Finding ways to get in more exercise

Thursday, October 27, 2011

Seems like I'm busy right now and yet am able to get in different exercises and exercise time is building up.

When the weather is nice I take a 30 minute walk at lunch. After work taking mom to Curves 2-3 times a week and late Tuesday night go to line dancing class with co-worker. Amazing how you can fit in extra things here and there and it adds up.

Interesting how things I've read here on SparkPeople are slowly sinking in. I'm eating better quality foods. Preparing lunch items earlier so I can just pack and go. Occasionally eat out and still see the scale moving downward. It's taken long enough...but never giving up....and moving forward helps!

Seeing Progress

Wednesday, October 26, 2011

Seeing progress steadily and slowly. Trying to put in exercise wherever I can. Love walking at lunch time. Hear thunder so may not get to do that. Finding that walking/exercising is releasing stress and built up tension.

Son and daughter in law stayed until I got off and we went to dinner. Mom was difficult at first...she can't eat anything...but hubby was patient with her and got her eating. Thinks with her new teeth she can't eat anything. After working I have little patience with her but hubby pulled her out of it. She couldn't eat chicken but ended up eating 1/2 of his little piece by piece. She looked a little worn out last night. It was anniversary of dad's passing. Not sure if she knew it or not. She didn't mention it and she usually does if she remembers it. We don't bring it up to remind her. So not sure if she did or not. It's been three years and she seems to be doing well for the most part.

Work been going ok. Co-worker on maternity leave comes back before Thanksgiving. Time will tell if she'll be back or not.

it's nice to have a partner who can swoop in & help when you're tired & ur patience may be thin tho - right? (re your husband helping to coax your mom to eat) that's good stuff...

Had a wonderful 3 day weekend

Tuesday, October 25, 2011

We had beautiful weather and what fun. There were 27 cars who traveled together up and down and around through the countryside to Bowling Green Kentucky. It was a little foggy going down but the rest of the time it was 70's and sunny. Gorgeous countryside. It wasn't peak leaf it looks like it had already peaked ...but there were plenty of beautiful trees left. The getting away was good and relaxing. Will try to upload some pictures later. Went to National Corvette Museum and yesterday we toured the Corvette manufacturing plant. It was a good get away.

Now back to work....and getting back to my routine and my nice bed.

Son and daughter in law flying back today and will be here for awhile before they head home tonight. Hubby picking them up from the airport.

Off to make it a great day!

Wow...a 27 car caravan sounds awesome. I imagine the scenery was great but the fun of being with friends like that is priceless. Glad you had a great time. Have a sparking good day, Karen emoticon

Looking forward to our trip!

Friday, October 21, 2011

Got a meeting first thing this AM. Am at the office alone for awhile this AM. Co-worker taking hubby for some dental surgery. When she gets back will be doing some running and picking up supplies for work. Always like getting out of the office. Hopefully it isn't rainy out like it's been the last two days.

Have to focus on packing for our trip tomorrow. We are meeting up at 8 am but about a 45 minute drive from here. Heading for a long weekend trip to wander around Kentucky and tour around. Think there are about 45 cars going. Should be fun. Hoping to see some fall color and have a relaxing time away. Touring Corvette Museum and Monday touring Corvette Plant where they make them. Hubby is so excited. He's talked about what to pack all week and I've had so much going on I can't focus on it except to keep the laundry up.

I'm a scale addict and am seeing the scale go down some. Hopefully I stay on track for weigh in tomorrow. Love seeing the scal go down. Haven't seen that weight for a long time. Am also feeling thinner. Not so bloated. Nothing feels as good as thin feels. Have seen that on other's blogs...and it's true. Pumps me up as I see success. Finding I can even eat treats and still loose weight. My portions have gone down and focued on eating more fruits and veggies and I am still full....I am not starving. Learning to have pre-cut up veggies in snack bags and that makes it easier to pack quickly for lunches. I am learning a lot about myself. Finally seeing the scale move in the loss direction really pumps me up. It is slow...but it came on slowly and it will come off slowly. We'll see how I do over the upcoming holiday season....we take one step at a time....
