Fabulous Thursday

Thursday, June 21, 2012

Made it to Thursday! Been super busy at work and my work is piling up all around me. Hopefully I can get some of it cleaned away.

Former Co-worker stopped by yesterday...missed the old team...oh well we keep moving forward.

Knees are doing OK. Not sure what flared them up but takes awhile to get them calmed back down again.

Enjoyed a lunchtime walk yesterday. Was in the 90's but there was a breeze. Sun felt good.

Off to make it a great day!

Wednesday Wackiness!

Wednesday, June 20, 2012

Went to early meeting for my boss this AM so kinda threw everything out of order for the day! Enjoy going to the BNI meetings though. Motivates me and encourages me. BNI is a business networking meeting and I went in place of my boss.

Hubby found out yesterday the one job that he interviewed for is no longer interested in him. At least he knows definitely...sometimes you never hear back. Still has one in the wings and still trying to apply for other positions. He was down some yesterday. We prayed for God's will...before the phone interview...and afterwards....yet I know it gets discouraging trying to find where God wants us/him. He feels like he let me down...again. I believe he did his best...it wasn't the right fit...but at times I get discouraged...will he ever find work again??? I try never to voice those thoughts to him...but journal it and pray about it. The load of being the only breadwinner is wearing me down...yet I try to remember that we have "enough to meet our needs". God has always been faithful. I just know my hubby has a lot to offer a company...he's not finished yet...and it's hard to find a place hiring now a days...plus he has physical limitations and he's 58. Discouraging time for many people. I grumble about my job and yet I have a job that keeps us from going under...enough to meet part of our needs although our savings are dwindling and that bothers my hubby...but like I said we have enough to meet our needs and occasionally help others.

Thought about what we could do or start on our own but haven't come up with anything...

God is teaching us to lean totally on Him and we are. He is always faithful.

God never fails to care for His own.

Psalm 37:25 I have been young, and now am old; Yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken, Nor his descendants begging bread.

I know it's difficult but keep looking to the Lord and praise Him through the storm and He will take you through to the other side safely!

My husband has gone through similar bouts of unemployment and having a hard time finding work, in spite of excellent skills. Whenever I have started stressing about finances and talk to God about it, though, the question "Do you have enough for today?" is always "yes!" We are not promised what tomorrow will bring, only Who holds us and tomorrow in His hands. God has a plan; do not lose heart!

It is so difficult to stay positive over unemployment, but a right fit in a job is worth it. Praying with you that an effectual door of opportunity will open soon for DH.

Ironic changes in life

Tuesday, June 19, 2012

Well yesterday was a surprise...the co-worker I used to struggle with...she was so difficult for me to work with before her baby was born...then since her baby was born she has been such a different person...I was still cautious...but she was pleasant to work with....turned in her resignation yesterday. She was such a thorn in my side for so long and I allowed her to make myself miserable. Figured it would be me leaving and not her. Now I wonder how much of her work will be piled on to co-worker and I? Doubt that he is looking to replace her. We are never happy are we? God sometimes grants what we desire and it still doesn't make us happy...we think Now what will I do? Sort of really wishing it was me leaving instead. Oh well we keep plugging a long. Who knows what adventure is yet ahead.

Having staff meeting at lunchtime at O'Charlie's. Not sure how we can have a staff meeting there. We had more of a staff meeting when we met at a meeting room at a hotel but everyone had to get there early in the AM and for some that is tough...so he changed it to different restaurants.

Really struggling with my knees. They do OK but still not feeling back to "normal" whatever that feels anymore.

Off to make it a great day!

Found out Daughter and her boyfriend will be coming home for a short weekend in July for her BFF's daughter's first birthday and then she'll come back in September for a week or so. Looking so forward to having her home for awhile. Love to get my arms around my daughter.

My co-worker and I were just having a similar chat ~~ another co-worker has changed since having a baby. Mommyhood just does something to people. :)

Think of this as a "breath of fresh air", even if only for a short time - I know only too well how toxic coworkers can make working for a living downright horrible!

Perhaps co-worker leaving means a promotion for you. You have struggled a long time w/her there. It will no longer be an issue for you. Have a great time with your daughter. Have a blessed day Kathleen. Donna

Count the co-worker leaving as a blessing in disguise!

Anytime you can spend with a bloodline child is an obvious blessing.

You are just so wonderful, Kathleen, that I have to count my blessings in knowing you.

God watch over us. Amen

It's a Monday and off and Running!

Monday, June 18, 2012

My boss got his money's worth Friday. Was at work until 5:45. Was by myself on Friday. It was a busy day....had a lot to do but got through the priorities and will try to get the rest cleaned up today.

Got some rest this weekend. Got a small tree trimmed up in the yard. Looks much better. We missed most of the rain yesaterday but heard it during the night FINALLY. It was raining all around us and we were just getting a few sprinkles.

Mom's been puny. Says she's up all night throwing up. Not sure if she isn't eating with some medicine or stewing about things and making herself sick. It's a constant battle to keep her moving and getting her out. She's still dealing with a swelling ankle. Dr said it's just a sprain and it will take awhile to heal. Meanwhile she isn't moving like she used to. Always something to worry about with her.

Knees are doing better...not great but better so back on track with workout routine. Will see how it goes today

Still no news on job interview for hubby. Guess he has two positions he's waitng to hear about but he keeps looking in the meanwhile. Guess they can take a long time to make a decision.

Daughter sent hubby a Father's Day present and it didn't make it in time. Wants him to open it when she is on the phone with him. I'm excited to see what he says. Think he'll be tickled.

Daughter said they may come visit in a couple of weeks. That would be awesome. One of her best friends daughter is turning 1 and EJ is smitten with her and wants to be here for her birthday. When they visited she just snuggled in his arms and melted his heart. He will be be a good daddy...thinking 85% it will be with my daughter...but who knows what God has in store for them. He is a wonderful young man. The key is IF he wants to put up with my daughter. She can be hard headed and tough but she will be a wonderful catch to the right guy.

Off to make it a great day!

Counting on God making this a blessed day for you, friend!

Fabulous Friday

Friday, June 15, 2012

At work by myself today. Praying it's a slow day. I am moving slowly today. Decided to rest again this AM. Not like me --just struggling with my knees and wondering if they need a break. Hubby says I've been pushing too hard when I work out...not sure about that...but still really feeling achy and allergies are going strong. I sound like I have a cold...but think it's allergies instead. Wondering if my intake of sugar has brought this on. Not a big sugar eater but recently we had a lot of sugary treat around the house to eat up...leftover shower cake, strawberry doughnuts etc. and I was enjoying myself...and now wondering what effect sugar has on our joints or if it could have caused a flare up in my joints. Will have to do some research on it.

Planning to get in noontime walk.

Off to make it a great day!

You'll have to come to your own conclusions. I am trying hard to be sugar free because there is so much hidden sugars and sweeteners in American foods. This is a quick snippet from ehow.com

Significance

When a person eats too many sugar laden foods, she is missing out on other important and necessary nutrients. On average, sugar accounts for 15 percent of total calories, but for many it is closer to 30 percent.

Considerations

A direct relationship has been found between high blood sugar levels and joint pain. A report by Dr. Robert Shmerling in Harvard Health Publications found that diabetics are more prone to tendinitis, bursitis, plantar fasciitis and other conditions that contribute to joint pain.
