Seize the Opportunity

Monday, October 03, 2011

Did a little reflective thinking over the weekend! I grumble too much about my work. I have an opportunity to make it a better place and I grumble at work and at home , Right now jobs are hard to come by. I'm not making minimum wage,,,it's not a bad environment. I work in a controlled climate..I don't have to fight the rain or coming cold weather and work in it all day long. I want to stop complaining and be thankful for what I have.

This is where God wants me right now for this season...so I am to be my best and do my best and have a right attitude. My attitude affects those who work around me. Self talk may make it worse.

Talking about taking Mom on trip to Florida for Christmas and spending it with daughter.

Days seem so busy and weeks go by so quickly and weekend's fly by. Seems like I don't get to do things I'd like to do. By the time I get everything else done I collapse and am tired.

Off to make it a great week working on my attitude!

What a great perspective! There are so many without work, or who fight the elements at work...or just plain make the bare minimum...I too am going to head into work with a new perspective...I am blessed with a rather cushy job...I need to remember that...Have a great Monday!

Took a Chance

Friday, September 30, 2011

Read a motivational message sent to my e-mail each day and it asked yesterday how long it's been since you took a chance. I often eat lunch in a park. They have a walking path but it was too hot and didn't want to go back to work hot and sweaty..wasn't sure how long it was etc. Decided yesterday since I forgot my lunch at home...to take a chance. Took the path...and boy had I been missing it. In the middle of a housing developement lies this hidden jewel...the path walks around a pond. There a mallard duck was swimming and nature was all around me and it was quiet and beautiful. No houses to be seen! Nature calms me and refocuses me. The beauty blows me away. Here I have been missing this all summer. It gave me about a 20 minute walk. I thoroughly enjoyed it, What I've been missing out...I took the Chance and what a blessing I got.

Thankful Thursday

Thursday, September 29, 2011

Had a great lunch with former co-workers. It was fun/sad/nice. I miss the gang. We were really a team and worked well together. We also became friends and that was nice. Really miss that environment...yet life goes forward and we can't live in the past.

Co-worker and I were going to go visit co-worker with a new baby and she wanted to get out of the hosue and she came and visited us. Such a precious little girl. She is very blessed. Wonder how she will be when she comes back to work? Won't go there yet...we keep moving forward.

Busy at work and didn't get my snacks in and was way under on eating. Maybe didn't count something correctly???

Starting to feel thinner even if scales don't always show it. Nothing feels as good as "thin feels" Starting to feel that.

Reflection

Wednesday, September 28, 2011

Notice I'm struggling this time to stay in calorie range. Adjusted my weight goals for the Fall Challenge...didn't know to do it before. The tracker had me staying under 1900 with tracker and that seemed easy to do. Now at 1500 seems harder to stay below. Will have to work on that. Each step presents new challenges to overcome and deal with. It is a journey.

Work is OK. Going to visit co-worker who is on maternity leave to see her baby if tonight still works for her. Trying to take the high road with her hoping she'll come back pleasant. Wishful thinking? Outside of work she seems nice to be with. At work she is moody temperamental and out to get you.

The days seem to be flying by and I seem to get little done except work and morning exercising and Mom. Have to find some time for working in the yard. I enjoy that...never seems to be enough time.

Meeting two former co-workers for lunch. Looking forward to it but reminds me of our former job/team and I dearly miss it. Was a good place to work. We've all moved on to othere things and are learning to soar with the eagles...but it's been a struggle for me.

Off to make it a great day!

Hubby's Birthday

Tuesday, September 27, 2011

Today is Hubby's Birthday!

Got daughter to airport and she arrived safely home! Had a wonderful visit with her. She is nice to be around. We are becoming great friends and enjoy doing things together. it seems like we got alot of time together in a short weekend.

Interesting how hubby is so attached to our kids. He was always busy working and didn't have time for them much when they were little and now they are grown and are so important to him. He makes lots of time for both of them now. Interesting how they change. He's the one that tears up at the airport when they leave or when they drive away.

Been blowing my eating this weekend with daughter home. She stopped by my work and we went out to lunch instead of my packed lunch. Had meeting after we took her to airport. Got home around 9 pm and was tired so instead of eating dinner just went to bed. Feel much better today and just barely went over daily calories 4 calories...by not eating dinner. Really needed the rest also.

Off to make it a great day!
