Magnificient Monday!

Monday, November 19, 2012

Had a nice weekend! Got a lot of yard work done...was in a car poker run ralley yesterday afternoon. A beautiful day...enjoyed the countryside. We missed a turn but was able to find our way back on course. You are given directions with odometer mileage and you have to find your way around the countryside. At 4 stations you picked a card from a person and reset your odometer readings for the next set of directions. You have a 2 hour time limit to complete the ralley. In the end the one who had the best poker hand from the cards you drew won...if you were within the time limit and everyone was. We were the 10th car out and came in 10th...I don't play cards and had no clue in that area. The countryside was so pretty. You also had 10 questions to answer from along the trip...signs and things to fill in the blank or answer. It was fun. Getting easier for me/us.

Ready for a short week. Co-worker taking off Wednesday. Then she'll work a few days after Thanksgiving and will be off from Dec 21 - Jan 7. It should be slow and I was off last year to visit daughter.

So much in my life to be thankful for...health, family, friends, job, warm home, a vehicle to get to work, safety, love...my cup overfloweth. Learning to be content where I am and enjoy the journey where I'm at.

So Thankful!

I work Monday - Wednesday have Thanksgiving off then work Friday and then a 3 day weekend. Co-worker wanted Black Friday off so that's why I get to work but I don't mind. work is work and I'm thankful for my job.

If we but only sit and count our blessings they are bound to be more of those then what is actually ailing us.. lol.

Have a Magnificent Monday. Donna

Joyful Sunday

Sunday, November 18, 2012

Got the yard trimmed up and cleaned up for winter. Not feeling too bad today a little stiff and sore...but not like a few weeks ago.

Going on a car rally this afternoon with hubby.

Have had a good weekend. Looking forward to the holiday. Going to daughter in law's family for dinner...so I don't have to cook or clean.

Off to praise the Lord!

Going to work in yard with hubby. Hoping to get flower beds cleaned out of leaves and debris...and the yard. Probably be last chance before winter sets in. Woke up achey so the exercise will do me good.

Will feel good to be outside. Supposed to be cool but nice out...

That's the same thing my husband and I did this morning! Great minds think alike, eh? We trimmed the lilacs as well and leveled the ground where we want to put a storage shed. Next step, spreading gravel. Seems like we've shoveled an awful lot of gravel this fall! Just trying to get it all done before the ground freezes and weather turns. Have a great rest of your weekend!

Fabulous Friday

Friday, November 16, 2012

Guess the time invested in co-worker is paying off. She's singing with Praise Team next Sunday Think she's excited but nervous. Been a lot of Thusday nights going with her. Hopefully those will wean off now. Wearing me out going with her...but have felt led to be that someone for her.

We have made it to Friday. Somehow the weeks fly by. Boss is starting new room addition so he hasn't been around much. Been a little slow but that happens around holidays.

Been easy to eliminate sweets for three days. Shows I can do it...especially when you take small challenges. Went over calories yesterday but chose to eat more meat. Hubby put in pot pies for dinner and that really took me over quick. Wouldn't normally be my choice but only 2nd time he's cooked so fiqured I'd eat it...especially when it was ready when I got home....

Off to make it a great day!

Thankful Thursday

Thursday, November 15, 2012

Well Mom said she didn't want to do anything...she wanted to rest from being out late the night before with WII Bowling. Didn't want to go out for coffee or shopping or anything. So I went home and had a quiet evening. I was glad she didn't want to do anything as I was tired.

Get to run a couple of errands for the boss today.

Still dealing with soreness and acheyness from the weekend - I think. Hard to get moving.

Go to voice lessons with co-worker for an hour tonight after work. She is on Praise Team Thanksgiving weekend so maybe I can stop going.

Taking a 3 day challenge not to eat any sweets unless it's fruits or veggies. Made it through the first day easily. Only two more to go. I can do it.

Off to make it a great day!

Have a great day sunshine. Hugs, Donna
