Boss gave us half day off and gift certificate for Massages or whatever we wanted at a local spa at Christmas. So the three of us took today off at noon! Going for an hour massage and 1/2 hour facial. Never had one of those ...not really facial as the facial person was booked but a mud mask....should be interesting. Have had a stiff neck for a couple of days so looking forward to it.

Got home at 8:30 last night. Spent some time with mom and we went out to dinner instead of exercise...I was beat tired after work. Got home and felt really wiped out so took two generic Tylenol PM's and went to bed and slept pretty good...so feeling more rested today.

Busy weekend. Corvette Gathering in St. Mary's hubby wants me to go with him to and then dinner with the group on the way home. Then Sunday going to second service and then taking Mom and myself out on an adventure. Saw a neat restaurant Cafe Verandah featured in newspaper. About an hour a way and looks like an old Victorian House...looks like a B & B. Sounds really neat and so got reservations. They have seatings on this special day and since the noon one was booked...got the 2 pm seating. So Mom will enjoy the ride through the countryside. It is a very pretty ride. It will give her something special and me too!

My birthday is Monday and the girls in both offices are going out for my BD and boss pays for it. I grumble about him and yet he occasionally does nice things for us.

Did get a noontime walk in and it was nice.

Thursday Morning

Had a rough night last night. Something didn't agree with me....I ate a lot of carrots at work yesterday and don't know if that did it or not.. Had trouble once before when I did that...

Finally went back to bed at 1:30 and decided to forgo exercise this AM in favor of sleeping until 6. I feel guilty but think it was best as I'm alone at work today.

Feeling much better today but weak. It is OK not to exercise once in awhile but boy do I feel guilty. Hope to get a lunchtime walk in and relieve stress. Notice that AM exericse really helps focus my brain and gets me going for the day.

I am glad to see you are caring for you, that you are alone at work, and that you are putting yourself ahead occasionally by paying attention to your needs and body. Fabulous Wednesday

Just co-worker and I today. Part-timer off today. Thursday I'm by myself.

Worked in the yard a little last night. Friend had mailed me fern startings last fall and I came across them in the garage and they were starting to grow and since we've had rain thought it would be a good time to get them in the ground. My poppies are blooming and my iris are still going strong. Flowers are so pretty this spring. A Lilac tree that my son brought home as a stick in kindergarten is just loaded with blooms this year. I am enjoying all the beauty this spring. Everywhere I look it seems God is blessing me with beauty. I wish they lasted longer. My Lily of the Valley smell so sweet...ahhh! My peonies...all but on bush have buds on them getting ready to bloom...

Oh yah how could I foget...I was determined not to drink Mt Dew yesterday...and I didn't. Just started on that habit at work...never drank it before but liked the sweet taste in the afternoon. Just drank water all day like I used to do. Getting back on track.

Off to make it a great day...still gotta pick up a mother's day card for mom and get it in the mail. She enjoys getting cards.

Your yard sounds as lovely as you do! I've got ferns and lilacs in my yard and just love to step outside and say hello to them. (Yep, I talk to all plants) Used to have a green thumb too. Anything that requires grat sunshine doesn't happen here. You didn't do the Dew? My hubby drank at least 4 of them yesterday. Hmmmm. Makes me want to ask, "Are you smarter than a fifth grader?" Woke up a couple times last night but overall seemed to sleep better. Rained some...maybe that helped?

Got some lunch veggies cut up and prepackaged. Sometimes hard in the AM to get it all together quickly

Planning to take Mom to Curves after work again today. Planning to get in three workouts this week after work.

Lunchtime walk will depend on the weather. Guess I could walk indoors at a store. Need to get Mom a Mother's Day Card to send to her. She enjoys mail.

Recently started drinking small bottle of Mt Dew at work in the afternoons. Decided I needed to cut that out....so yesterday after they bought a bunch more...went without one ...and you know I did survive quite nicely. Back to taking a piece of fruit for the morning and afternoon snack.

I chuckled at that last line about Mountain Dew. It seems to be a man's drink that they claim is full of energy. Just the diet Dew has 50 grams of sodium in it though. My DH was buying the regular Dew and he said it made his heart pound. I know when I did work and offer to purchase snacks and what not for men, they would always ask me to buy Mountain Dew regular. Monday Monday

Took a nice ride in Baby yesterday. Wonderful driving through the countryside. Came home and decided to take Mom for a ride too! Spent about 2 hours riding through the countryside with the top down. Mom really enjoys that. She said her neck will be sore from turning right to left all the time to see everything. Dad and she used to take drives a lot and know that she misses it a lot.

Slower week! Hoping to get Mom to Curves 2-3 times this week.

Off to make it a great week!

Co-worker's son fell down 12 steps and cracked his head open. Ended up with 7 staples. Oh youth...sometimes they try and test us until they get their act together....
