Spending Some Time

You know what? I decided that if I can go on Facebook and spend so much time on there playing some dumb games and stuff, then surely I can spend some time on SP doing something that will benefit me. I need to read some of the articles and success stories. These things will make a difference in my life! I need to invest in me!!!

    trust me...after a while you get more hooked on here than FB. well, at least I do. I read my team blogs, track my nutrition and get myself motivated to be pumped for the day.

I am back on track and I'm so excited!! I know I am going to do this. Thank you guys for the encouragement that you give :) One thing I have realized over all this time of trying to shed these pounds is that I need to log what I eat and I need accountability! I have tried not writting down what I eat and it has not worked well for me. I tend to "forget" some things. I have cut out the nibbling here and there and have scheduled, purposefully, times for snacks. This has helped so much. I fully intend to stay on track, change my lifestyle and change me. I'm in it for the long haul.

  Good for you! I have also learned the hard way that NOT writing my foods down doesn't work very is amazing what that little tracker can do to you mentally as well as physically :)

A Fresh Start

Thanks to my sweet sister who wants to help me be successful on this journey, I am making a fresh start. I have a renewed drive to get fit and healthy. When I have used SP in the past , it has helped in so many ways. The fact that I don't have to write down anything (typing it in is so much easier), the encouragement I get from others and being able to see everything in one glance is so helpful. I want to be a different me by Christmas. Thanks for helping me to do that, Spark People!!!

Arrrgggghhh!! Now that I have that off my chest...I went to the Dr. for my annual physical checkup a few weeks ago and again my weight was the topic for the day. I must get it through my head that if I don't do something now, I am headed for problems. I do not have diabetes, my cholesterol is great, my heart is in good shape. The only thing is that my blood pressure is a little high. I (with my family) am determined to, once and for all, get my weight down and get fit. We are all in this together and are encouraging each other. It is so inspiring to have my daughter come and say "Mom, I'm gonna go work-out". She's homeschooled so she uses that time as her PE requirement. When we achieve personal goals we cheer each other on. Our eating style is changing. We are trying different things and I am looking for ways to slim down my soul food style of cooking. Thinking ahead to Thanksgiving and Christmas, wondering how I can make is great all around without feeling guilty after our meals. We are all watching our portions and are doing very well with that. So, here we go....again!


Getting Ready for Summer

I really want this to be a different summer for me. I have been overweight too long and it's time for a change. Excercise is a must for me now. I even look forward to it and miss it if for some reason I am unable to get to it on any given day. We finally got cable (ok welcome me to the 21st century) and I am enjoying FitTV. Learning to Shimmy!!! I vary my workouts so I won't get bored and to use different muscles. Every day I am walking a mile or so on the treadmill. I can't wait until the weather gets better and my DD and I can walk outside. We both are looking forward being slimmer for our birthdays this summer which are only two days apart. Spark People is such a help and encouragement. When I decided to buckle down and get this done, SP was the first place I came to. I'm so glad you are here!!!

    sounds like you are on the right track girl! I'm also trying to get in shape for summer! I want to get down to a healthy weight and challenge myself to do things I have not done before! you can do it girl! just stick with it! ~Alexis~
