Terrific Tuesday

Tuesday, April 19, 2011

Got to do running for my boss yesterday and cover another office. Like the diversity. Co-worker has been better. Got the mouse that has been bothering us or at least one of them.

Reading book talking about attitudes....what we think on and how it affects our future, our day, our health etc. Gonna work on attitude and what I think on. Mom on a downer yesteray AM. Interesting how Hubby stopped at lunch and I got her an appointment to see Dr today and she came around by end of day. Likes interaction with us. Just hard to find enough hours in the day to keep her "up". Gonna work on not letting her moods or attitudes affect my days. I let others affect my attitudes, my moods etc. Gonna work on "not" letting others affect me so.

My daughters tell me to be a duck and let it roll off my back like water rolls off the ducks back.

You've got to take the initiative and play your game. In a decisive set, confidence is the difference.

It is said, you can't change others, but you can change the way you react to them.

Is it possible your MIL knows that her downers bring you and your DH to her? Just asking. I know my MIL used to use it to make us feel guilty and we would end up changing our plans or re-arranging them to suit her.

It's tough, because your all she has and you, as a caring person, responds. Wish there was a way to have a win-win solution.

Take care. emoticon

My Oldest Is 30 today

Saturday, April 16, 2011

Can't believe my son is 30 today! Going to help celebrate his birthday this afternoon. He and his wife just went through fertility process with no success..so kinda down time for them. They so long for a child. I know God in His timing will fill their arms with their heart's desire When it's impossible - that's when God does His work. Then all glory is given to Him - because there is no one else to thank....

Makes you feel old someone, doesn't it. My oldest will be 40 this year. Rather scary.

Hope your son and family achieve their desire. A child is such a wonderful gift.

Friday

Covered another office yesterday and had some work errands to run. Today have some more errands to run...Yes....out of the office and out of my chair. Gorgeous weather yesterday and hopefully some sunshine today.

Debbie downer co-worker had a melt down yesterday as father who's never been much in her life has colon cancer. I know that she is the way she is because of her upbringing. Maybe the more I understand her the more I can overlook/understand the way she is...there is still no excuse for some of her behavior but maybe it will help some.

Read a motivational article that stated you won't become what you want until you start thinking that way. I need to start thinking like a thin person....good thought.

And you are becoming that person. Just look at you.

Each blog, in my opinion, sounds more upbeat whether dealing with your MIL or co-worker. All those things can be downers, but I think you are over-coming them by thinking more positive about yourself and making sure you think about 'you' first.

Good job! emoticon
