Ironic changes in life

Tuesday, June 19, 2012

Well yesterday was a surprise...the co-worker I used to struggle with...she was so difficult for me to work with before her baby was born...then since her baby was born she has been such a different person...I was still cautious...but she was pleasant to work with....turned in her resignation yesterday. She was such a thorn in my side for so long and I allowed her to make myself miserable. Figured it would be me leaving and not her. Now I wonder how much of her work will be piled on to co-worker and I? Doubt that he is looking to replace her. We are never happy are we? God sometimes grants what we desire and it still doesn't make us happy...we think Now what will I do? Sort of really wishing it was me leaving instead. Oh well we keep plugging a long. Who knows what adventure is yet ahead.

Having staff meeting at lunchtime at O'Charlie's. Not sure how we can have a staff meeting there. We had more of a staff meeting when we met at a meeting room at a hotel but everyone had to get there early in the AM and for some that is tough...so he changed it to different restaurants.

Really struggling with my knees. They do OK but still not feeling back to "normal" whatever that feels anymore.

Off to make it a great day!

Found out Daughter and her boyfriend will be coming home for a short weekend in July for her BFF's daughter's first birthday and then she'll come back in September for a week or so. Looking so forward to having her home for awhile. Love to get my arms around my daughter.

My co-worker and I were just having a similar chat ~~ another co-worker has changed since having a baby. Mommyhood just does something to people. :)

Think of this as a "breath of fresh air", even if only for a short time - I know only too well how toxic coworkers can make working for a living downright horrible!

Perhaps co-worker leaving means a promotion for you. You have struggled a long time w/her there. It will no longer be an issue for you. Have a great time with your daughter. Have a blessed day Kathleen. Donna

Count the co-worker leaving as a blessing in disguise!

Anytime you can spend with a bloodline child is an obvious blessing.

You are just so wonderful, Kathleen, that I have to count my blessings in knowing you.

God watch over us. Amen

It's a Monday and off and Running!

Monday, June 18, 2012

My boss got his money's worth Friday. Was at work until 5:45. Was by myself on Friday. It was a busy day....had a lot to do but got through the priorities and will try to get the rest cleaned up today.

Got some rest this weekend. Got a small tree trimmed up in the yard. Looks much better. We missed most of the rain yesaterday but heard it during the night FINALLY. It was raining all around us and we were just getting a few sprinkles.

Mom's been puny. Says she's up all night throwing up. Not sure if she isn't eating with some medicine or stewing about things and making herself sick. It's a constant battle to keep her moving and getting her out. She's still dealing with a swelling ankle. Dr said it's just a sprain and it will take awhile to heal. Meanwhile she isn't moving like she used to. Always something to worry about with her.

Knees are doing better...not great but better so back on track with workout routine. Will see how it goes today

Still no news on job interview for hubby. Guess he has two positions he's waitng to hear about but he keeps looking in the meanwhile. Guess they can take a long time to make a decision.

Daughter sent hubby a Father's Day present and it didn't make it in time. Wants him to open it when she is on the phone with him. I'm excited to see what he says. Think he'll be tickled.

Daughter said they may come visit in a couple of weeks. That would be awesome. One of her best friends daughter is turning 1 and EJ is smitten with her and wants to be here for her birthday. When they visited she just snuggled in his arms and melted his heart. He will be be a good daddy...thinking 85% it will be with my daughter...but who knows what God has in store for them. He is a wonderful young man. The key is IF he wants to put up with my daughter. She can be hard headed and tough but she will be a wonderful catch to the right guy.

Off to make it a great day!

Golly, Kathleen! Your days are so full, and although I correspond with you almost daily, I feel like I haven't talked to you in ages.

Counting on God making this a blessed day for you, friend!

Fabulous Friday

Friday, June 15, 2012

At work by myself today. Praying it's a slow day. I am moving slowly today. Decided to rest again this AM. Not like me --just struggling with my knees and wondering if they need a break. Hubby says I've been pushing too hard when I work out...not sure about that...but still really feeling achy and allergies are going strong. I sound like I have a cold...but think it's allergies instead. Wondering if my intake of sugar has brought this on. Not a big sugar eater but recently we had a lot of sugary treat around the house to eat up...leftover shower cake, strawberry doughnuts etc. and I was enjoying myself...and now wondering what effect sugar has on our joints or if it could have caused a flare up in my joints. Will have to do some research on it.

Planning to get in noontime walk.

Off to make it a great day!

You'll have to come to your own conclusions. I am trying hard to be sugar free because there is so much hidden sugars and sweeteners in American foods. This is a quick snippet from ehow.com

Significance

When a person eats too many sugar laden foods, she is missing out on other important and necessary nutrients. On average, sugar accounts for 15 percent of total calories, but for many it is closer to 30 percent.

Considerations

A direct relationship has been found between high blood sugar levels and joint pain. A report by Dr. Robert Shmerling in Harvard Health Publications found that diabetics are more prone to tendinitis, bursitis, plantar fasciitis and other conditions that contribute to joint pain.

Pondering Thursday

Thursday, June 14, 2012

Woke up with a stiff neck...thinking I need a new pillow of some type or form.,.full time co-worker on vacation for a few days. Working with part timer. Thinking back how times have changed. She used to be so difficult to work with and my how she has changed. She is nice to work with now...for the most part.

Hubby got through interview. It'll be 2-3 weeks. Didn't feel like he hit a home run...but didn't strike out. The processes are so slow. At first he was down on himself but he is his own worst critic. I believe he was prepared and did his best and now its in God's hands.

Walking at lunchtime seemed to do OK with my knees so going to get back on the bike this AM and see how I handle that....not sure what all was going on.

Worked in the yard cleaning out flower beds some last night. So much to catch up on and enjoy working in the flowers.

Praise Team tonight....

Off to make it a great day!

Be sure to keep us updated! You sure have new news everyday! My dh (many years ago) thought he totally blew a job interview and they still hired him. The process was long though as we know they disqualify others to hire.

Take care of your knee, have a great workday and God love and bless you as always.

Hubby has/having big phone interview today at 9 -? Praying for God's will...hubby would really like this job. We'll see. Haven't heard anything...so maybe they are still talking?????

Got supplies for work yesterday and the cases of paper and cases of water took a toll on my knees. Could really feel it on my knees afterwards....so decided to continue to rest them this AM and will go for lunchtime walk and see how it feels

Praying that whatever your husband said in the interview will leave a positive impression on the interviewer and that the words he used will spark a leaning toward your husband's abilities and enthusiasm for the position.
If this isn't the place where God can use your husband as a witness for Him, I ask God for Him to lead your husband to the right company, and when he gets the job, he will be anointed to assimilate the knowledge and skills he needs to do well.
