I wear it regularly, and it's kind of neat to see how many steps I've taken, but it is awfully annoying that you can't write down what exercise you did when you do a work out. It will record that amount of time for you, saying how many calories you burned, when it doesn't even know what you did. So if you don't mind having it do that (for instance, it may say I burned 94 calories when I did high intensity aerobics for 32 minutes), then no big deal. I'm trying not to let it matter to me. But I am bugged.

So my husband and I went to walk the dogs yesterday, and we are walking through the six inches of new snow when I suddenly encounter pure ice under that snow. Both feet went out from under me and down I went on my back. I remember hitting at the part that is just under your neck, second, where your spine kinda "sticks out" in that area, and then my head, but my head is fine. I've been sore in spots. Definitely out of alignment in spots. I have had things moving here and there and I think I'm out of any pain now, so that's good, just some sore areas yet. I did help walk the dogs today, and the spark activity tracker knew it was a 22 minute walk I took with the dogs- I just bet I burned more than the 70 calories they put down for me, what with all the deeper textured snow I went through, but anyhoo, I used some things on my hiking boots that gave me traction this time. I think that my back appreciated the exercise, so that's good. I'm not going to push it any further today. Hopefully I'll be able to exercise more tomorrow.

I started wearing the Spark Activity Tracker night before last. That night and the next day I'm thinking...hm, it just seems to track how many steps I take- it's just a pedometer after all that? But today I was able to do some low impact aerobics (My back was bad before that, and I went to the chiropractor yesterday), and when I went to input my exercise on the website, the spark activity tracker said that it had tracked a certain amount of minutes of some kind of activity, and was asking if I would please let them know what kind it was- so I clicked on the area, and it let me choose, and of course, it input the calories. Nice. Only thing was, it didn't record the cool down time. I'm used to having the cool down time be a part of my total exercise time. Since I had also done stretch bands in the workout I decided to mark that down too- only added 18 calories, but oh well.
Just sharing my experience with Spark People's newest gadget- it's not a pedometer. :)

We walked the dogs before sunrise, and I did some more Christmas prep and then did some walk away the pounds with stretch bands before my shower.
I didn't FEEL like exercising, but felt good about having done so afterward.
My son isn't home for Christmas -first time ever- and his package from us didn't get there before Christmas- sure hope it will tomorrow (I have a friend who hasn't gotten TWO packages and the post office can't find them)... but I hope he has a good day somehow. He's having a rough time of it. Needs a job. Doesn't even get unemployment because he's been a freelancer for so long.
Anyhoo, gonna get ready to enjoy other family members.
For those who celebrate- I hope you have a Merry Christmas.

Since losing half my weight, I'm of course wearing smaller clothes, and feeling better about how I look in clothes. Just the other day my husband looked at me while I was finishing getting ready for work (curling hair), and said, "Wow, you really HAVE gotten thinner!" THAT felt good. :) It does feel pretty good to look at my whole profile in a mirror now. Exercise has helped with that too- not just the food plan.
When I take a shower I don't have those pads of fat any longer under my armpit areas. Yuck, those were awful.
I'm noticing that when I lie on my back in bed at night that my body slopes downward from the ribs, rather than lying flat or above them. NICE!
I sure like having thinner thighs and a higher butt, lol. I'm liking how I look in stretch jeans.
My body looks taller and stronger and I like how that makes me look and feel, giving me more confidence, and I feel more sociable now as well.
Lots of bonuses for having lost this much weight thus far. Looking forward to losing the other half of the goal. :)
