My experience with the Spark Activity Tracker so far

Tuesday, January 07, 2014

I started wearing the Spark Activity Tracker night before last. That night and the next day I'm thinking...hm, it just seems to track how many steps I take- it's just a pedometer after all that? But today I was able to do some low impact aerobics (My back was bad before that, and I went to the chiropractor yesterday), and when I went to input my exercise on the website, the spark activity tracker said that it had tracked a certain amount of minutes of some kind of activity, and was asking if I would please let them know what kind it was- so I clicked on the area, and it let me choose, and of course, it input the calories. Nice. Only thing was, it didn't record the cool down time. I'm used to having the cool down time be a part of my total exercise time. Since I had also done stretch bands in the workout I decided to mark that down too- only added 18 calories, but oh well.
Just sharing my experience with Spark People's newest gadget- it's not a pedometer. :)

Exercised this morning

Wednesday, December 25, 2013

We walked the dogs before sunrise, and I did some more Christmas prep and then did some walk away the pounds with stretch bands before my shower.
I didn't FEEL like exercising, but felt good about having done so afterward.
My son isn't home for Christmas -first time ever- and his package from us didn't get there before Christmas- sure hope it will tomorrow (I have a friend who hasn't gotten TWO packages and the post office can't find them)... but I hope he has a good day somehow. He's having a rough time of it. Needs a job. Doesn't even get unemployment because he's been a freelancer for so long.
Anyhoo, gonna get ready to enjoy other family members.
For those who celebrate- I hope you have a Merry Christmas.

Hi Michelle, always love my early morning walks, exercise does make me feel better too, great sunrise too.
Sorry your son did not come this year, kinda puts a damper on things and the package did not arrive either bummer. We also had packages we did not get.
Hope you had a good Christmas. emoticon

    You did swell exercising!

As to your son: As a mom you of course are concerned. But realize how often you went through tough times and became stronger. Have faith in how you raised him and in him. Times might get even tougher.

The changes since losing half the goal weight

Sunday, December 15, 2013

Since losing half my weight, I'm of course wearing smaller clothes, and feeling better about how I look in clothes. Just the other day my husband looked at me while I was finishing getting ready for work (curling hair), and said, "Wow, you really HAVE gotten thinner!" THAT felt good. :) It does feel pretty good to look at my whole profile in a mirror now. Exercise has helped with that too- not just the food plan.
When I take a shower I don't have those pads of fat any longer under my armpit areas. Yuck, those were awful.
I'm noticing that when I lie on my back in bed at night that my body slopes downward from the ribs, rather than lying flat or above them. NICE!
I sure like having thinner thighs and a higher butt, lol. I'm liking how I look in stretch jeans.
My body looks taller and stronger and I like how that makes me look and feel, giving me more confidence, and I feel more sociable now as well.
Lots of bonuses for having lost this much weight thus far. Looking forward to losing the other half of the goal. :)

Feeling good about the changes in your body is exhilarating Buy at least a few pieces of clothing at each stage so others can see how good you look. Congratulations and positive thoughts for the second half

Past my halfway mark goal for weight loss!

Saturday, December 14, 2013

This last week, adding in almond milk really helped with the protein shakes I take to work with me. They tasted so much better. Getting my at least two cups of veggies per meal (like I'm supposed to) did too, though I admit I didn't do that always for breakfast.
But Classic carb-cycling week one after a slingshot week- went well- 2.6 lbs down! Just under my halfway point for weight loss. Woohoo!

Nope, not getting another kitty

Friday, December 13, 2013

I could tell the gal was in love with the kitty and vice versa so I suggested she ask her landlord if she might let her keep the kitty. The landlord said yes.
The kitty looks to be well enamored of their place already and our weather is atrocious for travel so it all works out for the best.

I want a kitty! Sweetie says no cats, no dogs, no birds. I have to be happy with a hamster and a lizard. You can't snuggle up with them on the couch, but they're still "family" I guess.
