Yay :) It's nice when people go in on something together to get what you want (they do ask for lists of ideas!). Oh yes, hubby and I got a joint gift of a foot bath that is supposed to massage your feet. I didn't want to tell her we already had one. But hey, now we could both soak our feet at the same time, right? hahaha
One family had a couple hours trip, but the other much longer. Sounds like they were planning to go part way home and then stop at a hotel so it wouldn't be such a long drive back in the morning.
It was nice to see and be with everyone. :)

Yay, I'm so happy to have gotten rid of five pounds this first week back on track with food and exercise! I can see and feel the difference.
Two inches off my waist. An inch off my hips. Half an inch off my thigh.
I've been sticking to my eating plan and doing a variety of exercises daily (trying to do a different dvd each day -been using some to try from Netflix too).
Above all that, I just love the way I FEEL. I have so much more energy and alertness that I didn't have before (though I notice that seems to be especially when I follow a certain little book for healthy smoothies).
I'm off to walk the dogs!

Well, my sister didn't get there 'til this evening, last I heard from her (that was when she was expected to arrive), and my friend, that was to come over this evening, never called so I hope she's okay. I did go out with a friend for a belated birthday meal today and enjoyed that. I had Chicken Fresco and a side of broccoli and a side of spaghetti squash, with lemon water to drink. I did well on my food choices. My friend and I had a really good visit.
I walked the dogs and also did Walk Away the Pounds (one of the stretch band interval dvds), and used some weights for my exercises today.
Some of the daffodils are standing tall again- the snow couldn't keep them down. The sun has melted most of the snow today.

Yesterday, when I walked the dogs, I saw a kingfisher- and boy did he protest us being at "his" pond! That evening my husband and I went for a two mile walk along the road, and when we came back we had one daffodil open for the first time this year. Today we had several. :) So cheerful.
You can see our basset hound's tail and lead in the picture too...haha.
Hubby and I planted some blue spruce today, from the Arbor Day Foundation.
I'm enjoying trying the Paleo way of eating, that I saw in my FIRST magazine for this month. I feel more energetic and alert, and only feel the need to eat 3 meals and maybe a snack. I think this is working well for my blood sugar too (I'm not diabetic, but know what it feels like to have my blood sugar out of whack). It's good to be exercising regularly too.
