Fabulous Sunday!

Sunday, December 23, 2012

Having an awesome time with Stephanie and EJ. They made it here safely. They took Grandma shopping shortly after they got here...so that got done. Had a nice dinner together at home.

Grandma didn't stay the night...but resigned that if she doesn't want to I won't push any more. Think she misses out...but it is her choice. Maybe she'll stay Christmas Eve.

Heater on the car went out so hubby working on it and we're driving Grandmas SUV.

Off to church in a little while and then home for brunch and decorate cookies already baked.

Tonight we go to Clifton MIll and see the beautiful lights...you never know EJ may pop the questions...he isn't sure where...son and daughter in law are supposed to be going too and Grandma...although she isn't in the "KNOW" about everything.

As an update EJ made it through security. Didn't want to put the ring in his checked luggage so wanted to carry it and didn't know how to get through security without her finding it. So put it in his jacket zip pocket...took it off and put it in a bin to go through screening...and then when it got through put it back into his pocket...supposedly without her seeing it. He thinks she thinks it's coming during Christmas...but not for sure and not sure when. (He's not sure when either) The excitement is fun. He and my husband put it in my jewlery case so he doesn't have to worry about carrying it around. Has made it fun for all of us being a part of it. Been keeping my best friend in Missouri updated and she is excited about it all too! EJ is a wonderful young man and it has been neat to be a part of all of it...as we will be a part of their lives together. He fits in well with our family and quite the gentleman. He mentioned last night that he's never been in a relationship where the families on both sides get a long so well and we're one big happy family. I know there will be bumps along the road...but it takes us all "together" to make it work!

Off to enjoy this moment in my life...

Fabulous Friday

Friday, December 21, 2012

Another early wake up...decided to just get up and get started. Tomorrow daughter and boyfriend arrive around 2 ish if weather permits.

Had skiffs of snow last night. Guess we're supposed to get more today.

Hubby made up batches of Chex Mix. Becoming a family tradition. We box some up for presents. Son really looks forward to dad's mix. Definitely has more flavor than the store bought. I look forward to it also. He is good at it.

By myself at work until Jan 7. Hopefully it will be slow.

Got some more baking to do tonight and last minute cleaning. Hoping to get some packages wrapped also tonight or tomorrow morning.

Looking forward to time with daughter. Planning a girl's day out with daughter and daughter in law Dec 29. It will be fun to have the three of us together for the day. Thought about taking Mom with us but she doesn't do pedicures etc. so decideced to leave her behind. Then the guys will do whatever they want to do together. It will be nice to have time together.

Off to get my day off to a great start!

Terrific Thursday!

Thursday, December 20, 2012

This AM decided to put away some cookies I baked...wrap a present for co-worker for tonight and clean up the kitchen and get my lunch packed. Hubby is planning to make his famous Chex Mix for the holidays and he'll need the counter and lots of room and the sink clear. Felt a little guilty not exercising...but figured it was a better choice for this AM.

Daughter is under the weather. Hopefully will be feeling better by Saturday when they fly home!

Rainy today and supposed to turn to snow...not sure if it will stay on the ground until the kids come home or not!

Off to make it a super day!

Wacky Wednesday

Wednesday, December 19, 2012

Yesterday was Mom's anniversary. Not sure if she remembered it or not but took her out to dinner at Ruby Tuesday's last night. Hubby talked about her wedding day after dinner and listened to her stories. Got a little teary but did OK. Think it was good for her to talk about it.

Didn't get anything done on the homefront though...but time was well spent with her. You never know whether to talk to her about the past or just act like it was a normal day. Might have kept her up sad all night. You just never know. Hopefully wore her out some and she slept last night. Trying to get her to come and stay with us for several days during the Christmas holidays so she feels part of the hussle of Christmas and gets to spend time with Stephanie, EJ and us and be part of the Celebration. She probably will and will be up ready bright and early waiting for breakfast.

Looking forward to time with daughter. Have a girls day planned with daughter and daughter in law. Looking forward to time together.

Off to make it a great day!

One of these days Kathleen you need to have a "you" day. A time only spent on what you want to do, perhaps a pedicure, manicure or massage are in order. You deserve it after all you do for everyone else. Have a blessed day ~ emoticon Donna

It is so difficult to decide what to do and what to say, concerning Mom. But you are wonderfully guided, Kathleen, so continue to trust God.

Terrific Tuesday

Tuesday, December 18, 2012

Ended up staying home yesterday with a bad headache. Thought I could beat it but it beat me. Much better today and will be off to work.

4 days until daughter and boyfriend come home. They get in around 2 pm Saturday. Can't wait to spend some time with them.

Need to start wrapping presents and getting them under the tree.

Nice to look around the house and things are getting in order...mostly husband has cleaned up his piles. He has packratitis and thinks he needs everything all around him and has piles all around and yet he still can't find things. Now I'm not at home his piles have increased and we don't have people over as much so it doesn't keep his piles in check.

Off to make it a super day!

No matter how clean/dirty my house is I know where everything is. lol.. Go figure. So glad the days are passing quickly and you will have time with your daughter and family.

Glad as well that your headache diminished. Mine is just starting as I will be doing something today at work that I am not ready for at all....

Loved this word, packratitis. It almost sounds like a Biblical name and we know it is not!

That is the problem with packrats---they can never find anything when they want it! Have a great Tuesday!
